No shit - the one game I want on that list I'd rather get on the U.

Nintendo should've waited longer until they had some actual content people could be excited for, not to mention by then, maybe they could knock about $50 of the price. Seriously. Lack of battery life, lack of content, high price - this thing will be dead on arrival.

Metroid would have been a system seller for me. But that is a forgotten IP for Nintendo.

I have zero desire for this system, but wish I could play Mario and Zelda. Oh well.

Is there any reason that the Mario Kart 8 port doesn't hit the launch date besides the possibility that they wanted to have something for people to look forward to after the initial launch games before Summer? Seriously, this is a straight-up port of a three year old first-party game. I can't believe it's not intentional that it misses the launch date.

Has there been any info on the differences between the Zeldas for the U and the Switch?

Supposedly the Switch version runs at 900p docked and 720p undocked, while the Wii U version is 720p full stop.

The file sizes are basically identical, so it would appear that the assets are the same between them. Aonuma said he wanted the then-still-codenamed NX and Wii U versions to be on par in terms of graphics and gameplay. If anything's changed since then, no one at any of the hands-on events today has said anything.

That's the answer that makes the most sense to me. Nintendo certainly has a long history of delaying completed games to fill gaps in their schedules.

I don't think they could've waited much longer. Once Scorpio and whatever the next iteration of PS4 are out, at a cost that's only marginally more, they would be even more dead in the water than they are at this point.

The only thing they've seemingly worked on for this title is a single sketch that they showed off yesterday. Of course the translator was beyond terrible so it's very likely Suda51 said something beyond what was translated. But given what the other "presentations" were like (basically "they dragged me out here tonight to tell you how excited we are and I have absolutely nothing to show you") I'm doubtful.

Like seriously they couldn't even get a mock up of a cutscene or something?

The only upside I see to this thing is that maybe after it fails miserably, Nintendo will decide to become a software only company.
Zelda and Mario and Metroid on Sony and Microsoft consoles, count me in again.

Nintendo's fiscal year ends in March, and I wonder if that played any role as well. The rumors were that the Switch was delayed to March so more software would be ready, so either those rumors were off-base or things were somehow even more dire once upon a time.

People have been saying this since the Gamecube days still hasn't happened.

Also, the Switch really costs about $350 or $360 since it comes with no games.

Geez so that play for a month thing wasn't a translation error? Beyond stupid. Will probably cancel my preorder now, at least the initial few months of free games were something for being an early adopter, but rentals? Ugh.

Only problem with that is that the Gamecube was good. Wii and WiiU were mediocre at best, now this thing is overpriced, more gimmicky,and with few games.
No way is the general public going to buy this system in any numbers.

Sure, and I realized after I posted that I misrepresented the Wii as mediocre.
It was a major success and had a lot of good games. (I still have one connected to my TV as we speak, but only for the Virtual Console games.)
My WiiU, however sits in a box in my storage room. Only bought 4 games for it and never transferred my VC games to it due to the convoluted transfer system, was easier just to use the Wii.
The Switch, however, just seems like fail upon fail.

Maybe I'm crazy, but Zelda looks sharper to me on the Wii U, but the colors look better on the Switch.

What's the point of just buying one right or left controller? Can you actually do something of substance on the Switch using one piece of the controller?

Why is the regular looking controller more expensive than the gimmicky one? I don't get what Nintendo is trying to do with the accessories.

ARMS didn't exactly wow me during the presentation, but it's getting some insanely positive write-ups at the hands-on events. Turns out that the motion controls are optional, BTW. I'm curious about the single player campaign. The idea of shelling out another $80 for local multiplayer is...no.

Snipperclips was only shown during the sizzle reel at the end and isn't even getting a retail release, but that co-op puzzle game is a hit with everyone I've seen write about it too.
