IGN thought it was amazing with a 9.5

http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/08/...isode-5-review

Polygon not so much with a 7.

Just finished it. Was the "My Choices" page of this episode blank for anyone else?

Re: The Walking Dead: Season Two (Telltale Games)

Mine showed up just fine. My choices -

Spoiler:

Went for Cover
Didn't try to help Luke
Didn't ask to leave with Mike
Shot Kenny
With Jane and the family

Curious how things would have went given the different options. At the end, I was so sick of Kenny's shit that I couldn't wait to get rid of him. It seems like the game can end with you alone, with Kenny, or with Jane? I ended up with Jane back at Carvers, and then let this new family in. I need to look up how it ends with the other options.

Bonnie seemed to turn against me rather quickly that it felt out of character. Especially her and the other guy wanting to go with Arvo and ditch me. Those jerks! I was sad to see Luke go, other then Jane he was my next liked character. I tried to cover him, but he eventually falls in and I had to try and bash the ice but I watch him drown. I guess if you go and help him a walker grabs him and also drowns anyway.

EDIT: Looks like YouTube has clips of the different endings.

Overall a decent season, but it was hard for me to relate with a lot of the new characters this season and it seemed like the last few episodes were just way too much back and forth between the same characters that it got old and annoying. Not nearly as good as the first season or Wolf Among Us.

Given the different options for the ending, i'm curious what Season 3 will entail.

I thought it was amazing. Especially the flashback and ending sequences. Overall I'm very happy with the season, despite the non-stop stupidity of alot of the cast, and look forward to purchasing the physical copy.

As for my choices, I was in the minority for all except Loyalty.

I enjoyed the finale, but I still feel overall season 1 was stronger.

I decided to go it alone.

Re: The Walking Dead: Season Two (Telltale Games)

Loved the flashback scene.

That was a tough decision at the end. I ended up
Spoiler:
taking out Kenny. Fucker was just becoming unstable.

Clementine rolling
Spoiler:
alone with the baby in her arms is a pretty funny ending. No way she'd be able to take care of herself and the baby. Speaking of babies, how the fuck are they feeding that thing?

Also, was the grass scene on the hill supposed to be the scene from the end of season 1? Sure looked like it. Ok, I see that my ending is much different, so you didn't get to see if it you didn't do what I did above.

^I had the same thought about Clem with the baby. It was mentioned in this episode that they had some baby formula, though I don't recall where they got it from.

I didn't make the final choice.

So I was surprised to see Jane let the family in.

Re: The Walking Dead: Season Two (Telltale Games)

I was in the minority for the last couple choices...

Spoiler:
I decided not to shoot either thus it killed Jane, then when we got to the town, I took the baby and went in, and let Kenny to go on his own. I knew Kenny was unstable but I was loyal since I had known him the longest. Some tough choices in the later half of this episode.

Re: The Walking Dead: Season Two (Telltale Games)

I completed The Walking Dead Season 2 on Android today.

My overall impressions...
Spoiler:

- Tavia from the 400 Days DLC turning out to be a militant bitch really surprised me. And I was disappointed that more of the characters from the DLC factored so little in the game. (And I got them ALL to go along with Tavia).

- Although Season 2 was not as great as Season 1, mainly due to not have a character like Lee in it, I did eventually like controlling Clementine's character in this. And I do want to see more of Clementine in future games, maybe make them track her growing up, so with each new Season, she's a few years older.

- Whatever happened to Christa? And why were we never told what happened to her baby at the beginning, especially with all that baby name talk?

- Carver was a great villain and the Howe's Hardware compound was a great location for the zombie apocalypse.

- After escaping Howe's Hardware, I didn't understand why returning to the Ski Lodge was not even considered at all by the group, given that it presumably still had a decent amount of canned food (beans and peaches) and it also had its own power source (which was renewable to boot!).

- The dream sequence with Lee was great. I wonder how the variety of responses change what he says in it.

- Kenny's instability varied a lot, but I did notice that Clem could calm him down better than anyone else.

On the different endings...
Spoiler:

Although I didn't like Jane getting killed, I think the best overall ending was:
- letting Kenny kill Jane
- taking AJ and going north with Kenny
- staying at Wellington with AJ as Kenny leaves on his own

The ending scene at Wellington as Clementine says a final goodbye to Kenny was the best of the alternate ending and the closest any of the endings came to the emotional strength of the Season 1 ending with Lee's death.

Also achieving the stated goal of reaching the rumored dream location of Wellington and letting Kenny succeed at making sure his latest family (Clem & AJ) are safe completed his character's story arc pretty well. Despite his flaws, if Kenny thought of someone as a part of his family, he would sacrifice anything and everything to watch out for them. So I think this was by far the best ending for Season 2.

My daughter and I just finally finished this last night.
Although we ended up
Spoiler:
shooting Kenny (reluctantly), set off with Jane and let the family in (seriously, why not since the episode is ending anyway and we could use some help). It was an ending that made logical sense, at least from the most pragmatic view. It wasn't very emotionally satisfying though, and a lot of things didn't make any sense : all the zombies are dead or gone, there's still supplies. Nobody came to the Howe's this whole time we've been gone, but another family shows up five minutes after we get there, we traveled for nine days with a baby but no milk or formula?

Anyway, I did a rewind on another game save file and I totally agree with you that your ending is a LOT more emotionally satisfying than mine where things just....end.

I'd certainly be up for a Season 3 but wonder if they could even still use Clem since the various endings are so different, it would be hard to start out the next episode on a uniform starting point.

Does it have good replay value (with all the different ends mentioned, is it easy to get all of them?). Worth the buy?

Re: The Walking Dead: Season Two (Telltale Games)

Well I don't think there's a lot of replay value unless you just want to see how everyone would act if your character behaved completely differently to everyone they met. I still highly recommend everyone experience the game once. It's a very emotional and sometimes gut-wrenching experience. Each season will take about 10 hours to complete.

Both Seasons 1 & 2 are on sale for $6.25 each until tomorrow morning in the PS4 Flash Sale.
