I saw they advertised it, too. I might pick this up sooner than I thought, I just hate swapping games. I would love to get digital but I like to trade in games when I'm done with them, so I'm screwed.

I had a hilarious glitch. The twins turned invisible during the cut scene where they arrive at the train station hideout. The fat lady is talking to thin air, except for a floating gun and a hovering stack of boxes. Weird that this would happen, but I guess it's nothing compared to Unity's early days.

This is the third PS4 game I've played this year (after The Order 1886 and Sherlock Holmes Crimes and Punishment) to take place in Whitechapel in the 1880's. Who knew Jack the Ripper would be such a 2015 video game staple?

You know I'm halfway through and I can't tell if the graphics this year are worse that Unity or if it's just the drab brownish industrialized London setting. Also, is it just me of is this far and away the easiest game in the series?

But... stability is more important than all the other stuff at the end of the day, and I'm just glad this game hasn't been catching a lot of shit for being a technical mess. Ubisoft, nor the franchise, could really deal with that at the moment.

No way. They don't just shift everyone from one game to the next each year. They have multiple games being worked on at any given moment. Next years game has likely been in development for a few years. If they were to hit the brakes on the annual stuff today, we'd still see at least a couple of annual games brought to light before we see things actually slow down from a release standpoint. Unless, of course, they decided to cut their losses and just waste some of their investment on future titles as a calculated risk.

Wrapped this one up. Very enjoyable and I have to say that Jacob and Evie are the most likable assassins since Ezio. Well worth s Black Friday buy if you haven't picked it up.

I ended up getting this during the PSN BF sale. Am I going crazy or is there no way to restart a checkpoint/restart a memory without quitting to the title screen?

Not too far into this, and I actually really enjoyed Unity...but I am having a blast so far. I am not feeling franchise fatigue at all with this, and I love the steampunk setting.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Syndicate (XB1 PS4 PC) 10/23/15
This game does not seem to have a lot of love. I guess franchise fatigue has really set in...I just wanted to help anyone going for the 100%/plat on this with the two annoying achievement/trophies. I found the guides to be lacking on these two and the methods I ended up finding worked so much better.
No Ticket: Kick fifty enemies off of trains....the guides tell you to do sequence 2 or even 1. Or maybe train robberies. What I recommend is kick off anyone you have a chance to up to sequence 8. The very first mission in sequence 8 pulls you into a train depot with two stationary trains and about 15-20 enemies. Just make noise, kick everyone off and repeat. No playing through missions...no long load times. In two quick runs you will get this if you spent any time at all working towards this in earlier missions.
Most Unsporting: Shoot fifty enemies before they shoot at you. Forget what you have read...just go to Buckingham Palace's roof. Fast travel to the roof...there are 4 guards up here. Run up to one with your weakest gun. Make sure his outline is white not yellow. Counter 3-4 times and move to the next. If you are doing it right a pop up will happen telling you you got 2 counter shots in 15 seconds. You will get 12-16 each couple of minutes..then fast travel to the same point to respawn enemies. Takes maybe 15 minutes if you start out with zero.

Franchise fatigue and fatigue over European settings are what's tanking this one I think....
I seriously have no clue why they don't go the feudal Japan route nearly everyone is asking for.

I started this a couple days ago and these are my first impressions: late 19th century London is ugly. Not an aesthetically pleasing environment. Also, it is weird fighting without a sword. It seems the combat system has been overhauled completely, and I'm not sure I'm a fan. Blocking/countering is much more difficult.

The trick is not to block and counter at all. If you just attack relentlessly you'll get through all their defenses nearly every time.

I'm almost done, put in 40 hours. My characters are max level, have the best weapons and gear, and have completed all side missions and collectibles. On sequence 7.
The toughest thing so far has been the 8 round fight club in Westminster vs multiple waves of 9's and 10's. Probably failed a dozen times before I got it.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Syndicate (XB1 PS4 PC) 10/23/15
Finished the main game and the Jack the Ripper DLC tonight. The DLC was probably an additional 6-8 hours if you complete all the activities. Only thing I didn't care for was when you played as Jack.
This game was far more buggy/glitchy than the infamously glitchy AC Unity. Had alot of freezing issues, game restarted on me at least a dozen times.
But, like all the other past AC games, I had fun. Ready for the next game in the franchise.

Re: Assassin's Creed: Syndicate (XB1 PS4 PC) 10/23/15
I played this at the weekend and didnt realize that i was just about to start the last level. Like the rest of the game i completed it with pretty much zero effort needed.
I had waited so long for this game and had such high hopes after loving JC2, but this game was one of the biggest gaming disappointments in recent years. It felt like a poorly replicated version of that game that came before, a game which was far superior in literally every aspect. I am sure that a JC4 will probably eventually get made, but i will not be buying it day one and will only pick it up if its a serious improvement over this tripe.
