Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
6 farming attempts for JKG, 6 failures. Though I did get a single QGJ shard for completing GW today. That'll sure help...

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
I was having a few battles the last couple of days that made me wonder if I'm missing something. I think I read in these threads somewhere that people don't like Chewbacca or Fives and I dig them both. I don't have Poe but I've fought him several times and I think Chewbacca is better because he has plenty of HP and can replenish his own HP, too. As for Fives, his ability to bring in someone to do another attack plus his high chance at a counterstrike are excellent (IG-86 is a decent Dark Side equivalent, mostly). The other day I brought both Fives and IG-86 into GW and I took the same team through and won, didn't lose anybody.
Am I missing something about those characters? Just got Lumi. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Chewie is a great character. The only problem with him is he doesn't really scale well when you get to the higher levels. I found him to be less effective after I hit level 60, and found the other tanks (Poe or Han) to be a bit better.
I don't have Fives, but I see him all the time in GW. |

Better unlock and upgrade your Jedi in preparation for the first event!
SITH should count as Jedis, FFS. They are. Just bad jedis. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Chewie's biggest strength is how strong he is. You can keep him alive for a very long time. His biggest weakness is how slow he is. Typically, if I face a team with Chewie in it I've killed off their main healer before he gets off his first taunt.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
That's my strategy most of the time, too. Get that Jedi Consular out of the way right before he can taunt. Sometimes, I get the healer all the way in the red and then, boom, there's the taunt. When that happens, I just throw everything I've got at Chewie and take him down. Nobody stops me from taking out the healer. NOBODY!

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
I wonder if it's even worth trying to get some of the easier Jedi's before the event, if they need to be 5* in order to get the new character.

He isn't necessarily meant to survive except in GW. |

"Talia was using Water of Life as though it would heal her. AI was adjusted so she uses the ability more sensibly."
Bah, I loved taking advantage of that. |

I have enough Jedi at 4* already to complete level 4. It'll probably be the next go around when i have enough Jedi at 5* so I can unlock the character. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
It stands to reason there will be non-shard rewards for completing stages too, right? Even so, if you want that character in the future, you need five 5*+ Jedi, so you might as well start now.
Besides, there will be crossover with other events. I don't imagine these will be mutually-exclusive in Jedi, Sith, FO, Rebel, Resistance, Empire, etc but will hit other categories like Light, Dark, Healer, Attacker, Support, Scoundrel, etc. At least, I hope... |

Like you said, they will probably do other character type exclusive events in the future, so focusing on Jedi's now without getting 5 to 5* seems pointless. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
This Event is planned to be available for a week, and then unavailable for a number of weeks, and then available again for a week, etc. This approach will give players multiple opportunities to progress in the Event, with time in between to prepare as needed. This will be the only place to gain Shards of the new character. The new character is not expected to be for sale or acquirable elsewhere in the game. I just know that with no other information on future events, I might as well focus on the Jedi this next week so I don't miss out. Once the format and next events are known, we'll have a better alternative to who to focus on. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Ah okay, that's cool. Still not sure if I want to divert resources off of getting other characters starred for Jedi's though.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Sith are not Jedis. Only characters labeled explicitly as "Jedi" count.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
I, too, am going for Eeth Koth now instead of stockpiling.
Mace is changing with this update. They intend to make him as powerful as he should be. Jury's out whether or not they'll succeed. Mace Windu's kit was highly divergent, lacking synergy or focus that would allow him to play a clear role in combat. This overhaul should help him secure his identity as a heroic, high-pressure Tank that enemies will have to focus fire on to survive, even without a Taunt. Basic ability reworked: Now deals 25~50% more damage while Mace is above 50% Health, and heals Mace for 50~70% of the damage dealt while Mace is below 50% Health Unique ability reworked: At the start of each of his turns, Mace has a 30~60% chance to Expose a random enemy until the end of his turn. In addition, Mace gains 10~25% Turn Meter whenever he attacks an Exposed enemy. |

Just a word of warning - Mace is fucking useless as hell. He's not a glass cannon. He's an actual glass. So just be prepared you are investing a HELL of a lot of time and energy into a player that you may never use for anything else in this game.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
I just got a 2nd red card. A bonus 75k! Might check to see if you can get it in case it was a bug.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Isn't it one per day?

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
I thought it was just a one-off for the lunar new year. Maybe I misread it in my post-sleep eyes yesterday.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
The red card promotion goes through the 12th, but for some reason i have had to restart my client both days thus far in order for it show up.
