The intro is different than the PS3, that was nice to see. But the load time was atrocious.

The load time is crap when the whole damn game is on the hdd. Also, who decided that almost every single player needs to have facial hair? Matt Holliday looks like he almost has a full beard. And my other complaint is the still non-fluid like, jerky movement of the players. The game is nice but we shall see how this turns out when we try online, leagues, etc. Does anyone know how to download the official current roster?

Game is taking a while to install from the disc.

Got a free controller skin due to my wife buying the physical copy from Amazon. Should get it in a few days. :)

For all the discussion about how streaming is the future of gaming, this game looks awful on the streams I checked out. Why would anyone watch some other person play a game when it looks that blurry?

Oh I know that the Giants have a throwback hat like that, I was just wondering why they were wearing it when it was the cpu team wearing it randomly. Maybe I did it on accident, I dunno. Haven't tried online yet but I have zero expectations given the show's track record.

Two out of the three games I played against the Reds they wore camo jerseys. Really? Also, I agree with the graphics not being that impressive. The "hair" that got people all excited still looks clumped on and unrealistic. Cueto's braids just sat there and didn't move even when he was moving. Shelby Miller looks like a 12 year old and his facial expressions NEVER changes.

Player models are ok, some of the hair is downright awful. The stadiums on the other hand are gorgeous.

well I was able to get a whole 1 exhibition game in tonight .... started late but loading took way too long

and go figure my game goes 12 innings
played Cubs vs White Sox at Wrigley .... had Samardzija pitch a no no through 7.2 innings and was able to hold them scoreless until I had a double and then a walkoff single/RBI in the bottom of the 12th

wasn't as impressed with the game as I thought I would be .... it looked nice but in no way inFAMOUS nice (which has set the new visual bar)
will need some work with my gameplay mechanics as it has been a few versions since I have played The Show

As much as InFamous looked nice, it's not nearly as satisfying to play as this game. So addicting.

just a quick follow up
I walked away from the game for a bit and when I came back it was playing in demo mode and I didn't want to stop looking at it

the game really is beautiful looking and does at most times represent a baseball game the best I think a videogame possibly could

we sure have come a long way

Ditto on that, I found myself slipping on simple things like keeping track of my baserunners.
I only got to play one exhibition as well and lost a combined no-hit bid (Strasberg got injured in the 3rd) in the 6th. And my first hit was a big fly.
Ultimately lost the game 4-1 despite outhitting the computer 8-4.

The game is beautiful to look at in many ways but I can't forgive their laziness with the character models of players I am used to watching in real life. I hope they will go back and correct some of their appearances. Holliday, Wacha and baby Miller are three that come to mind and I played three games will the Cardinals and all 3 were against the Reds.

yeah, fortunately this doesn't effect me as I stopped watching baseball many years ago .... I have a hard time even recognizing any of the current players in the game

Still, you can't tout a game based on realism and then have current players that are not scrubs look really generic.

I have my pre-order at Gamestop, which I will hopefully pick up today.

For those who bought it, how are the controls? Are they really complicated? I haven't bought a baseball game in 3-4 years and the 2K games for XBox were never really that great. I was sold on The Show from the start and I'm really excited to get cracking on it.

they kind of range from changing them to simple to much more complicated depending on how comfortable you are at certain aspects of the game (hitting, fielding, pitching)

it can definitely be intimidating at first glance

I usually let the cpu auto field and I throw. I up the contact % and power % for my hitters and up the % of strikes the cpu throws. I know I should be ashamed... but I'm not.
