Rumor on the official forum is the Halloween color palette and possibly more Halloween themed items or events are coming this weekend. Keep alert.

I finally got my Nyx components. It took weeks before I even saw an infestation much less one that had Phorid on a planet I had fully unlocked. I haven't built the frame yet because I spent all of my credits on Valkyr, not sure when I'd ever see an infestation. Valkyr is pretty interest, a berserker class, but very squishy and I think I need some better mods to fully appreciate it, I kind of die a lot of I'm not careful. I maxed out grakata which was an awesome gun and now I'm using burston, saving up credits to build a Nyx.

Valkyr is kind of terrible unless she's modded out in a very specific way. I'd bench her for a while.
Grakata is a solid low level gun, but I wouldn't put a catalyst on it.

Shark. Jumped.

I bought the bat wing shoulder armor. Didn't give it a second thought. F'ing bat wings? Hell yeah!

Movember buddy!
I got my Halloween color pallette and ran one of the Halloween cache missions. It was a waste of time. I may bite on the batwing armor if it is still available.

Re: Warframe (PC, PS4, XB1) - Ninjas Play Free
So, Update 15 is out. The timing is perfect for me, because I've hit a real wall with Destiny (just doing raids and weeklies these days.
Anyway, some of the highlights:
Every warframe now has their 4 abilities automatically installed and has 8 other slots for mods. It used to be 6 slots plus 4 ability slots, which you could convert to maximize some powers at the expense of losing others. This system is better, and is a real game-changer, especially on frames where I only used two abilities and forma'd the others out (Nova, Trinity, Vauban, etc.) They also refunded any forma you'd previously spend on converting ability slots, which in my case was quite a few (25-30 forma).
Archwing. I don't really know much about this yet, but my first one should be done cooking, so I'll check it out tonight. From the videos I've seen, it looks like really fast paced fighting in open space, and it looks like of awesome.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/3_L6ZskkyLs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
New warframe: Limbo. Seems to have potential, but probably not my cup of tea, and definitely ripe for trollish behavior.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/ka6_NNs9MX8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Tons of other weapons and stuff, and there are now factions that you can join.
Destiny has absolutely decimated the player base for Warframe, but I still think Warframe is the better game overall.

I know I'm the only one left who cares about this game, but I have to say...the Archwing is fucking amazing. If you ever wanted an anime space mecha game that's super fast paced with crazy volleys of missiles and shields, the Archwing levels are that in spades. And the controls are incredibly intuitive.
I also recommend going into your settings and maxing out the field of view setting, especially for the Archwing levels, but also for the rest of the game. Pulling that camera back really helps a lot.

I'm still with ya buddy! But, Destiny still has its claws in me at the moment. I will try to log in soon to at least get an Archwing cooking (I have to read the wiki as not sure what to do).

Update 15.5 came out yesterday. Highlights:
New frame: Mesa
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/29nFicujxn4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
She's kind of a pain in the ass to get, but she looks pretty fun...sort of like a gunslinger version of Ash.
Also Nova Prime, Soma Prime and the Redeemer, a freaking gunblade!
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/u3nD5JBmUMA" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
And some new Archwing weapons and new loading screens with customizable ships.
When Destiny disappoints, Warframe delivers.

I tried playing Warframe at PS4 launch, and just could not get into it. It seemed so deliberately dense and inaccessible that I was totally turned off.
Then, after suffering the same Destiny burnout, I decided to give it a try again a couple weeks ago. Somewhere in this past year, they've updated and refined the holy hell out of Warframe, especially the tutorials and menus, and have made it a much more streamlined experience. And I think I really, really like it.
I still haven't gotten past the first planet. I'm only playing for a bit here and there, but I'll be damned if this didn't turn out to be a fine game.

Now it's much more polished and streamlined with tons of unique content and gameplay options and all kinds of crafting and customizing. I still appreciate the good times I have in Destiny with so many other people playing it, but it's comical how much Warframe is doing right and how much Destiny is doing wrong. Hell, I have Christmas decorations in my ship! But marketing always wins, I guess.
If you ever want some help, or need a few tips, just ask on here or find me online and ask. I'm also the newly minted Warlord of the official NeoGAF clan, so I can hook you up with a clan invite as well.

It's an incredible game. Easily my favorite game on PS4 and one of my favorite games ever. Even in its early "beta" phases where you played, there was a ton of fun to be had, but it was admittedly a little tougher to get to and was fairly buggy.

And I'd love a clan invite! I'm not on much, and probably can't help with anything at all, but I'd love to have others to play with once I start co-op.

Re: Warframe (PC, PS4, XB1) - Ninjas Play Free
I would love for the disappointment Destiny to have more XO gamers jump to Warframe. I <3 Warframe but had nobody with whom to play online or work with me at all. I eventually just stopped logging into it.
And I kind of hate that fact.

I can't really speak to the following the game has on XO, but that is a shame. I'd suggest hitting the recruiting channel on the in-game chat and maybe finding a clan.
Or buy a PS4.

Re: Warframe (PC, PS4, XB1) - Ninjas Play Free

I considered it for a bit. There were several games last gen I wanted to play and missed out because I was Xbox only (like I really wanted to play Heavy Rain). But every time I consider doubling down on systems I realize I haven't played all the games I want on the system I own... and not due to a plethora of games but due to time constraints. That and when I finally have some time to game it is easy to just "meh, couple rounds of CoD and then done."

But do try to find an active clan in recruiting. It will help a lot.

To be honest, I don't even understand how to communicate with people in the various channels that scroll by when I am on my ship. The interface is so unlike all other Xbox games and the lack of hand holding makes me feel like my grandfather trying to troubleshoot his network.

