Starting at $299 and they're using the textured controllers from the Forza bundle now?

I'm sold.

Definitely! My wife lost her mind watching the trailer. She says it's the most excited she's been about a video game in years and years and years.

As others pointed out in the XBox thread, it IS indeed a UHD Blu-ray drive.

Those are some not-fucking-around specs. I wasn't interested in the whole iterative console thing, but now, I can't wait.

Gives me plenty of time to save up $599 (!) too.

With those specs I'd imagine it will be closer to $1,000.

Makes me wonder if they just shot the Slim in the head by announcing Scorpio.

We are still a little far off on the AAA 4K games IMO. You'll see stuff like pac-man CE in the near future.

Despite claims, I'm still skeptical. Even the latest GeForce 1080 on a high end gaming PC isn't able to hit 60 fps regularly in a lot of games at 4K, and the Neo and Scorpio would be weaker.

I was told on here that we would not be getting any 4K consoles when I mentioned the next gen would be 4K. Even I didn't expect them to do it so early though.

If that's the way we are moving then most developers should just develop 4K around the PC and port over.

Re: E3 2016 Discussion Thread

Wonder how easy it would be for me to sell my Xbox 1 launch console.

For $299 and UHD BD, that is a crazy good deal.

I wouldn't hold my breath for 4K gaming on consoles for more than a small handful of games. Heck, look at how much VR is being touted as the next big thing.

Scorpio is still close to a year and a half away, and it's at a significantly higher price point than the base Slim. If the Slim is the new normal, I don't think the Scorpion announcement will be catastrophic. Not the best analogy, but plenty of people still buy standard Xbox One controllers even though the Elite is on the market. Big dip...yeah. Shot in the head...maybe, but I don't think it'll be that bad.
