I usually use a phone headset that came with my work blackberry. It plugs right into the controller. Convenient and comfortable.
I'll be on Warframe quite a bit this weekend, I suspect. I just got a couple of new weapons and a new frame that I need to level up. I'm 90% sure you're on my friends list so just shoot me a note if you see me on and want a live tutorial...and some freebies.

re: Warframe (PC, PS4, XB1) - Ninjas Play Free
Got around 2100-2200 my first couple of times doing the Shield run. Had a Frost pumping out the snowglobes with me iron skinning my rhino underneath the shield. We didn't have a Mag but had a Loki and one other.
Finally got my Ember Prime Chassis after 2 weeks of T2 Caps. Now to work on Rhino Prime parts, getting more Oxium for the Zephyr, and those last few mods I need to find.
Is the Akbronco prime essentially going to be 2x as good as a single bronco prime?

Great to have another in the Warframe mix...never to late to the party as they say.
I took Chess advice and I use the ear plug set that came with my phone and it's fine. I've got a decent set of headphones but they are corded. I actually like having one ear open...the chat sounds fine to me.
There's a lot more to Warframe than I ever thought when I first started so don't get overwhelmed at first. If anything just play a lot and there are no shortages of getting in randoms which I have to say have been fairly more positive than some other games. Get use to your Warframe plus the more you play the more experience and the more resources you get...which is really important especially the "Mods". These are like "Wild Cards" in the help add substance and power to your Warframe and weapons.
Also head over to the Warframe Wiki and official site, great place of information and by all means sign up to post on the forums. FWIW...Chess is really good and knowledgeable on this .Couple of us play together and get along fine though I probably have him scratching his head more often than not on some careless silly antics from time to time....

Chess...I'll be on this evening (5-6 central) and maybe if Sith is on we can do the run. I came close to jumping in a random but it's far better with friends.

Chess, I sent you a message last night via PS4 but never got a response. It was about which character I should choose. I ended up going with the Excalibur character.

Loki is really a complete package especially solo. Maxing out duration on Invisibility he can stay cloaked for a great deal of time. His Decoy comes in handy and Radial Disarm is great with groups taking arms away with enemies forced to use melee. Plus he's the fastest in the game. Properly equipped he is a real force in any mission.

Easiest and best way to start in my opinion. I've got a lot of hours under my belt but am still trying to fully figure out Loki.

Loki...http://warframe.wikia.com/wiki/Loki_%28Warframe%29
You also want to try and get the Essence helmet...grants +15% Efficiency with just -5% Armor
Duration is the key with Loki, especially with Teleport and Invisibility. there is no negative effect. With Radial Disarm there is; reduce area of effect. But when you use Invisibility you really don't need to worry to much about radius since you can get close to the target. Having a properly setup Galatine sword is a great way of getting up close cloaked, throw radial disarm and then melee. Plain & simple.
For Duration you want Constitution, Continuity and Narrow Minded Mods. One can almost stay cloaked for 25-30 seconds. Add to the fact he is the fastest in the game...speed with invisibility is a hard combo to beat. The only downside is he really is not meant for say Defend type missions where each character really needs a good AoE for the team which is his only weakness.

re: Warframe (PC, PS4, XB1) - Ninjas Play Free
I would have suggested Mag. She has a nice stable of powers that are effective against lower level enemies, and she doesn't rely on parkour or melee skills like Excalibur does or on mods you don't have like Loki does.
Here's a set of recommendations I gave tlwizard a while back, which might help you as well. Also note that you can now get a ridiculously easy 50 platinum in PS Home on PS3 (seriously).
Nothing wrong with Excalibur Wiz, but be aware that he's the most "vanilla" frame in the game, so he might cause you to not "get" what we're so into about the game.
After looking into it, I think you should have:
Starter: 50 Platinum
Preorder: PlayStation Braton Rifle weapon skin, 50 Platinum, and 20,000 Credits
PS Plus: 100 Platinum, 50,000 Credits, Falcon Mod Pack, 3-Day Affinity Booster, 3-Day Credit Booster
200 is correct. So what to spend it on?
I would buy
5 packs of 2 weapons slots at 12p each: 60p
3 extra warframe slots at 20p each: 60p
2 Orokin Reactors at 20p each: 40p
2 Orokin Catalysts at 20p each: 40p
The starter rifle, pistol and sword are fine at low levels, but I don't recommend using a Catalyst on them, as it would ultimately be a waste. Your first Catalysts (commonly called potatos) should probably be for a sword called "Galatine"...[edit: I'd pick some of the "prime" weapons from the void now].
Your four extra frame slots (if you follow my buying advice) should be filled with Rhino (parts on Venus), Nova (parts on Europa), Oberon (parts on Earth) and either Frost Prime or Mag Prime from the Orokin Void (or both if you sell Excalibur AFTER leveling him up to 30). All are craftable free of charge, and you have us to help you find parts and materials. The two Orokin Reactors mentioned above would go to Rhino and Nova. [edit: I'd probably pick a few different frames now...Rhino Prime and Nova are still money]
If you follow the advice above, you can play well into the late game without ever spending a penny, and you'll find that it's pretty easy to sell mods and keys for platinum to round out your collection. I bought a $15 pack mostly just to support the game, but I haven't come close to touching that platinum yet. If you play regularly, you'll also get potatos occasionally through daily login rewards or through alert missions.
If you see me online and in-game, I'm at a point where the most entertaining thing I could do is orient you, so hit me up or join whatever party chat I'm in.