On the PS4, the options button (assume it would be your Xbox button) brings up the menu. Then L2 (left trigger) opens the chat, and you can scroll through chat tabs with L1 and L2 (bumpers). One of the options will be recruiting, which is where clans will recruit, or you can just say "I need a clan" and somebody will probably hit you up.

Re: Warframe (PC, PS4, XB1) - Ninjas Play Free
Follow up from Update 15:
Mesa: She's quite good. Or at least she's a lot of fun. It's tough to say how she'll hold up in high level content.
Archwing: Holy shit amazing. Probably the best space combat I've ever played. Sounds like hyperbole, but it isn't. It's not really fleshed out yet, and it plays as sort of a side quest to the game proper, but they have absolutely nailed the mechanics.
Limbo: Fucking terrible. Interesting concept, but you cringe every time you're matched up with one because he's mostly used by trolls and/or people who don't know what they are doing.
Nova Prime and Soma Prime: They're Nova and Soma fucking Prime, which is to say they are among the best equipment available in the game.
Syndicates: A lot more interesting than I thought they'd be. They offer unique mods and weapons and the weapons and mods can be sold/traded. So you pick your syndicates, but you can always trade for stuff from the others. People are farming rep which is basically extrapolated from XP, but you can also just put on the syndicate marks and play as you normally would and get bonus stuff along the way. So it's a new currency, but it's not terribly in your face. And the syndicates you make enemies of will send squads of invaders after you in random levels sort of like Stalker or G3, which is a mechanic that I love. It's like a good plot twist in the middle of a level. It's all pretty cool IMO.
Overall, this is among the best updates I've seen in Warframe in terms of content. I'd say that the DVD Talk crew who likes Destiny would LOVE Warframe if they gave it half a chance...for free. And it stinks, because really the only thing keeping me in Destiny at all is the fact that so much of my friends list is still playing it for some reason.

Re: Warframe (PC, PS4, XB1) - Ninjas Play Free
Dropped in to Warframe for a bit last night. Took me a good while to get my bearings again but it started to come back slowly. I ended up taking my Rhino Prime out for a spin to work on the Archwing quest. I got all of the parts, started to cook them, and will cook the Archwing tonight. Can't wait to try it out.
Also, it took me a bit to realize how the Archwing quest extractor mission worked... I kept bailing after the first extractor finished getting the artifact not realizing that I needed to let three extractors finish in the same mission (for some reason I thought the artifact reward was random). I ended up with 4 Archwing systems blueprints before I finally figured out why I wasn't getting the wings and chassis prints. Doh!
Felt good to be back. I like how you can paint and decorate the interior of your ship though I don't have any decos for it yet. I joined the syndicate (Cephalon Suda) Chess recommended to me so I can start that part of the game, which is new since I last played.
Chess, I'll need your help on how to loadout my frames now that its abilities are not tied to mods. Guess we can start with Rhino Prime and Nova. I want to start leveling up Vauban too.

Glad you got the Archwing. It was a real surprise to me how fun they are, because I had pretty low expectations. They have some fleshing out to do on the Archwing content, but the mechanics are terrific.

- Efficiency: Streamline and rank 3 Fleeting Expertise for 70% efficiency
- Duration: Continuity and Constitution for 18% (after -40% for Fleeting)
- Range: Stretch to increase explosion size and for Wormhole
- Power: Intensify
- Defense: Whatever 2 mods you normally use, Rage/Quick Thinking in my case
For Rhino Prime, he's basically the same build as he always was except now he gets a bonus mod slot, and there's a new corrupted mod called Transient Fortitude (plus power/minus duration) that I use on him instead of Blind Rage.
- Efficiency: Streamline and rank 3 Fleeting Expertise for 70% efficiency
- Power: Intensify and Transient Fortitude for +80%
- Range: Stretch +45%
- Defense: Probably Redirection and Vitality
- Bonus slot: I throw on Continuity to regain 30% of the duration loss from Fleeting (-40%) and Transient Fortitude (-25%). It helps for Roar, but you could probably make a case for a Flow (energy pool) or Rush (run speed).
You can go in a lot of different directions with Vauban depending on how you want to play him and how big/strong/efficient you want his Bastille to be. I run my normal 2 efficiency mods, normal 2 defense mods, R7 Narrow Minded, Stretch, Intensify, and something else...maybe Continuity. It gives me a cheap and decent sized Bastille and doesn't seem to have a negative effect on Vortex.
Hope that helps, and it's nice to see you put Destiny down for a bit. If I didn't already have the next expansion paid for, I'd be 100% done with that game. Would love to see some of the other Destiny guys in Warframe, because I know a lot of them would love it, especially the "collectors" in the group. It's also a lot more drop-in/drop-out social, which seems to better fit our varying time frames.
How did the NeoGAF clan look late on a weeknight? Hopefully a few of the international guys were on.

Archwing parts built. Went to build the Archwing and I was fresh out of Orokin Cells. Can't remember, farm on Semeini Ceres?
Yup, no potato on Nova. Worked out in my favor even though you were always on my case to potato her.
I have the Arcane Vanguard Helm for Rhino now so do you still recommend Rush? I'll look for the Transient mod now too.
I also can build (assuming I have the mats) Ember Prime, Frost Prime, Mirage, and Nekros. Who should I build next?
I stayed on for around 1.5 hours after you logged and there were about 5-6 people still on (Blaise and Mccareen were the only names I recognized).

Advice needed.
I want to get back into Warframe. However I play on the XO and nobody I know plays it so I will be mostly doing things solo.
Previously I was struggling in really knowing what to do solo at all and failing missions.
So help me out. As a solo player... what should I be running to (slowly obviously) level up and start improving my gear?
