Shard Shop First Impressions: Well, it exists...
Each shard you turn is gives you 15 credits. You spend 300 credits on 2 shards of 6 otherwise easily farmable characters. Refreshes every 24 hours, cannot do it manually. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Mace changes do not appear to be part of this update...

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
To get a 4* "Shard Shop" exclusive character, you'll need 80 shards which cost 150 credits each (300 for 2) which will cost 12,000 credits. At 15 credits per extra shard, you need 800 extra shards. For a 4*. This will not go over well.
So it's 10 extra shards for each and every shard shop shard. That's bananas. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
First time I've seen purple materials in the Shipments store... wonder if that's part of the update. I hope that becomes a regular occurrence.
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
I think they just fixed the color scheme so they were more readily identifiable.
The border around gear denoting its rarity is now present in Shipments and during Data Card opening, making it easier to know the gear's value. During 3 two hour periods of the day (12:00-14:00, 18:00-20:00, and 21:00-23:00, all in your local time) the player can collect additional bonus Energy through the Daily Activities menu. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
I wonder if the bonus energy will ever be Cantina?

I do really like seeing the shard progress on the overall character screen now as well as on the reward screen. The "this gear is needed by these characters" is nice but, realistically, I'm just farming for a specific character's immediate need anyway so it's kind of redundant. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
You guys with the update all play on IOS right? I checked my Android devices and there is no update yet. That's strange.
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Correct. I have see others on FB and the forums confirm the Android version isn't live yet.
I also saw that Vader does appear in the Shard Shop. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Yes, they are saying on the main forum that the update is not out yet for Android.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Another interesting update for Kylo users. Health steal procs with every hit. That makes him with his ability to reset cooldowns pretty much a must own at this point.
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Ventress too would apply to the above if she's actually fixed. I want to punch myself even harder for not buying that heroines pack now.
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Android users: reboot your phone and find the update.
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Luminara's new stance is bad ass.
Some new graphical changes to battle flow. Kind of distracting so far, haven't seen enough to know if it feels right or if there are bugs. I'm pretty sure my JC disappeared and "popped" back into view when coming out of stun. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Poe has been nerfed. Speed boosts now apply in the first round of Arena, meaning that you are a Jedi team vs. Sith/Poe or Poe/Droid you will probably beat the crap out of them. Makes me want to stop getting Poe to 5* and go back to QGJ instead with Catina. I may just alternate them.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
No surprise but the speed boost is apparently broken. If you have a high level QGJ, run him as leader with two other Jedi and watch your team destroy everyone else.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Thank the Maker challenges now remember your previous lineup (or at least leader)!

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
So I decided that I'm just going to keep building out my team the way I want to and not get caught up in Yoda nonsense. I will get him eventually but not the expense of continue to progress in the game. Where Yoda interests and mine converge I will do it. For example, I really want Barriss for GW so I am farming her from hard nodes (and eventually Catina when I open up her node). I need a Jedi tank so I will continue to farm Mace from Catina and his hard nodes. Catina shipments will go to QGJ.
But unless I draw someone from Bronze those will be my five jedi. Pinata makes a great point that investment into Koth is really just investment into Yoda but honestly, I have HK-47, Greedo, and Han and I would rather use rewards on those once Sid is at 7*. I am holding for now to see if Ackbar is a must have. So Koth is a very low priority, if ever. I think this is exactly what EA wants - people to lose their minds over Yoda. I'll be able to get to the second Yoda node this go around, and with some luck I might even be able to progress a little further if someone else gets unlocked before them. I would be interested in a Jedi pack, but I have a feeling it will consist of JG, AK and maybe even Koth - lesser Jedis -and probably some JC shards. Otherwise, it will be another EA cash grab for Yoda insanity. The event will return and by then my entire team will be better. Pinata/Roy will have Yoda though and I will borrow him from them for battles :) |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
I fully intend to give updates how my 5* Yoda does with a full 5-7* Jedi team (Lumi, JC, QGJ, Mace) to let you know if he's worth pursuing. If I like him, I will continue to get Mace and QGJ and, by necessity, EK to 7*. If nothing else, I expect them to cut through Light Side 8 levels like a hot knife through butter. |

