I'll be honest, I have no idea how that segregation works or when you're attacked or what happens when you lose on defense. It seems very inconsistent to me.
I screwed myself early on by going all Pokemon and trying to build a big roster instead of focusing on developing my core team. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Ditto. I had these delusions of grandeur that I would have Nightsister, Jedi, Resistance, First Order, Droid, etc teams.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Hopefully all the new players have grabbed the free Samsung data pack.
https://forums.galaxy-of-heroes.star...sung-data-pack I had to use the Bluestacks emulator to get it, but I love it since now this battery eating app can be played on my computer using my Google Play account. BTW - does anyone know how to skip the tutorial. It's brutal. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
No way to cross-play that with my iOS game, I assume?

BTW - I am loving playing this game on Bluestacks. It is so much easier to see everything.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Well I was going for Fives with catina rewards but everything I've read about GW says I need Poe instead. Will cost me a few days (I was only at 18/50 for Fives), but seems like more worth it in the end.
By the end of next week, I should have DS and Luke. May try for Old Daka next the boards love her (Lumi obviously from GW, but I won't hit 40 until Sunday I think). |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Agreed. I would totally be going for Poe but I'm too close to Boba to stop now.
I have purple gear for Lumi, JC, and Asajj. Sidious is not far behind. Speaking of Lumi, I've got her at 50/85 to 6* and I only hit 5* on Tuesday this week! GW and farming have been good to daddy! I will go after Phasma once she maxes. In other news, I hit 230 in Squad Arena today. Hopefully I can keep progressing every day to speed up Sidious shards. Not sure who I will go for after him. |

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
That's not much help! ;)
I do have Han already because I, again, I was going for a wide cast of characters before I knew to focus on Sidious. Probably makes the most sense to go back to him and promote him rather than grinding just to unlock an assassin droid. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Does anybody here have Savage Opress as a character?
I keep facing him as the final boss of the AGI gear challenge and he decimates my entire squad with one strike. But when I check his abilities on the character screen, he has nothing listed that attacks EVERYBODY. I'm wondering if it's a hidden bonus that gets unlocked after leveling up his special and is not initially evident. It's literally the most powerful single attack from anything I've faced in this game so far and it's only a Tier 1 challenge. He's definitely OP compared to any of the other bosses in the other challenges. I can finish the Tier 3 Ability Mats challenge against Darth Vader with less problems. It's ridiculous. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
www.swgohcantina.com should have the answers you seek.
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Well according to that site, even at Lvl 7 his abilities still only attack a single target. Not sure why he's able to wipe out my whole squad with 1 single blow. Unless it's not the character I'm thinking of. Pretty sure it is though.
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Oh, that one. I'm pretty sure they gave him a special ability for that mission. You just need to destroy his droids to give you some health back after he does that big hit that drains everyone to 1HP. It actually mentions this in the details window before you start the mission.
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Yeah, that's it. I know it mentions to use the droids to heal. The only other thing it says is 'utilize susceptibilty', whatever that is. Apparently it means bend over and lube up.
I just did that challenge again to be sure it was him, his very first strike does over 6000 damage to everybody in my squad. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Not sure why you are having such trouble with it. My guys are no where near as strong as yours and I can do Tier 2 with no issues with only 3 characters. His hit may do a lot of damage (again pretty sure it's just a hit that brings everyone down to 1HP no matter their current HP), but you should have people to heal (since its for healers/support) on top of the droids as well.
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Now that I realize it's a designed mechanic, I know how to counter it. For some reason the first couple times I tried it, he was able to kill off my characters before I was able to heal. He usually pulls off that super attack more than once before I kill him. Before last night, I only had 2 characters to attempt that encounter with (no support characters).
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Ah yeah, 2 characters would definitely make it a bit more challenging. Glad you figured it out.
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Finally got Luke after grinding out the Squad Cantina battles. He seems like he'll be pretty good.
Why the hell isn't there a Jedi Luke though? They even show him and Vader battling on the title screen. Also, apparently the dev's don't consider Leia to be human, since she's missing that tag. She's just listed as "Rebel, Attacker". |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Lumiara is 6* now. Level 60 (as I march slowly towards 70), with maxed Level VII gear (need to be 65 before Level VIII). Her Healing is at Level 6, which makes it insanely efficient. Her power is 4116 now! She will be 7* in no less than 8 days through GW and shard farming. I simply cannot wait!
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
I dunno about GW, I find it such an excruciating grind to fight Chewbacca + 2-3 healers one after another. It's just Arena but with more matches to do. I was really expecting more to that mode.
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
It helps you learn strategy for Arena in a manner that isn't timed or tied necessarily to one team.
For taunt tanks like Chewie, you'll find that you want to either block their ability before they fire it off or clear that buff. Non-tank targets are definitely higher priority. I finished my third one today so I'm pretty stoked as it's definitely the most lucrative mode! |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
I've been spending my crystals to refresh energy twice a day (50 per) and that's been pretty great. But I find myself slowing building a surplus and now am at a crossroads.
Should I also start spending 100 once a day to refresh the Cantina because it's so slow otherwise to generate shards or should I hold them for single (or packs of) Chromium cards even though my one and only 8x pack was highly underwhelming? |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
The chewbacca fights are the only ones I can win
So far my 2 GW experiences have been exactly the same... I roll right through the first 6 battles, cuz they almost all consist of the standard starter characters (Chewbacca, Jedi Consular, Talia, etc) with the occasional lucky drop bonus character thrown in there... and then I reach the 400 War Token threshold, and the next opponent is 2 levels above me using squad synergies and a completely unique lineup that proceeds to wipe out every character I throw at it. 400 Tokens is my target for now, just so I can buy shards. Anything else I would consider a bonus until I can level up some more. But I agree, I thought that mode would include something more than just battling back to back to back to back. I do like it a little more than Arena though because you can see the whole squad you're about to face, not just the leader. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
I figured I would use this thread to keep track of my progress in the game week by week and also to get some group think on where I'm at and where I should go. Again, without guys like Pinata and Roy and I would have given up by now. Your advice and allies have been a lifesaver.
End of Week 1 Level 42 Characters (Unlocked) CW Chewie *3/L5 ST Han *3/L4 Jedi Consular 3*/L4 Talia 3*/L5 Jawa 3*/L5 Greedo 2*/L5 Royal Guard 2*/L4 (will not level past 40) Clone Sgt. 2*/L3 (I keep getting shards for this guy) (same) Snowtrooper 2*/L3 (same) (will not level past 35) FO TIE Pilot 1*/L4 (I actually really like this guy) Genosian Solider 1*/L4 IG-86 Sentinel Droid 1*/L4 Not Actively Leveling Ewok Scout (L25) NS Acolyte (L1) LS Initiate (L1) Actively Farming: Luke (46/50) Darth Sidious (55/80) Lumi (23/50) Poe (15/50) Fives (18/50) Vader (46/80) Present POA: - Train as appropriate to maintain top 500 area ranking (I am typically in high 200s but cannot crack 200 as is) - Cont. farming Luke to unlock - Cont. farming DS (GW) to unlock - Cont. farming Poe (Cantina) to unlock - Cont. farming GS to raise * level - Cont. farming IG-86 to raise * level (already at 12/15 somehow) - Cont. farming TIE to raise * level - Bring all active characters to L5 gear (some are limited by progress in battles which have not opened gear yet) |

