Exactly the same. All a disc is for this generation is to install the data on the HDD. The only reason it's required to be in the drive is to keep you from installing a game and then giving it to a friend or selling it immediately. It's just to confirm that you still own the game.
It will be WAY faster on the next Gen systems though obviously

Gotcha. Thanks Deck. Surprisingly fun game. I love using the mind ability to throw pretty much anything at baddies instead of shooting. Of course, shooting fun too.

Yeah, I'm playing this all digital on PC w/ NVMe and load times are still roughly 5 - 6 seconds when you first load a saved game.

Yeah, that sounds about right, maybe 10 secs I’m seeing actually, but not bad, just curious bc I honestly can’t remember the last game I played from disc.

Ok, so this game is awesome so far, however there is a shit ton of collectibles and reading materials that I pick up. I’ve been reading all, but do I really have to? And does this continue throughout? Is that the only way to understand what’s truly going on or if I skip some readings will I miss a lot? Thanks.

More of a “I suspect you will miss a lot either way” actually. But I never found backstory and mythology in game story all that interesting. I only skimmed the documents I found so far.

that's why i asked. usually i find they are superfluous and i do skim mostly, even in Doom: Eternal (which or course is not nearly as many, just some scrolls or whatever i find, so it's easier to read those bc few and far between), so i asked if it was that important bc there are just so so many reading and videos, which i do like bc those are actually people playing it out, which is really cool, but the reading material alone is a lot. so why did you make fun of me?

Please, you’re not that thin-skinned. You make jokes at your own expense all the time. And mine was preemptive, after you gave an obvious set-up.
No offense was meant.

no, i know no harm was meant at all, was just curious about the comment since you agreed with me. i've just never seen this much reading in a game ever and kinda takes away from gameplay a bit is all. so i genuinely wondered if it ALL was necessary. no biggie. your still my bestie Deck!!!

I played through the Alan Wake DLC today and it was good (more Control) but nothing that really stood out. I also used the one hit kills to beat the 3 side quests from the main game that I could never complete which gave me 3 more achievements.

you're talking about the Alan Wake DLC from long time ago or Control DLC from just recently?

How come there is no preorder for the UE if it’s supposed to come out Thursday?

They still want suckers to buy the existing version now that doesn't include the free upgrade later.

So Thursday it will just magically appear in MS store? Do you check all day or after midnight or when do they usually go up?

So if I do get the digital on Thursday and download it and all, take my disc out, I’ll still have my save game as if nothing happened, right?

Why do you always have to retort with a smart ass remark towards me? Sure, I may ask some dumb questions from time to time, but this is perfectly legit and just want a straight answer. Sorry to irk you Dan. So terribly sorry I asked such an inane question, yet again.

Re: Control (Remedy) - PC/PS4/XB1 - 8/27/2019

I am certain that your save will be intact and good to go. It’s that way for every game this generation. You may or may not have to redownlad the game, but your save should be just fine either way.
