On the start menu...when you hit "continue" you will see the amount of time you put in next to the save file

Re: Fallout 4

Codsworth says a ton of names (thousand or so) and some are just plain funny - the video shows a couple funny ones but I have also included a link to the full list of names:

Having trouble embedding video - also...I can't stand the John Cena shit at the end...just and FYI:

I think the opposite. There are very limited consequences, which they mostly warn you about. I'd prefer it if there were more.

Re: Fallout 4

The distances on some of these settlement quests is getting comical.

Finch Farm wants me to clear out some ghouls that are attacking them from the comic store in the Silver Shroud quest.

Re: Fallout 4

Finally beat this game today, after a bit over 60 hours and level 60. All I have to say is one big giant "meh". It started out great, but then all the flaws started rapidly revealing themselves. This was a good FPS, but it isn't a Fallout game.

The story was just a giant disappointment. It was so weak, it felt like no real time was spent developing it. In the end it just hammered home how little (no) choice there was in the game.

The settlements were so half-assed too. I thought there would be some point to them revealed later on in the game, but no, it's just a pointless time sink.

Re: Fallout 4

If it was just "meh", why did you invest 60 hrs into it? Maybe if you just did the main story without the sidequests it would feel better as you could probably do that in 10-12 hrs.

People have a tendency to go on autopilot in games where not much happens, hence the popularity of the Bethesda games and MMOs, but when you get to the end you're going to decide if you liked it or not, even if the last few hours were a chore.

I got about 12 hours into this and haven't felt motivated to go back, it's just repetitive, and I'm tired of Raiders! Ghouls! Raiders! Send help! Raiders! but I'm sure I'll go back and put more time into it when I get bored.

It's the reason why I *only* spent (invest? lol) 60 hours in the game.

Like I said, it's a good shooter, but it's a garbage Fallout game. I stopped playing it weeks ago, but finally said "enough's enough" and got it over with.

Re: Fallout 4

I honestly don't blame people if they're let down by it - I can see where they're coming from. I was blown away by the customization and all the crazy options you have.

I still like it but I will say this....the shit story and it's lame multiple endings did get to me - I won't lie about that.

Re: Fallout 4

I think it tried to do too many things, and ended up not doing most of them very well. It just wasn't very focused, so it felt hollow.

I think a game that lets put 60 hrs in it is anything but hollow.

Re: Fallout 4

It's not about how much time you can spend on it. It's unfocused. I've put way less time into far more substantive games, and I've put over 100 hours into others and a lot of them in both camps didn't feel hollow like F4 does.

Totally agree with your assessment. While it has moments of genius, and I'm enjoying playing the game, the overall storyline is weak and many of the quests are repetitive and uninspired.

Re: Fallout 4

I picked this up last week and played handful of hours on it so far. First impressions are that is almost exactly the same as Fallout 3. Thats mot necessarily a dig at the game, but this gameworld does not pull me in and captivate me as much as something like Skyrim or Oblivion. The game itself seems nice enough, the graphics are quite poor for a next gen. I am already at level 10 and i dont seem to have actually done all that much. Cleared out a couple of areas for people, bought a home in Diamond City and got into a short storyline there with a bartender and a jealous husband which ended up with me killing the husband. I am sure i will put a lot of time into this game, but its so far proving to be almost exactly what i expected it to be, and a bit too run of the mill. Hopefully the storylines and quests will make up for it

I agree. I am totally done clearing out ghouls, which apparently will never end. Sorry Finch Farm--you're on your own.

Still love the game but am ready to start moving things along at Lvl 46. I did have a nice moment involving the jazz club singer in Good Neighbor...

How did you get to level 60 in only 60 hours?? I'm over 100 hours in and just at level 42

Re: Fallout 4

I platinum this yesterday. I did 3 of the endings, I enjoyed the railroad final missions the best, followed by the institute. The brotherhood was the 3rd ending I did.

Started out with high luck and that perk that gives you bonus XP, then added high int. The combo between the two lets you level the fastest possible.

Re: Fallout 4

So i have pumped in about 20 hours now and the game has grown on me. I am around level 25, but will have to use that Luck/Intelligence perk system to improve quicker. The world has become much more appealing than i initially thought. I prefer the sandbox compared to Fallout 3 and the characters and systems in play seem a lot more enticing. I can always tell when a game has greatness if i am away from it and thinking about it.....thats whats happening. Once you start getting better equipment and leveling this game really picks up. I managed to buy General Chaos Revenge sword and that alone has helped me on a number of occasions. Thing cuts a lot of things down pretty quick. Also, made sure to find a decent suit and keep pieces working. At first i was playing the game out of the suit and getting my ass handed to me. Got that Irish chick as my partner and got her a decent suit as well.

The red sequin dress also suits her well.

Re: Fallout 4

How do you clothe your companions? I found all kinds of dog armor for Dogmeat and all I can do is transfer it to him to carry.

Also, is there a way to tell how much of a load your companion can handle? I just keep giving them stuff until it says they can't carry anymore.

Re: Fallout 4

I believe it's only certain types you can equip them with. I took out raiders in some area and there was some heavy dog armor and a spike muzzle.

All I have to say is that after I equipped dogmeat with thos two items, he burtally f'n murders people I remember turning my character around in game and saying "oh shit" as dogmeat did a lunging throat take down - and just wouldn't stop mauling the raider.

In the same combat, he just ran and jumped at a raider without doing anything but the raider stepped back and screamed "My eyes!!!" because the spiked muzzle took them out. nice.

Press Y to equip (xbox). Or something - look at the bottom of your screen for the commands.

Can any PC players recommend some good mods?
