Re: Steam Summer Sales 2014

Finally bought Skyrim last night. Opted for the $5 version instead of the deluxe, since I only made it 10 mins into Oblivion, not sure if I'll make it any further into Skyrim.

Re: Steam Summer Sales 2014

they had one hell of a deal on Skyrim Legendary Edition. $13 for all of that content was an amazing buy. The expansions are all $20 a piece by themselves I think

Re: Steam Summer Sales 2014

I picked up Batman Origins. I read some reviews that said it was buggy, but they were from near the release date. I was hoping it had been patched up since then. I played for 30 minutes yesterday and during the first boss fight I had the sound cut out and the boss flashing invisible for most of the fight. This really breaks game immersion, something which has always been a strong point of the Arkham series.

The sucky thing is that the development team moved on from patching the game and focused on DLC. And they even admitted it....

If you think the immersion is broken now you haven't seen anything yet.

Re: Steam Summer Sales 2014

Do we have a Steam trading thread? Going thru my bundles I have a bunch of doubles. I also need a Steam friend so I can get my community score up and redeem these stupid cards. Trevor Williams if anyone wants to pity my OCD here.

Re: Steam Summer Sales 2014

just picked up Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance at 50% off. I love ninja gaiden and this looks pretty close to that. I hate that it wasn't at 75% but I am worried they may not bring it back.

Re: Steam Summer Sales 2014

Saints Row IV plus all the DLC comes down to $25.29.

EDIT: Of course, had I purchased the franchise pack, it would have all been cheaper.

Re: Steam Summer Sales 2014

If you click on Castle Crashers in the current Community deals you'll see a "Can't stop Laughing" pack that includes CC and BattleBlock Theater for $2.50, only $1 more than CC alone. BBT was a daily yesterday for $3.75.

Deal expires @9PM Eastern.

Across all sales and all community votes, I don't think I've ever had one go my way. How many times does "Just Cause 2" have to go on sale before everyone who wants it has it?

Probably cutscenes, that franchise tends to go overboard with them.

That's exactly what I did today. Had the game for 360 but lost the save, so I picked it up on Steam. Love that game.

I only see it at $4.99. Was it a flash sale?

Screw it. It's just two dollars.

that was my first thought as well, but they would have had to compress the living hell out of this to be on DVD for 360 and PS3...right?

PS3 is blu-ray so not really, the 360 version though did compress it down to 9gb or so. Titanfall was around 40gb primarily from decompressed audio, I'm not sure what their excuse is for MGR:R.

Re: Steam Summer Sales 2014

Today's GOG sales have rotated and the big bundles are the entire Heroes of Might and Magic franchise for $17.44 and 11 Bullfrog classics for $9.79. It's also "adrenaline rush" day with more flash sales than normal, and apparently will feature four freebies throughout the day, one of them is up now.

Yeah, I wish they would keep popular titles like that off the votes. That game is always on sale and I agree, how does everyone not already own it?

I picked up Metro: Last Light as well. Not sure why, but now I own it so maybe I will play it one day.

I'm hoping Tropico 5 has a better sale at some point than the 25% off.

here is another thread idea:

"What games from the Steam Sale do you actually plan on playing anytime soon if ever?"

Re: Steam Summer Sales 2014

Man, Sim City was a great advertising tool for SimCity 4

Ikaruga is now $4.99, wonder if that'll hit a community sale.
