Switch's advertised battery life is 2.5-6 hours, depending on the game. The original 3DS had an advertised battery life 3-5 hours, the NN3DS XL 3.5-7 hours. So I'm not sure what you think is an acceptable performance, but considering what the Switched is being asked to do, that seems pretty solid to me.

Does this thing even have a cell phone antenna like the original Vitas did? Otherwise how do you use that paid online plan on the go?

Sorry, missed this: Zelda, Mario and Arms, right now. And he's really interested in the portability (he plays games on the WiiU tablet all the time).

As for the expense, we're a little spoiled - the SNES was $199 in 1990, which is $367.48 today. So a system and a game is about the same price.

Yes and no. I get that inflation screws the numbers, but back then you had basically two options. Now you have three consoles, phones & tablets. Competition should drive the cost lower. Not to mention it's far easier today to compare features and look at third party support and determine if it is worth the asking price.

But it came with 2 controllers as well. To make the Switch bundle equivalent would be another $100(the grip and 2 motion controllers). Or for a little less the pro controller at $70, but that would not be the same controller that comes in the bundle being sold.

And while you mention being spoiled, I brought it up earlier but when someone could have gotten during the holiday season for less a 1TB Xbox One with 2 AAA games(so in this case say Zelda and Mario with the Switch) this is definitely too much for my blood. The only way I would have grabbed this at launch was if I could have gotten say 2 reserved and sold one for most likely at least some profit to bring down the one I keep to say $200 would have made it worth my while. Instead I'll wait until I can at least get it at $300 or less with Zelda and/or Mario bundled with it if not a little more.

Eh.. would need to see an analysis on this. I'm sure the pricing on ROM cartridges was a lot harder to manage back then, and companies have a much larger, mainstream userbase to sell into now. The costs have to more or less be in line or pricing would, in fact, have gone up.

Out of all of their stupid decisions this one at least is understandable... you can charge the joycons on the console after all. What's dumb is that this isn't included with the extra joycons which are 80 freaking bucks.

The Jimquisition thing is pretty accurate, but damn he spend 75% of the video on the online service and virtual console. There's plenty more he didn't even scratch the surface with.

That emphasis puzzled me too. It's not that those aren't legitimate complaints -- they absolutely are -- but if you're making an "everything the Switch has gotten wrong so far" list, there's so much else worth discussing as well.

Stuff like Sonic Mania worries me on the Switch because of the lack of a D-Pad.

Well yeah, i'm just talking 2D platformers in general, hence the "stuff like" part. Including Virtual Console games. And buying the Pro controller is fine (although it hasn't been available anywhere yet for preorder) but kind of defeats the purpose of going mobile with it.
