Odyssey is sooner than expected which is great news. The Yoshi platformer looks great also.

Length doesn't matter?

I don't know, I thought Nintendo was a lot better then what EA and Bethesda showed. Something nice on being straight and to the point, while still announcing new Kirby, Yoshi, Metroid Prime 4, and showing off Zelda DLC and Mario Odyssey.

Re: E3 2017

On the Treehouse stream, they just announced and showed of Metroid: Samus Returns for the 3DS.

Looks like a return to form.

Apparently a "re-imagining of the GBC's Metroid 2".

Re: E3 2017

They should do it like movies, include a Switch version as a digital download with all 3DS versions sold.

Or like some indie games on PSN, when you buy the PS4 version you get the Vita version for free.

Re: E3 2017

Xbox one and ps4 has already sold millions and people play them all the time

What are people playing on Switch? One or two good games a year? Cool

Terrible thing is Nintendo will keep doing this because people keep buying their system for one game

Normally I would agree with this (having bought a Wii and WiiU) but Mario Odyssey, Metroid Prime 4, Kirby, Yoshi and a proper Pokemon RPG (it was a blink and you'll miss it announcement while they were discussing Pokemon DX)are all on the way. Heck, as much crap as Bethesda is getting for continuing to re-release Skyrim...well, Skyrim on the go is going to be pretty awesome (along with the new Xenoblade game).

Don't get me wrong, I'm still cautiously optimistic, but maybe Nintendo finally learned that they need to actually support their own system.

Anecdotally, most Switch owners i've seen (including myself) seem pretty happy still. I've been happy with Zelda, Mario Kart, and a bit of Puyo Puyo Tetris and looking forward to Mario Odyssey and some other games and ports coming up like Sonic Mania.

Maybe it's because I also own a PS4 and Xbox One, but there's plenty of games to play between all 3 for me. There's certainly more then 1 or 2 good games this year being released on Switch

Re: E3 2017

That's exactly it. I finally have a Nintendo system that compliments my Xbox lifestyle and is giving me first-party franchise games I want to play quickly. Maybe that'll die out in a year or two, but it seems to be gaining momentum not only in units sold but in third party support.

It'll never be the 4K serious workhorse the others are, but it doesn't have to be.

Really? I was playing the shit out of my PS4 at launch. Need for Speed Rivals, Battlefield 4, Assassin's Creed Black Flag, Resogun, etc.

Re: E3 2017

Agreed, unlike most consoles, there's no lull in playing my PS4, even at launch (though I got it about a month after launch).

Just curious, If you were to take out multi-platform titles at launch of the PS4 and XB1, would that still be the case? Which console would be most appealing as far as first party titles? I only pose this as Nintendo has seemingly gotten this far on the popularity of their first party titles.

Re: E3 2017

I forget what exclusives they had at launch (I think they were neck&neck), but now, I think PS4 kills the XB1 in exclusives. But Nintendo franchises kill both their franchises - but event that's not strong enough to overcome Nintendo's lack of 3rd party support.

Zero interest in Need for Speed and Battlefield. I bought Black Flag even though I was burnt out on Assassin's Creed and gave it about five hours and it didn't change my mind about never needing to play another one of those again. I did really enjoy Resogun but after three hours or so I had my fill.

Re: E3 2017

The PS4 game I spent the most hours with in the first few months was playing through Knack.

Well I think that's an unfair comparison, isn't it? Because pretty much everything third party shown at E3 (save for a couple Ubisoft games and some sport games from EA) is excluded from Nintendo because the system can't run them. But, yeah, I would much rather have a library that includes Uncharted, God of War, The Last of Us, Rachet & Clank, Horizon Zero Dawn, Bloodborne, etc. than anything currently on Nintendo consoles (or the Wii & Wii U for that matter). So if I'm looking for or recommending a system with strong first and third party support, a Switch would be a distant third.

My exact thoughts when I saw the video. I don't mind that type of gameplay but I also saw that the game has too much quick time events in that preview. I loath this type of gameplay.
