I think I have come to the conclusion that I don't really like this game. I will play through the story (havent started on it yet), but the extreme difficulty of the multiverses really sucks any potential fun out of the experience.

Are you playing the arcade mode (the far right multiverse node) or the regular multiverse ones? Part of the reason for the difficulty is that most of the multiverses are fixed level, so a low level character has little chance. The arcade mode just adapts to your character's level, and also lets you play on easier settings.

I was referring to guild multiverses. The normal ones I can do alright in until I get to the boss.

Ah, gotcha. Still haven't joined a guild because I haven't played all that much, and the level/gear grind is real. But yeah I got combo'd by a last node Dr. Fate for like half my health. And screw you, Braniac and your tentacles.

Anyone have issues with their characters losing levels after the latest update? I had Batman up to level 12 and now he's level 4!

Apparently characters losing levels is a known bug that Netherealm is working on, and for now the suggested solution is turn your system off, possibly even with an unplug, turn it on again, and reload the game.

I picked up this game and i am rather disappointed. I played through the storymode and found it mostly boring. I really liked the first game, but this seems far too similar in almost every respect, and to a large extent i think the first game did some things better. Its not a bad game, and if you havn't played the first then you will most likely enjoy it. But when you can pick up the first game collection for probably less than $20 and then this at $60, i would suggest picking up the first game for any first time player.

I picked up the first game as a PSN Plus free game and I'm hoping that this game will be added to it too in the near future. Reading your reactions to the gameplay, I don't think I'm in a rush to play this.

I'm curious what you don't like about 2? I enjoyed the story more, mainly because it didn't go back and forth between worlds and so they were able to focus a bit more, IMHO. Plus I'm a big Hal and Barry fan.

I went back to play 1 to try to explain the story to my daughter, and it was honestly hard to go back because of the graphics alone (I mean, it was basically a port of a PS2 game).

Finally finished the story mode tonight. I really struggled to finish this one. I just wasn't having much fun playing it. If you want to I would recommend watching all the cut scenes on YouTube, they were well done, but I'm really glad I rented this one from the library instead of buying it.

I like it, but mainly for the characters (and I still think they made some bizarre choices... like they couldn't make a WW good guy version for vs. play at least?) I think it's because I was raised on the SFII style of gameplay and can't get used to just inputting all the buttons beforehand.

I agree though, the cutscenes and the storyline were well done, I think cutting out "our" DC universe from the story really helped focus the narrative. Or maybe I just like that they redeemed Hal and Barry.

That's pretty cool. I’m holding off on getting the game for now as there was an interview a while back with one of the developers who said they might consider a Switch version of the game. I’d prefer to get it for that.

This is now 20 bucks digitally on PSN. I'm tempted just so I don't have to switch disks. That's how much these game developers have me by the nuts.

I still wish they programmed a "good" side to the heroes when they interact in non story mode, I basically hate using both Superman and Wonder Woman because of it.

I wanted this but they are asking 20 bucks for it. I'm not paying 20 bucks for DLC when I already spent 60 on the game.

That's better but 10 bucks is still steep for TMNT. On the website I was looking at, it said 20 bucks. I will have to think it over.

That does seem pretty high just to get four new characters. Granted the Turtles are popular and people are more apt to wanting them. Plus the creators of the game probably had to make a special deal to get them since they’re owned by Nickelodeon and the rest of the DC characters are owned by WB. I still haven’t picked this up as I’m kind of holding out for a Switch port.
