The pew pew lasers mod is hilarious. As is Macho Claws.

Re: Fallout 4
I put on the Mysterious Stranger perk last night and he popped up at the right time when I had V.A.T.S on a Raider wearing a Power Suit......it was like two shots and the Raider went down. And yes I found out on repairing parts of the Power Suit.
Should I start putting some points into perks that do damage....like some of the various gun types or melee. Since I got the Serrated Samurai (like 55 damage) I thought the Big Leagues perk would be useful. I thought Rifleman giving 20% more damage to non-auto guns but most of the Rifles I have all do around 40 and under damage. Or go with a perk that helps in aid or resistance...Lead Belly, Rad Resistant, Toughness or even Ghoulish. I just hit Level 14 and a ton of missions have popped up since going to Diamond City...then on the other hand I've come across a few "Advance" Safes and Terminals which I cannot unlock yet. One is in USAF Sat Olivia. We started another character (9yr old loves this) and he found the key to the room while I did not. So I'm seeing a few Advanced ones pop up and worried I'll lose track of them having to go back and hunt them down. I'd wish they would have something where you found a Terminal or Safe in a place it would be marked. |
Re: Fallout 4
Finally got around to starting Far Harbor now I'm stuck thanks to a game bug.

Re: Fallout 4
That's weird. I never had issues with that part. Other than it was super frustrating and unnecessary.

Re: Fallout 4
I ended up going with the perk Aqua Boy and Armorer. I fast traveled to the Bridge that enters into the large city with Diamond City and hangman's Alley is right there. There is a small Raider groups in the middle with a boat. They were there gain and took care of them...with a little help from the Mysterious Stranger. However he took out the guy in the power suit and he fell overboard. I tried to go down and get it but the Rads and no air kept me from finding it. Then some Super Mutants attacked and I fell off the bridge in he water. I said heck with it and got the Aqua Boy perk

Re: Fallout 4
Finally found away around the no guns in the 1st memory. Had to use extra blocks to block the sentry bots
Spoiler, for story spoilers obviously. Spoiler:

Re: Fallout 4
Just curious...how many points is there to level up the Perks?....is it 60...80...100?
Also I wanted to confirm you cannot reset you skill points....the ones you pick at the beginning right? I had to ask because my friend who we got the game at the same time...well, she was a bit upset last night when I told her where I've been putting my points. She was like, "how are you able to put points that far down and what level are you?". I said Level 17 and my Luck is at Five Stars so I can go to tier 5 on the chart ( I was talking about the Mysterious Stranger). All this time she thought you had to get all the stars filled before moving down......she literally thought she might start over or give up. I told her it was the same with me...I didn't realize it until I hit Level 12...which wasn't bad because I put point in Strength, Charisma, Agility, Endurance and Intelligence. But we both agreed it wasn't real clear at first on how to do it. We've avoided any walk-thrus, location guides and how-to's far the most part. But boy, I could sense the sir being let out of her thru the mic last night...... Got another point to spend and I'm looking at Locksmith. I'm coming across safes and doors I cannot get into and both of us have left a lot behind....shame no way of tagging or marking these But I also might need the perk to link settlements. I've got three, two are growing and Peterson told me two more are needing help. And speaking of Peterson I got the "Lovable Trophy"...maxing out the relationship with him. I have the option of getting Piper; so should I get her and how is she helping out versus Peterson. |

Re: Fallout 4
i was the opposite, I didn't realize you could put points to the actual stats up top for several levels.

Re: Fallout 4
Did the mission with The Silver Shadow....I had to get a picture of me and Nick with those throw back outfits....
I put another point into Luck so the Better Critical Perk is now open. I figure with 50% more crit damage that's got to be a good one to get. After it I'm looking ahead to either Rifleman (20% extra damge to non-automatic rifles) or Life Giver (instantly gain +20 maximum health) |
Re: Fallout 4
I ended up getting the Rifleman Perk because I feel I'm not doing enough damage and with some now taking forever to get them down, even with the Critical Perk. If it weren't for the Mysterious Stanger coming in and taking some out I'd be taking forever even more.
Almost everything I have cannot be upgraded much more unless I upgrade the Weapon Crafting perk. The Pipe Guns are plenty but have weak damage. I have some "Special" 10mm Guns with buffs on Critical and dealing RAD damage but I might as well be shooting a 22. I use the Combat Rifle a lot but it takes a while. It's been the Sniper, Cell Rifle, a Rapid Fire 45 Pistol and The Combat Shotgun which has proved the most worthy. |
Re: Fallout 4
I played through almost the entire game just using a sniper rifle and a shotgun. You should definitely level up the weapon and armor crafting perks.

I have yet to start the missions with Nick Valentine. I'm waiting until I'm sufficiently leveled up before starting the main story line. |
Re: Fallout 4
That's the one thing I hate is you cannot take any of the special reward gear of your stash/backpack. I haven't done any of the Shadow missions yet....if anything it does look cool.
We were talking last night how this game continues to surprise us. But so.e of the mini missions are even long. I just did the one for Bobbie No Nose where we had to go underground and break into some complex....that went all over the place with several places you can go. Some of the underground tunnels are as extensive as the sewers in The Division or more. Found some of those Glowing Ghouls including a legendary....man I hate them. I gave up smacking them and use a shotgun to a leg. They're funny and harmless crawling on the ground. This is where I wish the game had the famous Gears of War Boot Smash execution....like stomping on a melon. |

Re: Fallout 4
Silver Shroud.
Also, three new pieces of DLC coming, including Nuka World. |
Re: Fallout 4
I haven't played Fallout 4 in a couple months (finished it at level 61) but decided to finally play Far Harbor and I spent my first hour trying to locate Nick Valentine. They really need to put in a better system to find your companions that are around in the world. I went through all the settlements and I was only able to locate 4 of them even though I recruited every available companion in the game.
|
Re: Fallout 4
There's a mod on Xbox One that fixes that issue. It'll show on your map where each of your companions are. I don't know how the name of the mod but it should be under quality of life mod category.

