So where exactly is this "club" on the dashboard? I get the preview updates as well, and for the life of me I don't see where this is.

Yeah, on the Community tab on the top right. It's a very small icon, relatively speaking.

Well despite the fact that I swear I'm on the preview for updates, I'll get a couple a week sometimes. I don't have the ability to get into clubs? I went to the Community tab and I don't see the option to join a club, oh well

Go to settings and see if there is an update to apply. I actually did it that way.

Axiom Verge coming Sept 30th. Been meaning to play this, so might just get the XBox version.
