Screw Konami...seriously. Whoever is leading that company has lost it, plain and simple. I hope they go bankrupt soon so decent companies can actually fight over the worthwhile assets like Silent Hill and Castlevania.

According to everything I've read, they're making a lot more money off those slot machines than they ever did on expensive-to-make videogames. It's a sad reality.

Eurogamer reports that, PES aside, all AAA-development has ceased at Konami. Reportedly because of that, their technology director just quit too.

Konami. Such a failure right now in giving their fanbase some love.

Looks like Kojima's contract might finally be up and he's starting a new studio.

If its going to be one of the big three, odds are it'll be Microsoft.

They have more cash on hand and have been giving developers full creative control since Spencer has took over the Xbox division. They've stopped focusing on third-party titles and have started putting their efforts and resources into first-party titles, unlike Sony which has been doing the opposite (e.g. Destiny, Call of Duty, Battlefront).

If Kojima goes over budget, which will happen, it would be less of an issue at Microsoft than at Sony.

It would certainly be in Sony's best interest to do so, but I don't think it would be in Kojima's best interests to go exclusive.

The article mentions that they would be working on Sony platforms, so if anything it sounds like that will be the focus.

Video says he's established an independent studio. First project is in collaboration with PlayStation.

E3 Next year is gonna be freaking crazy if Kojima shows off what he's working on.

Re: Konami Has Gone Crazy

Konami. Jesus H. Fuck Me in the Asshole Christ. How you fucked up so badly.

Kojima looked tired as fuck in there. It's not the facial hair but around his eyes. Glad to see somebody gave a damn about him. I can't imagine how he's felt in all this shit. No MGS from Kojima. Konami says it can still live on w/o him but I don't see it considering MGS is SOOOOOOO much from the mind of Kojima that anything else from it now is just imitation and not honest imagination.

Re: Konami Has Gone Crazy

But on that note, Kojima has repeatedly said he was done directing MGS games then keeps getting pulled back in ("Just when I thought I was out..."). Wonder where he'll go from here.

I'd be surprised if they can whip something together in 6 months to show.

Yeah. Maybe a trailer. But I don't think Kojima will make E3 w/ his new game.

Re: Konami Has Gone Crazy

I fully expect a teaser trailer that tells us absolutely nothing about the planned game (if there even is a plan yet), except:
- Kojima
- Sony console exclusive
- 2017
- Did we mention Kojima?
- some famous actor involved

I can't wait!
