The only benefit GAF has ever shown (and I guess Reddit is probably the same way, I just don't use it) is that there's a race to break news first. So you can pretty much know the latest stuff right away by scrolling through the first page or two of the main forum. Sites like Joystiq have this weird obsession with only posting stuff every hour on the hour (or sometimes only every half hour) and it can be up to two days later before you hear about something.

Nope.. but my account hasn't been deleted either.. so I'm chalking it up as a partial win at this moment.
