Maybe go into a level for the first time thinking of it as more of a recon, and if there's a part where you're having a tough time, buy some power-ups.
I might have to do this. My son and I have this for the WiiU and we get through the first part easy and then just crap out.
It's a great game otherwise, but the way the difficulty ramps up is annoying.

It definitely is a game that doesn’t mess around. I mean it’s got six worlds and if the second is hard already then damn.

It starts out relatively mild and then really just ramps up fast. It is a pretty fun game though and I’ve always liked DK. Personally I think Dixie is the best companion to have.

I'm not finding it's horribly difficult, I'm just not enjoying it very much. There's something strangely generic about the title.

I'm looking forward to Octopath Traveler this Friday, but the way the characters intertwine... or don't... seems interesting.

On the surface this is not my type of game, but I'm pretty excited for it too. I love the way it looks, and I'm really enjoying turn based combat in games these days so I think I'll definitely take the plunge. I think I'm also hungry for something big and meaty to get into for the next month or so.

Also, Lumines is so so good, and I love it, and I think everyone should get it.

There are local ads out there for stuff like this. I am looking forward to this game though.

THAT's the kind of retro indie stuff I'm looking for! Sega Saturn-type, 32-bit era 2D. Nice.

One of the biggest reasons I'm holding out on Hollow Knight.

Isn't that like a remade 3ds game? Or is it actually a sequel?

... and just after I bought Pac Man CE 2 Plus. It's a really cool version, BTW. My son and I played co-op a lot on our recent flight.

I was just in Tokyo and they're advertising Octopath like crazy there. I want it as well, but can wait for a Black Friday sale as I just picked up Xenogears 2 and Disgaea 5 Complete and those should keep me busy for a while.

Any of you Switchers play Fortnite? I got no friends on the Switch to run doubles/squads with.

Remade, now it runs at 60fps and the models are cleaned up.

I'll take 'em all. Don't have a Switch yet but these will all be in the back of my mind, for sure.

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Just bought a Switch, putting games on my wishlist for my birthday next month.

I got the Amazon Prime Day deal that included a 64GB microSD and $20 Nintendo Cash for free.

Any site that tracks deals on digital purchases?

Cheapassgamer has a thread of Switch/3DS/Wii U deals that’s updated weekly.

You can set up deal alerts on Slickdeals to send you emails when new deals are posted.

So I see Hori has a Joy Con out that has an actual D-Pad rather than just the directional buttons. Might get one since it’s only $25.

You can't use it disconnected from the switch, and apparently there's a bug in it that drains your battery like crazy:

Re: Nintendo Switch: Building a New Generation of Hardware from Scratch

Has anyone else dove into Octopath Traveler? I finished up the last two Chapter 2 stories I had left at about 25 hours in. Now I'm working on grinding levels to get ready for the Chap 3's. Cyrus main.
