You'll soon get to the point where you spend all your energy and most of your credits every day. You don't have to, but for best results, you'll at least have to spend all your energy daily (and you'll have so many SIMs, that'll literally take about 2 minutes to do). What becomes time consuming at higher levels is Galactic Wars, but you can get in a routine with good characters to knock it out in about 20-25 minutes on auto and it's not only fun, but rewarding.

And at level 30 you don't have access to much of it yet, but there are multiple activities you can do each day that become entirely addicting as you create your favorite teams. Feel free to ask any questions here.
Thanks for the reddit, though I only understood about half of it.

I think my main problem right now is lack of characters (five light, three dark). Is the best way to get more through data packs and shipments?

Unless you're into spending money, don't ever buy data packs (except the first Chromium as described in that post--it guarantees you a character; you buy it with crystals).

Once in a great while you'll get a character from a daily pack, or shards, but 45% of the characters you get will be from the various stores in the game. You probably can only see 1-2 right now (Cantina and Squad Arena), but eventually you'll see another 3 or so, and they'll keep you busy grabbing character shards. The other 45% of the characters you get will be from doing hard battles...one shard at a time.

For right now, you really just need to keep plugging away at what you know to do. The game is great at opening up new areas when you're about ready for them. Don't even be that concerned about which characters are the "right ones." For instance, you'll probably continue to use Clone Wars Chewbacca for a while...but you'll likely abandon him by level 60 or so in favor of other characters.

I do highly recommend doing nothing in the Cantina except getting GS shards (Battle 1-A). Just do it over and over again until he's 7*. I camped there until he was done and then started doing more cantina battles. You'll use him way into the end game. Do one Cantina refresh every day (100 crystals).

In the Squad Arena (PvP), ST Han and Leia are both great choices. Again, I'd just keep farming them until they were maxed, then move on.

Other than that, keep doing the Light and Dark side battles. (Refresh twice each day (50 crystals each)). Right now you can just try to get through the levels, but eventually you'll want each one three stars because you'll go back to them countless times to get specific character shards so you can get a character, or to get equipment parts to make them stronger. By the way, equipment (those green pluses) make a HUGE difference--more than anything!

Be sure to get through your Dailies every day. That maxes your growth.

It's a bit frustrating early on because you want to get a bunch of characters, but if you really focus on building a strong team, they'll open the game for you.

Also, don't hesitate to use ALL your energy every single day. And if you fight a battle a second time, use a SIM if you have it. I was so concerned early on with burning through my credits and SIMs that I hoarded them. No need to do that. They all refill the following day, and by using them you grow faster.

Thanks! A lot of that actually made sense, especially about my using Chewbacca.

I do like the game so I'll keep plugging at it.

I would make that the wiki for this thread.

Thanks! I edited it a bit and threw it in the wiki. Added a list of characters recommended from each store.

I can't see the wiki from work but I'd also add that the best value pack in the game is the early $4.99 pack that gives you Count Dooku. Looking back as a FTP player that is the one pack that is an incredible value and It never comes back once it pops up. (I think there is a second pack that pops up that is for droids for $20-25 that would be the next best value.

Something's wrong with the code. I've tried it on two different computers and in multiple browsers. It only lets me see the wiki if I'm logged out.

I wouldn't apply unless you play daily, but if you do, get in while you can. This guild is the best--we're doing tier 7 raids almost daily and have recently been in the top 3 across the board. Great group of people, too! Let's add more DVDTalk'ers!

Daily isn't a requirement, just 5-7 days a week

Though if you do join, I see your enjoyment and addiction increasing. Almost all my attention has moved to the LINE group so I don't post here much at all.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

Got a 7* character? That's all you need plus a few rules. Namely you need to spend over 3000 energy each week. This normally requires spending 100 or so crystals per day to maximize contribution. If you're already doing that, it shouldn't be an issue for you.

Even if you don't have a 7*, you will benefit by being in the guild by earning guild currency for shards you can't otherwise get.

Well, it's your call. It's not unprecedented to have a guild member that couldn't raid. You can still join if you can contribute the daily/weekly energy. You just won't be able to get any raid rewards until you get that first 7*.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)

davidh777, if you're playing each day and finishing all your Daily Activities, that's pretty much enough to contribute everything you need to the guild, and you'll be fine. Plus you'll get basic guild currency for contributing.

When I first joined, I was at the bottom of the pack because my highest character was level 60. But now I have like 15 7* characters, about half of which are level 80. Once you get a 7* character, things really speed up.

As long as you're consistent, that's the key.

And you have to be willing to install an app to get guild announcements (LINE). It's free and I've found it great for getting advice from guild members when you don't know what/who to upgrade next.

Yep, LINE is required but you can disable the notifications. Though you should keep the notifications for the very low-volume "Announcements" group enabled.

Like I said, if you want in, just send me an Ally Request in the game: 583-536-333

You can't drag anyone down. In fact, people will LOVE the fact that you can't "beat" them in the raids yet

As pinata is saying, up to you, but if you're playing daily, you'll be 60 in about a week, and 70 a week after that. Believe me, half this group is so "upper level" that there's no dragging it down. You'll see what I mean when you jump in your first raid and see their damage.

You're in! Here's what's next:

1) What's your LINE ID?

2) Can you join up at swgoh.gg and sync your profile/collection using your in-game Player ID? Make sure you make it public!

3) Just play as you have been, but try to get that 600/600 every day on the Daily Activities.
