damn it. just upgraded to some super huge base, but it doesn't have the storage capacity of my previous one. plus, i had ability to do solar panels to give the whole base power. i don't have that yet since i need someone who knows electricity.

Agreed, balancing skills is a challenge.

You can upgrade the storage of a space in the options. Also when you get extra vehicles, hoard the rucksacks in them to avoid losing supplies.

I lost my computer guy and I have been searching for another.

Re: State of Decay 2 - Ultimate Edition - Xbox One

Ok, don't be a dummy like me. I was hoarding supplies. I just ditched the bags in my outpost, but didn't put them into supplies. I came back in my next game session and they were gone.

I guess the only way to "save" supply bags is to keep them in trunks of vehicles. Fucking bullshit.

I've got the best/biggest base, full power (outpost) and full water (outpost). I'm pretty much done, once I clean out plague hearts, now. The biggest issue was getting power at the end, but honestly, I could've done without it with some of the mods. Basically just give solar power to the few that you need like workshop/forge/auto, etc. Honestly, a forge is worthless unless you have a metal worker. You can only make shitty weapons and break stuff down with it. Not worth it, so I scrapped it.

I am having fun. Would I be pissed if I paid $60 for this? Absolutely. Would I be pissed if I paid $30 for this? Nope. Totally worth that amount.

I paid zero (well not technically) with GamePass, so I am super happy with the service.

Oh and this game gets ridiculous later on. When you first start, basically every box contains something. Over time, it gets progressively worse. I will go into a house I have never been before and all 5 boxes are empty. Makes it hard to keep your crew going.

Yes the difficulty does ramp up and the items become scarce.

Basically I see this as a way to see how many days you can survive before starting over.

I found a cargo van with 9 slots, drive slower than a wheelchair but for extra storage it is perfect. I store extra supplies in the van to keep then from spoiling etc.

Super fun for me so far the patch dropped yesterday so I am looking forward to the improvements. I started three communities, one on each map so I can get the full experience.

When you unlock the Artillery outpost, things get really fun

Oh and thank you for including an HDR brightness slider. I can see the game. Sea of Thieves doesn't, and is completely unplayable.

The worst part is cars get stuck way too easily. Sometimes with a bit of trial and error, you can escape, but it sucks when you have a fully loaded vehicle and it gets caught under a rock.

Yes you need to be careful, just yesterday this happened to me. Fortunately I was close to base and I brought another car to bump it clear.

I am also starting to leave spare cars at outpost sites just in case

That’s a good idea.

I've been having fun with this so far, maybe 6-8 hours total, but it's starting to feel a little too much like a zombie survival treadmill game. Once you get to a certain point, you realize there's not a lot too this game. I wish the base building aspect was a little more functional, where you could build walls, buildings and defenses, sort of like in Fallout 4.

That is, does the game specify which spaces are vehicle? (I have a mini-mart place as an outpost.)

I lost my first survivor last night, and my vehicle on the way back to the main base (too much damage, it blew up). Earlier, I had flipped the vehicle on it's side over a rock, and was afraid I'd lose it, but I went up to it and hit something on the controller and it flopped back down.

If a vehicle blows up, it can still be repaired. You just need the toolbox.

I thought for sure there would be an achievement to getting a full squad (9 people) up to Heroes. Guess not.

The only parking spaces are at your current home.

At an outpost I just leave it nearby as a getaway vehicle

True

However, there is a lot to do if you want to see how long you can survive.

Did you kill all the plague hearts?
Did you do all 4 Legacy quest lines?
Have you found the hidden bases?
Have you unlocked the artillery outpost perk?

I agree I had hoped for more building.

Killed all the plague hearts. Just looked up the Legacy quest. I'll need to do that and I think I'm done. Brian, what are the "hidden" bases?

Good to know, it's not too far from my base.

I am not trying to read too many spoilers but I have been seeing things that suggest after you complete each leaders legacy quest line that new bases get unlocked.

Also did you find the military sites that give you the radio command for artillery strikes?

If you like your current group of survivors apparently you can move them to another map as well.
