Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

Someone leaked a actual map of the city to give everyone an idea of just how large this is going to be. Now someone has done one better. Here is a link to where a screen shot of the Notre Dame Cathedral is at top and on the maps you'll see a tiny Red Dot marking the location. They're saying it'll be the "Most Dense and Immersive AC City Ever"...

It kind of makes you wonder how great an Assassin's Creed game Ubisoft could potentially make if they made say, one new game every two years instead of two new games every year.

Really wish they would have delayed until next year. 7 games in 7 years (not including the PSP, Vita, and this years 360/PS3 games) is too much.

Not hurting me one bit...still on board and just gives me two extra weeks to play with Destiny which will be ongoing. This game will rock...

The more I see of this the more I'm convinced this might turn out to be the best looking game of the year with far more to do than previous AC games.

Can't be the best looking game of the year. It's only 900p.

900p or 1080p...don't think it'll matter with this game.

I wonder if it's a matter of bowing down to the lowest-common-denominator. Seems like multi-platform games are getting hobbled on the stronger system (however slightly) just so there won't be any bitching.

It's a good thing they locked it to 900p & 30fps. If not, they might have had "debates & stuff"

Makes it easy for me to skip this one on release and get Far Cry 4 and GTA V instead during November. Unless the system can't handle 1080p then there is no reason to "lock it down" at a lower resolution or fps. A little discouraging that we are already running into this within the first year of these "next-gen" consoles. Maybe not sell shit next time.

I still want it for online co-op play. Far Cry 4 doesn't have that, does it?

It does have some co-op but it is not 4 player. I will likely get this when it is about 30 bucks or so with my GCU.

Oh yeah, Far Cry 3 had some sort of co-op but they were stupid hard missions, separate from the main story. My friend and I tried them, but we quickly gave up because it was constant brutal failure with only 2 players.

So everyone is butthurt, because it's 900p as opposed to 1080p?

Fuck, your TV should upscale that 180p difference, you know.

Re: Assassin's Creed V (Unity? 18th-Century Paris) -- Fall 2014; Two Games Possible

Stupid for them to deliberately lock it down; especially since I think it's a fairly negligible difference opposed to say 720 vs 1080. They should take advantage of the extra power, and already it just brings up speculation that Microsoft threw money at them to keep it that way. Dumb comment to bring up, dumb move to even make.

That said, it's funny how much resolution and graphics has become such a big stink and controversy this generation; I don't recall people complaining so much over graphical differences last generation beyond "Oh, some multiplatform games look better" and people seemed to get over the fact that most games were less then 720P pretty quickly. Now every game is under the microscope.

Ryse looked amazing in 900p. It sucked, but it looked amazing. I've got no problems with 900p/30 FPS if that's what it takes to have hundreds of Parisians on the streets at once.

Well, specifically the butthurt is that the PS4 is probably capable of better and that the developer said they're purposely keeping it the same.