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Damn Josh, level 42 and 15 characters after only a week? Did you spend any money? Man I only have 10 characters and it's been more than a week for me.

I have bought some $1.99 crystal packs here and there which doesn't really bother me too much so I could refresh battle/cantina. I'm thinking about buying the Droid Assassin pack for $25. It's a pretty economical use of money and you get some nice characters out of it. But I'm leaning against it because since the other pack expired I feel like they have something else coming. Also, unless you are going to build an all-droid team it seems like end-game not to be worth it. EDIT TO ADD - Also, AUTO is your friend. It helps you to get much more done quickly since you aren't glued to the screen. i tend to use my SIM tickets as well. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Continuing with my other post, my present regrets are:
- Not realizing until a few days ago that I could have been farming Lumi shards from hard battles I've 3*. I would probably have her by now or at least be closer. - Wasting catina credits on Fives instead of Poe - Wasting training droids on characters I will never use end game - Wasting energy building gear for characters I will never use. I think the idea to keep in mind with this game is that it is much better to focus on something specific rather than be a jack of all trades. You will improve your team much better in the long run. |

I don't see that :( Not that I'd probably buy that pack at this point.
Now, if the heroines pack was $25 instead of $50, I may do it, just to get Offee. But for $50, no thanks. |

Flash, just to reiterate - one of the keys to fast leveling in this game is using crystals for catina and battle refreshes. You will advance much quicker by doing that. You should definitely be in a position at this point to acquire 150 free crystals a day to help with this. If not, shoot for 100 a day so you can at least catina refresh every other day.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
I have to agree. Everyone's goal should be maximizing player level to unlock the higher tier events & challenges. There you get get guaranteed free super gear, mats, and droids. I am getting awesome shit every day from there that I would otherwise have to farm, gear especially.
I feel sick that I realized only yesterday that Sunday has all challenges available. So, my point is that you should also focus on gaining XP and this will come from spending energy to sim battles. If I had been doing that this whole time, I would have capped at 60 long ago and I'd be knocking on 65 today. |
