I haven't had an issue with the light so far. I have a projector so no reflection issues. However, most games default to a cool blue which isn't too bright, but Outlast defaults to white which lights up the entire room. The opposite of what you want during a dark and creepy game.

So what is the point of Don't Starve? Just to stay alive as long as you can? I made it to day 3 when I just fell over dead from something. And it doesn't look like the game has a tutorial or any direction of any kind.

I'm not sure what control devs have over that light, but for something like Outlast it should be turned off entirely. Or maybe light up occasionally with a little scream from the controller. :lol:

For a moment today the Sony Store online have the PS4 with Knack and an extra controller for $399.

Needless to say, it sold out in the blink of an eye.

Yeah, it's really supposed to be a trial-and-error gameplay. You die, restart a little wiser, die again and repeat. That is how the game is supposed to be played. However, if you want a good starter's guide, IGN presents a very helpful one here.

Lesson One : Grab everything you can. It's all useful stuff.

I'll look at the guide. So far, I've never found enough food. I've made it six or seven days, but starvation always comes. Killing, cooking, and eating a gobbler barely makes a blip on the meter. This game requires a ton of food, yet only seems to give you a couple of pounds.

Thanks Decker. I'll check out that guide. The game seemed kinda cool, so I'll play a little more. It doesn't seem like there has been much chatter about it, so maybe people have already moved on to Outlast

Welcome to the joy of rogue-like games.

They are malicious and kind of hate you. But you will still come back to them. Oh how you will return...

They are probably my favorite genre of video games.

Heads-up : apparently Killzone Shadow Fall will be on sale next week for $39.99 at Best Buy ($31.99 with GCU). Makes for a pretty good deal on a pretty but flawed game.

Also both next-gen versions of Rayman Legends will be coming out at the MSRP of $39.99. The PS4 version has an in-game camera you can control to take pictures using the touchpad as well as remote play on the Vita. Nice to see not every studio is trying to overcharge for their next gen re-release.

Shadow Fall and Knack were both $39.99 at Best Buy a couple weeks ago. I may bite when they hit $29.99 ($24 after discount)

I am pretty stoked for Rayman Legends though. I'm still trying to finish up Rayman Origins before picking it up.

I think $39.99 is a bit high considering, unlike Tomb Raider, this one is more or less 100% identical to previous versions, but now with an in-game camera. It ran in 1080p60 on the X360, PS3, Wii U and PC.

Not going to ask the obvious question. ;)

Will absolutely buy Rayman Legends for PS4 and skipped the prior gen release in anticipation of it.

No, it doesn't run in 1080p on the Vita to answer your question.

It's pretty much the only game that looks basically identical on all 7 platforms.

In what could be a first for a game, the upcoming PS4 exclusive game "The Order: 1886" is trying to be as cinematic as possible - which means 30fps and 1080p image, but with an aspect ratio of 2.4:1 like most major movies (effectively 1920x800 resolution).

This has caused an outcry from hardcore 1.78:1 1080p 60fps only fanboys which the developers have had to responded to. One upside to the seeming downscaling is that the image quality itself is expected to be stellar with 4x multi-sampling anti-aliasing - a costly feature that stresses even powerful PC hardware systems.

Here we go again...more unhappy, ungrateful, uncaring, unappreciated "FPS" whiners.These people should be forced to go and play either a original Nintendo or an old 486DX computer for a year and then we'll see what they'll have to say about 1080P/FPS.

The apsect ratio intrigues me far more then the frame rate.
