Re: Have any of your video game consoles died?
Yes
My original NES became unplayable years after use.
My launch PS2 would selectively play discs about 4-5 years in probably needs a new laser.
My 80 GB PS3 yellow lighted after 4 years. It had it repaired and YLOD again in 2 weeks. Repaired a second time and has been fine since. Now used primarily for streaming movies and digital copy games.

My PS2 died for a while after my dog grab the cord and ran with it, causing it to fly off the top shelf and crash onto the floor.
It started working again later.

Yes my original Xbox 360 from 2005 got the RROD around 2007 or so. I still have my 2nd Xbox 360 that I bought shortly afterwards.

My 2006 Xbox RROD'ed in 2009.
My 2007 Phat PS3 60 GB died early this year. They replaced it with a slim model for $100.
My PS4 that I got on Thursday died tonight, five days later. That's a record that will be hard to top.

I think my Atari 2600 died at some point.
My first 2 Game Boys broke, but that wasn't Nintendo's fault. My third from around 1992 still works.
My first PS3 had a faulty blu-ray laser that stopped working after 2 1/2 years. After I replaced it, everything still works fine.
I think that's about it.

Yup. My 60 GB PS3 fat. It also died after it was repaired. My slim is still going strong.

I had two 360's die on me. A launch unit with a video issue and it's replacement died from the RROD. I also had a launch PS2 die on me. My launch 60GB PS3 is still going strong though!

My launch day 360 died on launch day and I went through 5 replacements over this past generation. The 360 is the only console death I have had. I have been gaming since the early 80s.

I lost 4 Xbox 360's.
I also lost an NES when it flew out the 2nd story of my friend's cottage. I lost my 3rd straight game of RBI Baseball and went into game rage.

Yes. I have both models of the PS3 launch systems and both got the YLOD last year. I still want to get them fixed though because they are the backwards compatible versions. I've also lost two original X-Box's due to disc drives dying (a very common problem) and got RROD'd with my 2007 360. My Gameboy Advance SP recently lost its screen. I also lost an original PS. But that pretty much stems from me throwing out of a second story window when I couldn't get past the final boss in Parasite Eve.
Other than that (knock on wood) I'm a-ok. Heck, my Nintendo 64 has had liquid dropped on it, endured an armada of frat parties, been in a freezing cold storage unit and left outside during a South Texas summer and still boots up with no issues whatsoever. Whoever manufactured that is a genius.

I went through about 4 xbox360s trying to fix launch issue RRoD. My Sega CD contacts stopped working so it was useless (I was young so I didn't have a clue what to do with it).
My original Xbox still works, my Dreamcast still works, sold my NES and Genesis when I was still a kid. My PS2 got dropped on the floor and shattered in middle of a game of Guitar Hero during college.
On a side note, The Xbox 360 really is the only console that people seem to own multiple ones of
I always wondered how much that inflated their sales numbers. I personally own 3 - 1 got banned from Live by playing a legit copy of MW2 on a modded system, and 1 had a hardware failure that wasn't RRoD.
Thankfully I had the HDD and just prior to the slim, Walmart was selling 360s for $199 w/ $100 Gift Card which I managed to sell to a co-worker who did the same and also sold his GC, woohoo $99 360s

i may have had an original playstation that crapped the bed. fortunately, i worked at a video game store and could get repairs done. i don't exactly recall.
i know i had one xbox RROD on me. fortunately, after i got the refurb, i traded that to gamestop in one of those crazy deals, which netted me one of the newer xbox elites for nearly nothing.

Atari 2600, Atari 5200, NES, PS1, PS3 Fat.
Amazingly, every Nintendo console since the NES has been a rock. My SNES, N64, GC and Wii are all going strong.

Re: Have any of your video game consoles died?
No, with an asterisk. I sold off a 360 I bought in 2006 and found out it did RROD.
I sold my 60GB PS3 back when the slims came out. Not sure if that one ever YLOD'd or not.
