Lizard Squad kid who hacked 50 THOUSAND computers swerves jail
Judge gives 17-year-old two-year suspended sentence A Lizard Squad teenager won't spend a moment behind bars despite admitting to a Finnish court that he compromised 50,700 systems. He also pleaded guilty to other cybercrime offences. Julius "zeekill" Kivimaki, 17, received a two-year suspended prison sentence, and will have his internet activity monitored by the cops, according to newspaper Kaleva (in Finnish). Lizard Squad is best known for launching distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live services in the run-up to Christmas last year, before cynically launching a DDoS-for-hire service called LizardStresser days afterwards. Kivimaki played a key part in these offences, not least by acting as a Lizard Squad spokesman in on-air interviews about the attack with Sky News. The group's attack infrastructure was put together using thousands of hacked home internet routers. Finnish cops cuffed Kivimaki in late 2014, and charged him with a variety of offences, including network security breaches, payment fraud, and harassment. More coverage on the sentencing can be found on Daily Dot and Business Insider. ® http://www.theregister.co.uk/2015/07...es_walks_free/ -I guess this send the message to Hackers that the law don't give a shit about gaming networks. Continue Hacking! I hope Sony and MS put the little shit in financial ruin. |

- Finnish court
- Not an adult Yeah, the sentence he got was to be expected. The real message to hackers is: If you're under 18, do what you want! |
