Re: Fallout 4
I've been thinking for a while now that this would probably release later this year. They've been working on it for far too long at this point for it to not be almost ready. They're gonna drop the bomb (heh?) at E3.
Either way: :banana::banana::banana: Also, New Vegas is equal to Fallout 3 in many ways, and surpasses it in both writing and quest design. I love both games and would be hard-pressed to choose which is my favorite between them. |

Sponsors and marketing deals lined up and ready to go? Yep, get ready for a fall release. |
Re: Fallout 4
I'd be damn impressed if we got an announce and release that quickly.
Nice breakdown of the trailer from Kotaku - http://kotaku.com/all-the-juicy-deta...ler-1708720494 |
Re: Fallout 4
Well, it is more on the lines that Bethesda kept this close to the chest rather than it being a quick release. We know they have been working on it for at least 3 years. So, a release in the next 6 months wouldn't be a huge surprise nor would a last second delay to stay in line with almost every other damn major release during this generation.

Re: Fallout 4
It'll come out the week after E3 ;)

Re: Fallout 4
I hope we can play as the dog.

Re: Fallout 4
This might be the game that finally spurs me to trade in for a current gen console.

Re: Fallout 4
Seems like this post on Reddit from a supposed former Bethesda employee was pretty accurate - https://www.reddit.com/r/Fallout/com...yed_fallout_4/
Which means a release date this year if true :p |

edit to add: but a friend of mine had the exact opposite experience, also on 360. I don't think he was ever able to finish the game. |
Re: Fallout 4
Fallout 3 got buggy as hell the longer I played it. I almost didn't get through the final piece of DLC since it would hang up at one spot every time. New Vegas wasn't much of a problem.
Very excited about a new Fallout game. They've been some of my favorites ever. |

Oh look, more drab, desolate environments... I don't mind post-apocalyptic wastelands as setting for stories or movies, but for videogames, I prefer a little more variety and visual flare in what I'm playing/looking at. Rather than seeing the same drab, brown, dusty wasteland for hours on end, I want to a more varied set of environments - Dragon Age 3 and Witcher 3 have totally spoiled me in this regard, even Skyrim had more visual panache than any Fallout game. The desolate environments are great for the first few hours (which is why it's fine for a movie), but after that, I can't stand to look at it and stay in that environment. |

Re: Fallout 4
The weird problem with Fallout 3 that I had on the PS3 was that as I started to accumulate more and more game saves it started to bog down how the game ran.

Spoiler:
Compared to, say, Fallout 3... Spoiler:
Based on those shots, I'd say Bethesda is trying to add some colour to the series. Good for them. |
Re: Fallout 4
I'll concede that those screen shots are certainly an improvement in variety. Hopefully those are indicative of the entire game.

Re: Fallout 4
It's funny, because after watching the trailer my reaction was the environments looked much more colorful rather then the grey and browns from the previous games.

Well, it is a wasteland and not a fantasy land. Besides, we get all of the important landmarks in Boston as well as some twists on other historical elements. So no, it won't be the same as the others.

Re: Fallout 4
I just wish they'd do away with the combat system they had in the past two games. Talk about tedious.
