Finally got around to staring this today and played through episode one. Off to a good start and I like a majority of the characters and am really interested to see where the story goes. Pretty good cliffhanger ending for episode one.

Went and finally played the first episode also. It's kind of neat seeing some of the other characters from the original game show up.

The relationship between Rachel and Chloe is really well done.

Just finished, I don't think those would really be plot holes.

Spoiler:
They just happen off screen, with the assumption that Frank wins the fight and frees Sera.

Not a bad prequel, it was fun to see Rachel getting developed and I thought they did a really good job with her. Some twists I didn't expect, although it never felt like there was anything is crazy or major decisions like there were in the original game. I thought there might be a bigger shock or rough decision to make, but it never did happen.

The bonus episode is out March 6th.

I'm currently playing through the original game (not Before the Storm) and I finished episode 3 over the weekend and can't wait to go back through the thread to see some of the decisions that people made. That cliffhanger to end the episode was fucking brutal, so I'm really looking forward to the final two episodes to see how it all wraps up. I've been pretty good so far about playing one episode a week so I don't get burned out by playing too many at once.

Re: Life is Strange (5 eps on 360,XO,PS3,PS4,PC) - Time Lords and hipsters, apply wit

I finally wrapped this up over the weekend and wow, what a great game. I'm really starting to appreciate these episodic games, because it's easier to dedicate a smaller chunk of time each weekend to play through them. This would have easily made my top 5 back in 2015 if I had played through it then. Since this was a free PS+ title, I strongly encourage more people give it a shot. And like others have said, play through the first two episodes to see if it hooks you, since you have nothing to lose but a few hours of your time. I'm really glad more games like this are getting made.

And now for the REAL answers:

I'm pretty sure I ended up over watering the plant
I kissed Chloe
I kissed Warren
I saved Kate

as for the endings
Spoiler:
I chose to save Chloe for my "real" ending (even though that ending seemed to suck compared to the other ending which I checked out afterwards. It seems like they put a lot more effort into the sacrificing Chloe ending, which didn't really seem to fit the story I had created for the characters).

And I didn't even check on the internet afterwards, but was there a way you could choose both for the ending?

I'm pretty sure the two endings are exclusive to each other (by their nature, it's impossible to get both). For the endings, clearly the developers underestimated
Spoiler:
how many people are willing to sacrifice the lives of an entire town for the life of one BFF. You selfish bastards!

Is the Max episode of Before the Storm out yet? If so, has anyone played it yet?

Well in all fairness, with all of the shit that was going down in that town over that week (snow, beached whales, tornado, etc.) you would be nuts if you stuck around. So I just viewed it like I was killing off the village idiots

And as a bigger picture, they say multiple times throughout the game that the Prescott's pretty much own the town, it was kinda satisfying to see it get destroyed along with their legacy.

Re: Life is Strange (5 eps on 360,XO,PS3,PS4,PC) - Time Lords and hipsters, apply wit

The release of Farewell signals a lot of change. With this bonus episode we’re completing the Before the Storm arc, Deck Nine Games wrap up their foray into the universe of Life is Strange and we bid a fond farewell to Max, Chloe, Rachel and all the other fan favourites of Arcadia Bay.

We hope that the hard work and love that we put into Farewell will shine through and that you feel that we do the characters that DONTNOD created justice. Without knowing if or when we might once again see these characters, Deck Nine Games took extra time and care to craft this Farewell episode into something meaningful that will stay with everyone who plays it. The original voice actors, Ashly Burch and Hannah Telle, have returned to voice younger, more innocent versions of Chloe and Max as they embark on one final pirate-themed adventure.

But when a door closes, a window opens… or, something like that. We now look forward to the coming months, when Michel Koch and Raoul Barbet’s team at DONTNOD returns to present the new story and characters of the next Life is Strange. Until then, Farewell!

So this is $5 on XBL. I assume it is worth it at that price?

This was discussed in the E3 thread, but it's a game "in the universe of" Life is Strange. And it's free.

I'm working my way through Episode 2 of Before The Storm right now with my daughter. Gotta say, I like it a lot less than Life is Strange. I think it's mostly because I kinda hate Chloe. Max was kinda sweet, kinda aloof and mostly confused by her place in the world like most teenagers. Chloe is just mad at the world. She's hostile to her recently widowed mother. She hates the school she was gifted. She's madly in love with a girl she just met (who really isn't even that nice to her). She wants to graffiti up everything she sees. She's a hard protagonist to like, or even for me to understand.

^ That's a very astute analysis of Chloe and Max. I've only played chapter 1 of Before The Storm, though. I really need to get through the rest. The game didn't grab my attention like the original did.

Having played through Before the Storm, I think it gets better. It was difficult dealing with Chloe's personality, but as you play more episodes I think I enjoyed the Rachel/Chloe relationship much more.

I still need to play that bonus episode though.

Captain Spirit is now available. Will give it a try after work tonight.

Also, Life is Strange 2 is up for pre-order for $40. That's a bit more than I expected, but maybe the episodes will be a little longer.

Also, I read that your decisions in Captain Spirit will carry over (likely in some minor insignificant way) to what happens in LiS2. So be sure to play CS on the same platform you intend to play LiS2.
