Re: Remastered Video Games

I think it's a good way to get an audience to play other games in the series too. After playing Ratchet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction I picked up the Ratchet & Clank Collection since I never played any of the PS2 games. But I also picked up Tomb Raider on PS4 after playing through it on 360 since I know it's a game I'll play again, so I might as well play the prettier version

Now The Master Chief Collection is something different in that it's a compilation with some extensive remastering of Halo 2 and with all those multiplayer maps in one place. That's an upgrade that to me seems worth it.
Otherwise, I can't really see myself re-buying last gen games I already own just to admire prettier graphics. Might rent some, though I suppose.
This is pretty much my line of thinking. I know I was bitching in the E3 thread, then praised the re-release of Grim Fandango out of the other side of my mouth... but to me there's a difference in paying $60 a little over a year later for a new version of a game (chump) vs. a thorough remastering of a stone cold classic (champ).
