re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

don't think the Destiny theme is dynamic at all and the tone sound it makes is enough to make me never want to use it

The CoD one is not any better in terms of the "loudness" either. I went back to the Flow theme since the music seems the less intrusive than the new ones even though I think that the Ship one is a cool design.

Turned off music and tones at launch, so that's of no consequence to me.

I like rectangles and spirals. Both are visually interesting, and I particularly like the contrast on spirals. And the Destiny one looks good too.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

It's funny and speaks somewhat for the PS4 having more content than the PS3 in the first year that it took them almost a year from launch to get themes and other minuscule stuff out for the PS4. During the dry period for the PS3 this is the kind of stuff they used to try to keep people excited about the console. It was either that or jamming on Lair.

LOL at the name change of Standby mode to Rest mode. Was it that confusing before?

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I do like how they break down applications to the exact amount of size of the file. They have also added a few other indicators like the battery charge in the corner when you hit the PS button. I hated having to go to the one menu to see how much charge was left in my controller. This update also fixed the glitch where my Skylanders game was installed but the start tile was nowhere to be found leaving me to start the game via the most recent (and only) game update. It also made the game file, that was once a hidden 19gb file, visible and now able to be deleted if I choose to. That was one of the weirdest game install problems I have seen and it was frustrating.

My ps4 has twice froze in rest mode. If you take the game out before rest mode it seems to work ok, so I will be doing that until the fix is out.

It has happened to some people but I don't think it is standard. I had it happen to me a month or so ago out of nowhere.

Mine did not. It has happened in the past though when I did not shut down properly.

re: The PlayStation 4 / PS4 Thread: Still Going Strong

I posted the full list in the PSN thread, but in case you check in here first, we are NOT getting a full game for the one-year anniversary of the console.

For the PS4, we are getting:
The Binding of Isaac : Rebirth (we knew about this already)
Steamword Dig
Escape Plan (via PS Vita, Cross-Buy title)

mine also froze...went into rest mode but the orange light was blinking and nothing would respond. I did have game in.
Had to pull the plug to get it back up and then of course it yelled at me for not doing things properly.

Until a fix is out, I will just turn it off and avoid standby/rest/relaxation/chillin' mode.

About 80% of the PS Plus free PS4 games after Resogun have sported SNES-level graphics. It's enough to make you hate indie games.

So I was hanging out in Best Buy the other day while my other shopped for shoes or some shit, and I was surprised to see a demo for Axiom Verge on PS4 there. I played a few minutes of it and holy shit was it good, but it was weird sitting 5 feet from an Xbone playing sizzle reels of Forza 5.

But HOLY SHIT was it good! Super Metroid should probably consider suing or something.

Hope that's free soon and you're salty for another month!

Exact same thing happened to me. And I did the exact same thing as you (pulled plug, it then yelled at me after boot up). This has happened to me in the past too, at least 3 times.

I think they wanted to just list games that won't have been released by that date -- like DRIVECLUB : PlayStation Plus Edition.

Decker, I'll be interested to know how the Order plays if you get a chance to try it. Early first impressions weren't that great.

I'll definately try it and let you know what I think.

PSN is down again. What are the odds? Maybe one in three.
