My Protection cannot regenerate, but every battle starts with the other team at full? Fine. There are 5 enemies/node and 12 nodes so that 60 enemies in total. There are more than 60 characters in the game. Stop assigning random player squads to the nodes but instead go to a scaling random team from the entire roster or characters. The caveat, then, is that no enemy should appear twice. If I kill Sidious in node 1, he cannot come back in node 12. This is more in the spirit of the GW and it puts us on equal footing. Make me keep rotating my team to keep them fresh. If they die, they die. Remove the ability to retreat or force quit by "killing" my characters until they survive the battle. This way starting requires finishing. |

Based on my run through so far with GW, let me offer some strategies:
1) Do not use any healers on your team until your protection wears off. There's nothing to heal until that happens and you should be trying to burst damage your way through these rounds as quickly as possible. 2) Start with your C team if possible, but no more than your B team. 3) If you don't have Barriss, you need to get her by any means necessary. Even a 4* G7 Barriss will save your bacon. Prepare to spend another 20-30 minutes in GW. On top of the usual time you spend. What mobile game should take 60 minutes to play every day? Come on... |

I did notice that (my borrowed) Barriss was more useful than I thought. The nice thing is that since she normalizes the health for the team, all of those with protection are at 100% health so anyone that has dipped basically gets fully healed.
Time to re-double my efforts for her. |

I agree with your sentiment. Two hours a day, I just don't have it. The App store rating has crashed to the ground. The Play store is still up there but they must take things differently than Apple does. I think Apple rates by version and Google is an overall rating. It's going to be impossible to overcome 500k 5* ratings anytime soon. |

At least according to http://swgoh.gg/characters/stats/#2 the speed there makes sense. Poe > STHan > Phasma > Lando > Boba
Poe's taunt removes enemy turn meter thereby speeding up your team slightly. Then STHan steps up. So the enemy must hit one of those two or use an AoE. Either way, if Han is hit, your team gets more turn meter. Then Phamsa hits advantage + more turn meter. Eventually Lando comes up and wrecks. Boba would be last with his own AoE. I may try that even though I haven't invested in Lando. Boba, Poe, and STHan need work. Phasma is maxed. Maybe I'll use Daka or another slower-than-Phasma AoE instead of STHan, like IG-88. The only problem with IG-88 is that he's the same speed as Phasma making it a coin flip which goes first. Magmatrooper? So, in conclusion: Boba (L) Poe Phasma Lando IG-88/Magma or STHan or Daka |

I gotta say, this game went from a super fun time burner / addiction to the most frustrating piece of shit on the planet. How many FUCKING times can my arena opponent "dodge" or "deflect" an attack? I was dodged 6 out of 7 attacks on a JC. Fire up the game today and a very similar result.
Ridiculous... I can't see playing this much longer. I also hate the new health meters. |

Ugh, the update has broken the game. I think I might be done.
Stormtrooper Han used taunt and was the only target I could hit for THREE ROUNDS because healers kept boosting him back up. Has Han ALWAYS been able to taunt for THREE ROUNDS in a row?! I don't have Bariss, Phasma, Lando, any of these characters you're all talking about. Just when I was getting the hang of things and starting to get a Level 7 team, the game switched on me. The gear challenge is impossible, GW is tougher than ever, and Arena is a crapshoot. I honestly try not to complain much, and today I'm pretty frustrated by the changes and I don't really see them as changes worth enduring, though I think Groucho is right that I will stick it out for Guilds and see what happens. For now, there's no way I'd spend money on this game at this point. |

This is an okay read. I get the point, but I think they painted themselves into a corner by not planning the game out better from the beginning. Now you have people wailing and gnashing their teeth about "wasted" effort on characters they won't use anymore while having to scramble to bring up another team. I get it. But they should have done something better to create tiers of characters and force a more mixed team composition. Or a strict team combination. It's going to suck for a while as we adapt, but I think, in the end, it'll be good for the game. Like Groucho, I'm going to keep on keepin' on at least until Guilds and Raids and other stuff come up. Arena is just a necessary evil. That's going to be where a lot of my experimentation is. GW has been my bread & butter historically. It's going to be a lot tougher, but I'm going to have to change from just using my A team to win it. Shouldn't be a huge deal to cope with. |

I have a very good roster too (Barriss aside) and I'm getting smoked in GW today. It's totally broken.
If the enemies are going to be of comparable level, then Protection needs to refill. Otherwise, they need to completely rework the seeding. |

GW was a nightmare. You (the royal you) really need to change your strategy. I wouldn't even use my A team at all until Node 4 if at all possible.

