That's definitely good advice. Also, retreating is an invaluable tactic. I almost couldn't complete my run today so I had to do a lot of trial & error to get through the last 3-4 missions.

How to use retreat? I thought it was useless now because it resets the enemy team?
It resets yes, but also allows you to try different combinations, attacks, etc. to change RNG. Also allows you to burn enemy specials if you are willing to sacrifice pawns. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Does it reset your team as well, including health etc? Otherwise I'm not seeing how it is useful.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Yeah it does.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
OH! Well shit. I just stopped using it after the patch when everybody in the official forums declared it it the worst change in the history of games. Thanks fellas.

When are crystals supposed to be delivered from the subscription? I signed up yesterday and got the initial 100, but nothing else has come in my mail yet.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Pretty happy that I finally have a team that can auto-win the tier 3 Savage Opress challenge every time. That battle was getting very annoying.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Sorry, still not understanding the GW retreat tactic. Please explain to me like I'm a 5 year old. :)
I'm halfway thru my GW and about to face a big roadblock... a +3 level Dooku who will most likely rip me to shreds. I have some suicide squaddies to throw up against him too (well, levels 1-15 if I can use those). Thanks |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
As long as the opponent has taken a turn, you can click the gear icon and retreat.
This resets the battle. Opponents are alive, full health, and completely cooled down. Your heroes revert to their state pre-battle (alive, hurt/healthy, same cooldown status). It's like the battle never happened. You cannot retreat and have the enemies damaged. So a suicide squad needs to be that: suicide. They must finish the battle, win or lose, to have an effect on the enemy. |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Thanks Pinata.
So by using retreat, it gives you another shot at that particular battle? If it is going poorly and you lost some guys, then hit retreat and you get another shot. And the suicide squad can burn those enemy specials as long as you finish the battle? So, in my current battle, I can tag in some lowbies, hope Dooku uses his lightning, lose the battle, and bring in my big guns? |
Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Precisely.
There is a quirk with the seeding of the RNG where if you retreat, bring in the same team, and do the same first action/target, the thing will play out the same. You have to change it up to get different results. |

I'm finding that AoE is essential in Dark Side battles if you hope to keep everyone alive to 3* it. Otherwise you'll get AoE'ed to death with grenades and Jawas.

You need to kill the droids first. Makes it a lot easier.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
That one and the Veers/Tarkin battle necessitate killing droids first.

Re: Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes (iOS & Android)
Especially if you can time it so that the heal bonus you get from killing them is useful, but that's a dangerous game with Savage's slam-to-zero attack followed by the droids picking you off.

Daka and Asajj definitely help on auto-play with their basic attacks throwing a stun on him.
