Steam Summer Sales 2014

The Steam Summer Sales for 2014 begin today. God help us all. I know we have a Video Game Deal thread, but I feel this deserves its own thread. If the mods disagree feel free to delete it. Honesty I am going to try and stay away, we'll see how that works out

Any games in particular you want to have a big sale?

I'd probably pick up Rust, Day Z or Starbound if any of them drop low enough. I havent playing PC games lately (thanks to Wii U and PSN)

Re: Steam Summer Sales 2014

I think I have 17 items on my wishlist, though a chunk of them are DLC. Hopefully they're all heavily discounted.

The Walking Dead Season 2 and The Wolf Among Us are tops on my list. I'd like to pick up South Park: The Stick of Truth, but with it still being pretty new and still $60, a 33% discount may be all there is. I may pass on it until the winter sale.

I wish the sale page would cross-reference my library for me and show me which titles I already own. I can't keep up sale after sale!

Any Steam user who doesn't use Enhanced Steam is doing it wrong.

Re: Steam Summer Sales 2014

First I've heard of it. I see it's a browser plug (whose page isn't currently loading). I've always used the official steam client and store on my PC because I work at home, I don't need to use the web store.

The Steam client is so much slower and clunkier than the website. And with ES, it's a no-brainer to use the web version.

Re: Steam Summer Sales 2014

I've installed ES and am seeing no differences in my experience. I guess I need to figure out how to use the web store in the manner of the screenshots the extension store suggested.

Once you're signed in, all of your owned titles should have a blue background, and all of your wishlist stuff should show up in green.

The only thing I am specifically looking for is Arkham Origins. It's been cheap at Greenman and others recently, but I have a balance I want to use on my Steam account.

Stick of Truth @-33% is part of one of the community deals currently being voted on.

Re: Steam Summer Sales 2014

I've bought about 50 games from GOG in the past week, so I'm adding steam to my blocklist.

Okay, it's finally starting to work. Too bad it doesn't seem to work on the Summer Sale landing page which is what I was originally referring to because that's where the daily deals and flash sales are listed. Everything else, as I understand it, can be ignored until the final day.

Is there a "Summer Sale" tag I can browse by?

Nice, I've been meaning to play the 7th Guest and 11th Hour over again. Now I see they are 50% off.

It worked during the winter sale. He might have to throw up a patch to it if Valve's sale template has changed. I'd be surprised if it still doesn't work tomorrow. Dude's a beast at putting in new features and keeping everything working.

On the flipside, I just found out I already own them and Phantasmagoria 1/2 somehow. Yaaay

aren't there certain "rules" shoppers go by. it seems like I have heard folks say unless it is a flash sale...wait. Is this true?

Re: Steam Summer Sales 2014

This is the first time I've ever had a gaming capable PC, so this Steam sale is going to be trouble.

Here's my list, which I'm sure will grow over the next week or so:
Hotline Miami
DMC
The Witcher 2

It's exactly the opposite for me.