Well I almost finished a 2nd consecutive GW post-patch. Made it to the very last node, but I don't have any characters left above level 40 so I'm done for today. Not happening against an all 73's team. I do believe they F'd up somewhere with this latest update. It really seems unbalanced and the game is now frustrating beyond belief. Hopefully there's enough outrage on the forums to spark some hotfixes. I can't imagine there's too many people out there (other than EA) that actually think the game got better.

So obviously everything is about money with EA but what they are really trying to do is force you to have more synergistic teams. Facing a droid team? No problem, just use your full power Jawa squad (all two of them) with Eeth (who I hope you got). And so on. The point is to get you to spend, spend, spend until you have the full team full power comps you need to survive.
Fuck that noise. I'm happy to be F2P until I see what guilds bring. Then we'll see. |

I don't get it. This isn't a "game" anyway. It's a collection simulator. What have people been doing these last 5 months if not building a roster? Yes we all focused on specific characters because that's what the meta dictated. They changed the meta. The reasoning is to bring more balance. I can't speak to Android, but on iOS this is v0.3.4. We are the beta testers. The guinea pigs. I have only spent $42 on this game and I don't feel ripped off (yet). I knew what I was doing and I haven't spent since. No big deal.
This update and the direction is supposed to encourage diversity. Isn't that what we want? A personal dream team of characters that can hold their own. Maybe not permanently because defense AI sucks, but enough that we know how to win with our teams? I don't understand the uproar, especially from the F2P market other than it being a slog to upgrade characters and now those classic characters are no longer the top tier. I literally just super-maxed QGJ and now he's apparently useless. Big deal. He's there for the next change or the next event that needs him. It's not like I was going to quit farming others. In fact, this has given me new direction when I was just sort of meandering about getting everyone in GW up to 5/6* or unlocking everyone in Arena to get Vader shards. In PVP they are single matches. Your team can handle the climb, but they may not keep the rung. So? Do you want to sit at #1 every day? Do you want to cram your playing into a specific 45-60 minute window when only 15 of that is actually doing anything? Events and challenges are the same: single fights. You learn them, you adapt, you conquer. Then you get bored. The only thing I think is truly unfair by this change is GW, but, again, you're supposed to want a full and diverse roster anyway so the more characters you recruit and upgrade, the further you will go. I have made my feelings about this known and I have no doubt they'll "fix" it somehow. Most likely by allowing Protection regeneration or betting enemy matching. It'll come. Other than that, it's the first jarring step on the path to (hopefully) make something worth playing every day. What was it last week? Guilds and raids are on the horizon. We wanted new content and it's coming. Does the rebalancing hurt? Yes. Does that make it unplayable? I don't think that's something anyone can really justify on day #1. |

Well, having messed around with it on-and-off today, I'm feeling a bit better about it. It's still broken and they'll need to fix some stuff, and I'm ticked that I can't even play the event content because I don't have enough characters yet BUT...
Ultimately, I'm solely F2P and over time I'll have more characters and these issues will resolve themselves. I still enjoy this more than most other games I've played. I just hope they fix things sooner than later and that the guild stuff is fun. We'll see... |

I don't want to be looking for things to complain about after the update, so let me ask my question this way? Before the update, was it common in Arena before the update to have a stunned character with slow-down on them DODGE an entire round's worth of attacks? Because that keeps happening to me.

They've been able to dodge before, regardless of state. I remember reading the devs say they were discussing it.
If Dooku was the leader, the extra evasion is probably killing you. I believe I have noticed an animation error where an AoE attack that is dodged by the targeted character applies damage to others but they don't "wince" because the targeted one doesn't. I'm not 100% sure about that, though, it was just once. |