Of the starting Warframes...Loki is it and even better than most of the others. In terms of the top Warframes... Nova, Rhino, Loki. Chess puts Zephyr in the mix as well but he maxed her out and done at least one Forma. Mine is at 48 but I can see her potential with two-three abilities. A close "Second Tier"...but depending on mission type and enemies would be...Vauban, Mag, Trinity and Frost.

After you left Chess I played a bit of Infamous (started the Evil Side) and Sith sent me a message later. He had to get up at 4am to go to work so we didn't get to play. I gave him heads up on the new deadline...9 Days. He said hopefully this afternoon.

I'll try to get on when I get home. The wife hurt her back over the weekend and I've helped her with several things...dinner, grocery store last night, etc...
Did Sith do the Mission yet...I still haven't?

That one was last night and was about an hour and a half. It was also a reactor.
The current one is a couple of days and is a catalyst.

played a bit last night...or at least tried to. It wasn't a good night at all. As your suggestion Chess I hung out on the "Recruiting" group and I say about 80% were ODD, T1 & 2 Cap, T Defend and Vault Farming. I found two and didn't even complete...got kicked out of one midway and the other "Disconnected From Server...". I ended up doing a few random just to level that new Gorgon up and got my Zephyr up to 28.
That's when I called it quits and went to Infamous on He Who Dwells....I did see Ate By Zombies on but he wasn't in any game. Thought about just sending him a Hi message. I guess Sith has been busy with work...didn't see him on either

Yeah, I caught Sith for about 5 minutes the other day, just long enough to say hi.
I'm pretty much laser focused on getting the last piece for the Brakk, which means lots and lots of Grineer invasion missions with a 3% chance they show up and some % chance that they drop the part I'm looking for.
Like I said the other night, you should be working on parts for Rhino Prime and Boltor Prime, both of which are awesome, rather than the fool's errand I'm on.

I've been trying to go from level 7 to 8 for the past few weeks. Any hints on how best to do it? I can't seem to hold x, hold my direction, wall run and aim and shoot all at the same time. Even with my slow Rhino.

She's a top frame anyway...probably my fourth favorite behind rhino, nova and Loki.
Alternatively, that wall you have to run down...you can just climb on top of and tightrope across.

Haven't really played this much in the last two weeks...Infamous has taken up my time and I've hooked with two on XBL 360 again after not playing with them in over 3-4 months. It's somewhat sad in a way as like one said they gave up playing for a month because all out friends are scattered...Xbox One, 360 and some like me on the PS4. I'm working on her to switch to the "Blue Side" since we're big on Diablo III and the newest one is only for the PS4 for now.
Anything new happening...I did get the Twin Pistols the other night. I saw you wer in a part of four but decided not to join. Figured you probably found a group to play with. Offd the rest of the week and might try to get on earlier and see if you and Sith are on. Wouldn't mind doing Something...what I have no clue...but something. See ya later I hope...

Still haven't touched this in over two weeks. I'm not saying the word "burnout" but I felt like I was doing stuff but not going anywhere...except in circles maybe. I went back to finish Killzone (a good game IMHO) to trade in and working on finishing Infamous in Evil mode. I don't see going back for awhile myself with Wolfenstein:The New Order out on the 20th which I have PO and Watch Dogs on the 27th...which I probably will get now that The Last of Us won't be out in June. Of course the ild card is Planetside 2 on when it will hit which I'm all in.

There's just about always something new to do. Last few updates have been quite good with a massive UI overhaul, a new frame, a new prime frame, a new sentinel, a new melee system with a bunch of new mods, a handful of new prime weapons, and a few new weapons. There's also a couple of new modes, enemies and bosses.

I just downloaded this off Steam last night. I played a bit, but I was pretty lost. However I had fun during my hour with it. I chose Excalibur. Am I the only person not playing it on PS4?

Pretty sure foxdvd played it on both PC and PS4.
It's definitely hard to figure out early on, but once you get the crafting and mods sorted out, it's a great game.
