re: Xbox One: S $249 Now / X $499 November 7 2017
Im picking up the Xbox one S this weekend. Can anyone verify if the VUDU app will stream 4K? VUDU doesn't support either one my LG 4K tv's yet

As far as I know it will stream 4K. However, the One S doesn't support Dolby Vision (yet, if ever), just hdr10, so the benefit will be with resolution only, which still looks good but just won't shine without Dolby Vision.

LG Super UHD TVs support both HDR10 and Dolby Vision...

The Xbox One Vudu app is garbage. Unless they've updated it recently, don't expect to stream 4k.
Netflix app can do 4k, but you have to be on the 4k plan.

I have the upgrade through Netflix and watch most of my 4K from there. I hate how vudu only supports a few 4K tvs and now not even the Xbox S. Ridiculous

I started a Wiki with all of the backwards compatible games so far. 226 and growing. So if you see some new ones, feel free to add them.

That does suck, but even worse is that the One S doesn't support bitstreaming, so no Dolby Atmos and what not. Probably not a deal breaker for most, but I'd like to have the most cinematic experience at home as possible (and in many ways, I have a better picture than what I can get at my local theater). Perhaps the Scorpio will fix these insufficiencies.

Is anyone else having problems opening the full wiki list? I clicked on the "Click here to display full wiki" text, but it does nothing.

Don't have the super nice surround sound just a decent sound bar so not too disappointed. I'd rather have quality picture right now than sound
i noticed now under settings it shows how many game and apps are ready for download. Can you hit a button and install them all or still just put them in the que one by one?

Unless you see an install all button, I think you just have to go one by one. Correct me if I'm wrong folks. It probably is set up that way for folks with data caps. They'll all be in your que and it should take too long depending on your connection.

Going forward, new game purchases should download automatically to your primary XB1.

Ok a few issues. I have the system set it "instant on" it's not happening. When I restart the Xbox it starts from scratch (green start up and not downloading games)
Also the controller is synced but won't turn on the Xbox when I press the home button. Weird

Anyone know if the upcoming remastered "BioShock: The Collection" is going to kill the Backwards compatibility planned for those titles? The Halo games in the Master Chief Collection are basically the only MS 360 titles not BC. However, Gears of War Remastered included the original games BC as a pre-order bonus.

Oldboy hacked his account... (as if Oldboy could hack anything...)
Why don't you just use the list on Xbox.com or Major Nelson?

Earthlock: Festival of Magic Announced as a September Games With Gold Offering
Major Nelson and the Xbox Wire have revealed the first Games With Gold title for September. Earthlock: Festival of Magic, Snowcastle Games' love letter to the JRPG genre, will be releasing free on Xbox One September 1st. The Kickstarter success offers classic turn-based combat infused with Western gameplay elements and wrapped in a unique art style.
"This westernized turn-based RPG, which in subtle ways reveals its Scandinavian origin, starts as a simple quest, but develops into an involved journey. Play as Amon and join several unlikely heroes to save Umbra, a beautiful but harsh world that mysteriously stopped spinning thousands of cycles ago. Mix up your strategy to beat your enemies by crafting ammo and materials, harvesting elemental plants, and customizing your characters’ talent tree."
The other three Games With Gold titles for September will be announced next week.
