Pokemon GO (IOS/Android)

Playing since day 1, so yes. Heres how I play pre-and post tracker. "Walk around with phone in my hand towards a gym, collect shit that pops up." But in reality, it's more used as a great family bonder, and the kid doesn't give a fuck that the tracker doesn't have footprints, she's excited to see anything nearby, and that's all I need from this.

I do wish the in game tracking worked better but I have no issue with not using some other app to hunt them down. I do wish Niantic would work on better communication with the player base and fix the tracking in game. They've got a golden goose here let's hope they don't cook it too soon.

Huh. That's interesting to hear people weren't using the tracker, it was a big part of the game for me and the guys I play with. Without it we are just leveling for no reason, capping gyms and cashing out, and hatching eggs. Being able to track again would hold my interest in the game much longer.

Here are some random impressions and responses. In regards to the tracker, I pretty much never used it in the beginning because I was satisfied collecting anything that came my way. Plus, it seemed too vague for me the few times I used it. Now that I'm at a much higher level and have collected far more creatures, it's something I wish was available because I probably would hunt more. At this point, finding something new amounts to nothing but dumb luck and persistence.
Speaking of leveling up, I'm currently at level 21, and the game has started to get a little more frustrating. As the poster above me said, it seems like the game gets much pickier on throws as you level up. I get far more balls that curve way off the screen now, which never used to happen before. Plus, it gets harder to capture anything. I've had 200-point creatures escape four or five times, even with great or nice catches. It gets increasingly old when you waste a number of balls just to get the XP from a ratata, capture it a few times and still have it run away.
Also, I find the apparent regional differences in creatures very interesting. Many have mentioned an overabundance of drowzees, but I've yet to see one at all. Another mentioned never seeing an abra, but I see them all the time, enough to do several evolutions. One website I saw said that zubats are as abundant as pidgeys and ratatas, but it's relatively rare that I see the bats. I also find a number of rhyhorns and loads of growlithes.
While I have played the game outside my home city, I have always been basically in my immediate area. I wonder if you would notice much of a difference in variety playing in another state or several hours from your usual home base.

I don't see the casuals sticking around once you get the point where the game randomly curves your throws. They basically made it so it's harder to catch low level crap when you're high level. It makes no sense. A low level pokemon should not be breaking out 5 times before I can capture it. It is however a good way to waste all your normal pokeballs so you have more space for the great / ultra balls.

I thought the random curves came from using the rasberries. Use a raspberry, that shit is going to curve, so throw at a 45 degree angle.

I just wish the tracker (while it lasted) worked like it did in the advertisement, where it gave you a specific direction and meters remaining.

Re: Pokemon GO (IOS/Android)
Apparently some people are also having issues with pokemon morphing into a different pokemon after being captured. If the company follows their current bug fixing method, they will just remove the ability to capture pokemon lol

Man, the community rage at this title makes me glad I never got into game development. People seriously have the maturity of 2 year olds.

A lot of the ragers have spent money though as they have been flooding google with refund requests.
I think the developer screwed up by not communicating what they were doing. If they had told the community what was going on, they could have avoided a lot of this.

I want that extra bag space bad, but I am holding out until I can build up enough coins from just leaving my Pokemons in gyms.

Wonder if any of those San Francisco Marathoners were looking for Pokemon while they ran this weekend. I was in town, it was crazy busy.

Re: Pokemon GO (IOS/Android)
edit: apparently Niantic changed the pokemon scan time to 10 seconds. It started off at 1 sec, then 5 sec and is now at 10 sec. If you walk really slowly, you might not miss anything! I assume they are trying to battle the people running scanners still but this is just going to make them create even more bots to scan with...

Re: Pokemon GO (IOS/Android)
How are you coming up with 30 days minimum?
Theoretically you could do it in one if you found 20 different gyms at once that you leave a pokemon at and then just cash out. Even if you just do one per day, at 10 coins per pokemon left, that is only 20 days. Or is there some limit of how many you can leave at once?