How far did you make it?
I unlocked a Geonosian Soldier @ level 39 to fill out my Dark Side roster (since I only had 3 dark side characters unlocked @ that point). Working on Primarily: Darth Sidious - 35/80 Darth Vader - 32/80 Luminara Unduli 19/50 and Just to try to get some more Jedi (not gonna happen before the Jedi event though at least I'll be ready if it ever comes around again): Ahsoka Tano - 11/25 Count Dooku - 8/50 Qui-Gon Jinn - 5/25 |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
The Yoda event will come around once a month. Already confirmed by devs. My understanding is that there will be weekly events of different themes (although as Pinata noted the themes after Jedi become a little tough as there just aren't that many other types of groupings). I think a droid/genosans is possible and maybe some Resistance teams. Keep in mind that R2D2 and C3PO are not in the game and I think people would want them.
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Cruz.... Dooku is not a Jedi. :p
Need some advice on where to focus my efforts. I have: 7* Sid/Lumi in gear7 purple 4* Fett, Chewie, JC in gear5-6 blue 3* IG-86, Talia, Poe, Phasma, Luke, GS in gear5-6 blue 2* QGJ in gear6 blue 1* FOTP in gear6 blue And a bunch of expendable squadies Cantina: Poe or he's not that good now? Daka to help with Campaign? Beef up QGJ or Fett? Arena: Sid to 7*? Work on new hero for Vader shards? Han, Asajj? GW: Lumi to 7*? Beef up Phasma? Work on new hero? Poggle? Thanks |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Poe is still good. The QGJ Jedi speed-bump-doubling is a bug that will be fixed. Poe is still fast and he still reduces enemy turn meters to give your team the chance to make it 5v4 before it begins. That was the point of Poe the whole time.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Gooter, my take:
You need to make a decision on Fett. If you are going to go for a crit based team (which you could, if you ran Fett(L) with Poe, Sid, IG-86, GS and Luke) then invest the resources. If you want to run balance, say Phasma(L) with Sid, Lumi, GS, and IG-86, then I wouldn't. Fett is super cool but not all that powerful, although his revive is nice. I found immediately eliminate anyone that is primarily built through Chromium. Which at your level is probably FOTP. He's also a hard farm, with only two nodes, no shipments, and high energy for sims. I would continue to build up GS and JC b/c GS is a massive damage dealer and JC is just so useful in anything, arena, GW, cantina, etc. I would bring up these to 5* - GS, JC, IG-86, Poe, Phasma. I would really suggest getting QGJ up there. He has low cooldowns, assist call, special debuffs, and high dmg. Plus his leader ability for jedis is massive, bug or not. Most of all though, you REALLY need to get Daka or you will not be able to progress on DS battles. Talia is nice but her heal comes at her own expense. Daka will help with both stuns and heals. So I would prioritize getting her. Chewie is very useful even at 4* and so is Luke (he's an easy farm). Those are my thoughts anyway. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Ran into super team in GW on node 8. Pretty much done for. Oh well. You can't win them all. But when I hit L60, my GW has become much, much tougher.
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Thanks for the tips.
I ran into a GW team that I should beat but they are kicking my butt. I'm level 56 using level 55 heroes mentioned above; actually beefed up GS a bit too since my last post. The team I'm facing is level 55 (5* Phasma, 4* Sid, Savage, Chewie, Fives), in blue gear (well blue circles around their portraits). They get off 2 or 3 shots to my one and just destroy whatever combo of guys I throw at them. Any suggestions? |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
I noticed today that my final node was level 63 opponents. I run a full level 69 team and will be 70 tomorrow. Bizarre how different it is.
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Nodes 11/12 are typically easier than 9/10. 6/7 tend to be pretty hard too. I think the design is to give you an opportunity to heal going into the major battles.
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Did they bump down the number of sim tickets you get when buying energy? I swear it used to be 25 and it's 10 now.
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Cantina is 10. Regular Energy is 20. Daily Activity reward is 25.
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
I think they are forcing the update through now...just got kicked off.
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
As did I.
|
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
New character is Rex....lol.
He actually sounds pretty great though. Clone leader who deals more damage the higher the HP of the opponent is. Could be interesting with 5s. But Chromium only, so F2P are screwed. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
No Jedi pack. Not surprised. EA has no real history of re-making initial packs available, or even offering new ones. This probably won't go over too well.
