Respawn's TITANFALL has landed (PC/Xbox One/360)!
The first game from Respawn Entertainment is called Titanfall, and will be published for Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Windows PC, according to the July cover of Game Informer magazine which has been posted to NeoGAF.
NeoGAF user "Cartman86" wrote that the cover was downloaded to his tablet by Google Play, through which he subscribes to Game Informer. According to the poster, Titanfall is multiplayer-focused and makes extensive use of the cloud, and the Xbox 360 version is in development with another studio.
"After a bitter split with Activision and Call of Duty, Respawn debuts its bold vision for next-gen multiplayer," reads the magazine cover, which bears the picture of a woman shooting down at a mech.
Attempting to purchase the issue through Google Play now returns an error message.
In February, Respawn co-founder Vince Zampella tweeted that the studio would be at E3 2013 and had "no intention of showing up empty handed." In April, Kotaku reported the company's debut title would be an exclusive to Xbox 360 and Microsoft's then-unnamed next generation Xbox. The report called the game Titans. That same month Respawn filed a trademark for Titanfall.

Been waiting for their announcement. Could be the big Xbox exclusive that everyone is saying Microsoft doesn't have.
I wonder how this will compare to Bungie's Destiny, with the multiplayer focus.

How can this be an "exlcusive" if it's also coming out for PC?
Also, this new "cloud" buzzword is hilarious. If it makes extensive use of the "cloud", then how the hell is a 360 or PC version going to work?

cloud is not exactly "new", but yeah, it is all over the place.
Sad that it makes the less savvy people think that it is actually in clouds or the air, instead of online servers.

Okay.. I thought you guys were alluding to this being one of the 15 XBone exlusives. They've gone on record saying that those titles will not have a 360 version made, and will truly be exclusive to that platform (at least for consoles, no word on PC).

360 version or not, this is still a big get.

A nice article on the studio, and some details about the game.

"One of the new things … is taking advantage of the cloud to put our dedicated servers there, to eliminate things like host advantage and things like that, and introduce more stable experiences for our players," Zampella says. But Titanfall’s server-based backbone goes beyond the traditional benefits of dedicated servers for multiplayer games. "It allows us to offload all AI processing, all that single-player stuff, onto the cloud."
The "single-player stuff" Zampella alludes to includes the basic scripting and control of the world itself. All non-player activity is determined server-side, whether it’s AI "popcorn" or the massive ships that often hover over the battlefield. There are multiple practical benefits to this arrangement. Instead of having world events determined in one player’s session and uploading that information to the multiplayer server, which would then be distributed to each player, locational and movement data for the various parts of Titanfall are distributed to each player simultaneously.
"Being able to know we have those servers available allows us to focus on other things," Baker says. It also frees up system resources for the game running on a console or PC. "Before we decided to do that, our plan was to have (two of six available) threads dedicated to that, to running the 'server' on one of the (player) clients. It gives us more CPU available on the console than we’d have."

Any word as to when the ETA for XO is for this?
This could be the "Gears" for the Xbox One....looks stunning but like to hear more of the game and future series.

Sexy looking game and from the gameplay I've seen The controls look super responsive. I'm truly jealous that this will be a console exclusive. Looks like Microsoft's money will be well spent.

Word has it that it may be a timed exclusive when all is said and done.

I apparently missed this, but this doesn't even have a single player mode? It's all multiplayer? That alone might dissuade me from purchasing this at all.

It's all mutliplayer, but reading the Verge article makes it sound like they have some sort of single player experience, but its still online.

Let's put it plainly: will PlayStation owners ever see Titanfall?
"It's definitely not out of the question," Emslie replied. "We have a huge appreciation for the fans. Coming out and showing it to everybody, we're super nervous and wanted to make sure everybody loved it. We love all our fans, whatever console they support.
"So yeah. We want to make everybody happy, but this is where we're at right now."

It should launch on PC, 360 and Xbox One around the same time.

Team Fortress 2 doesn't have a single player mode and it's one of the best games released within the past decade.
I also think most who have played the game would agree with me considering it's the second most played game on Steam every day despite being over five years old.

Even though I play COD and Battlefield online, the main appeal for me is the single player campaign.
I wasn't paying much attention and didn't realize this was a multiplayer-only game. If there isn't a decent single player campaign, I'll not so sure I'll pick this up.
