^ That was tough. I remember you had to bomb in ball form under the thing in the canyon or whatever. Racing from one end to the other. Got him though. I think I played the game again and failed and gave up. I do want to play Echoes though and thankfully Cube still works so perhaps one day...

The last battle in Metroid Prime for GameCube. I had my progress saved to right before the battle, full weapons, full everything, while game at 9i% accomplished (the last battle was 2%, IIRC), and I just could not beat the dang thing. Ever. If I pulled my game out and tried it again, I'm sure the progress is still there just waiting to infuriate me all over again. What a bummer.
Did they ever remaster those Metroid games in HD? I really liked those. I wonder if the pace would feel quaint compared to gaming now.

Fast forward to the Wii re-release. I decided to run through it again as it truly is a classic. This time I wasn't concerned with percentages, just having fun. Lo and behold I get to the final boss again... and proceed to whoop its ass within a try or two. Did I magically get better?
Of course not. The difference was all about the controls. Motion controls allowed for more precise and faster aiming. Motion controls FTW...literally.
