Injustice: Gods Among Us 2: 5/16/17
 

An Injustice: Gods Among Us 2 video game is rumored to be announced soon.

According to the French web site Game Blog, Warner Bros. and NeatherRealm Studios may announce Injustice: Gods Among Us 2 in the coming days, maybe even prior to the E3, which kicks off June 14th.

It's said Injustice: Gods Among Us 2 will use the same game engine as Mortal Kombat X and be released for PS4, XBox One and PC in March 2017.

The first Injustice: Gods Among Us video game was a hit smash that took place in an alternate universe of the DC comics where Joker tricks Superman into killing Lois Lane and their unborn son, in turn causing the Man of Steel to go bad. Batman then forms a team of heroes to take down Superman and his allies. The game has also spawned a comic book series and Apps. It's also thought Zack Snyder included a reference to the game in a Batman Vs. Superman Flash cameo scene.

Not too thrilled with the "upgrading characters with gear" part. I would prefer them with just their regular costumes, not ending up with a bunch of armor added on.

It's been on our radar for some time now, but Injustice 2 was officially announced just three days ago on Thursday.

The DC character-based fighting game will feature a large roster of heroes and villains from the franchise, and players will have the freedom to customize each fighter using the game's Gear System.

We just saw the gameplay reveal trailer at the ESL Mortal Kombat X Finals, and it's only adding to the ever growing hype surrounding this game. In the trailer we caught glimpses of Black Manta, Gorilla Grodd, Atrocitus, Superman, Batman and Supergirl.

Look a bit iffy on some of the characters there. Supergirl look horrible for the generation there at the start. Actually all the human skin looks muddy there. I'm sure it'll be fixed but it looked weird.

Read this morning that Supergirl will have a Power Girl skin, but it sounds like you will have to buy one of the premium editions of the game to get it. There were a few for other characters, but none that I cared about.

20 bucks for 3 DLC characters, a skin, and a shader. 20 more bucks for 6 more DLC fighters, 2 more skins and another shader. And all of this, I assume, is day 1 content. What is this a mobile game?

I love this franchise but this is looking more and more like a wait-for-the-complete-edition game. I mean it's a fighting game, they drop in price like a rock.

$100 for 9 more DLC characters which you don't even know who they are? Yeah seems kind of ridiculous.

It's $40 for 9 DLC characters and $60 for the base game.
Yes, that is pricey and it would probably make a lot of sense to wait. But with that Visa Checkout deal still active and with GCU, I can get the whole shebang for $60. At that price, it's worth picking it up now -- for me, anyways.

This comes out tomorrow. No reviews yet. Hopefully, just an embargo rather than no review copies being given out. I can't tell which.

I have the Ultimate Edition pre-ordered. Got it for $60 + tax thanks to Best Buy GCU + Visa Checkout deal. I figured for that price, I'd give it a try