That is a pretty odd omission, especially since the map tracks where you left your power armor. Even if they didn't want the map to be cluttered, they could have just opened up that menu where you get to send a follower to a particular settlement, and made it so you could use that whenever you wanted. |

Re: Fallout 4
I've been playing Black Ops III and noticed that there's a new update for Fallout 4. Is it a new DLC map? Far Harbor was great.
|
Re: Fallout 4
The only thing I saw is that now on the addon menu it has the announced at E3 DLC listed out as coming soon.
|
Re: Fallout 4
Since having the game for about a month I've been lucky to come across just one Deathclaw...which was the mission in Concord where I got my first Armor Suit...and had to use it against him. Well yesterday I came across five killing four...well the Mysterious Stranger did take out one and that was a hoot.

Re: Fallout 4
Finished up Far Harbor. Great addon and I'm glad I brought Nick Valentine with me. I didn't care for the final
Spoiler:
Spoiler:
I happened to be looking through the trophies for all the DLC since I'm only interested in the story stuff and I didn't realize Automatron was story related. I thought the other two DLC's besides Far Harbor were just creating/settlement content so I was pleasantly surprised. It was quite a bit shorter then Far Harbor but still very enjoyable other then the bugged (for me) final battle which I had to restart four times. I highly recommend wearing your Silver Shroud gear while doing this DLC. |
Re: Fallout 4
Is the Silver Shroud that good of gear or mainly for that DLC. I'm wearing a collection of odds & ends that give me some buffs here & there.....like Pocketed, -15% damage against Humans or ghouls etc....and you cannot wear anything else with it correct?
...and congrads on finishing up Harbor |

Re: Fallout 4
I solely wear the Silver Shroud outfit. That's all I've worn since I got it.

Re: Fallout 4
Interesting...I like building and all but still clueless as to the electrical poles, transformers and all the other gadgets. I had to turn off two of the Settlement Broadcast Beacons because of too many people. Still this looks like something to pass the time with...
Get Ready To Build With Fallout 4’s Contraptions Workshop At its pre-E3 press conference, Bethesda announced the Contraptions DLC for Fallout 4, which will hopefully add to the richness of your settlements. The DLC comes out at midnight (Eastern time) here in North America, and includes amenities of such as elevators, sorting machines, conveyor belts, logic gates, and more. It's $4.99 and included in the game's season pass, and is on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Contraptions isn't all that's coming, at the press conference, the company also laid out what else is on tap via the game's DLC. http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/a...-workshop.aspx |
Re: Fallout 4
I found two more power suits the other day but I have a question...are there power suit parts you can find? Seems most the suits are missing at least two limbs...usually one arm and a leg.
Also on your companions, do you always get some some "reward" like with Preston? I now have a chance to bring Hancock or Cait along but I still have Nick...he did open up about his past memories and I have some special mission for him. I just didn't know is there a plus on keeping one around longer to gain more trust for some bonus or safe to try others? I've only had Preston, Piper and Nick |

I've only had Preston, Piper and Nick Each companion once you've had them with you enough and they trust you unlocks a "perk" so I recommend switching to another one whenever you unlock the reward with one. Some of them are pretty fast to unlock some have you go on missions for them before you unlock the reward. |
Re: Fallout 4
Thanks...and I did get some mission with Nick...it just sounds like it's all over and requires going to a lot of places....so I'll stick with him for the time being.

I'm probably not the best choice for an answer for power suits since I never use them. Whenever I find them I bring them back and leave them in Sanctuary. I current have 12 or so sitting there. I've never found power suit parts on their own but you can transfer parts between them and modify them in the yellow power suit stations.

Re: Fallout 4
I've got another point to spend and torn between Science or Demolition Expert. I've been coming across more of the Radiation Energy weapons like the Gamma Gun, better Cell base weapons and some others but cannot really do anything with them. Then again the Demolition Expert gives a nice boost of 25% to explosives which I assume covers the grenades, "all" mines and even the Rocket & Fat Man launchers?
Me and my friend who we got the game at the same time and love to play co-op base games together have just marveled about just how much there is cans can do in this game. I've never played a game with so many endless possibilities in such a huge open sand box which basically just says, "here you go, do whatever you want, go wherever you want and have fun". By the way I have another character at my disposal...Curie the robot from vault 81. I'd love to bring her along since she is more a Medical and heal you but has a nice laser or at least said she had one. Can you take other companions even though you might be in the middle of helping another which in this case is Nick finding his Holotapes? I've still got Cait and Hancock which has offered to tag long to try. |
Re: Fallout 4
Yeah you can always continue with them later just make sure you remember where you've sent them. Curie is my favorite companion and has one of the best storylines in the game.

Re: Fallout 4
I did that one mission awhile back early on where I had to help the Brotherhood of Steel defend their location and then go with the leader Paladin Danse and at the end asked me to join The Brotherhood. At the time I had Preston and we were still spreading the word of the Return of the Minutemen so I said "maybe later, let me think about it".....so it's still open on my Data screen in the Pipboy not completed.
Well the last few days I've seen The Brotherhood copters and on the ground troops slightly before or after I complete something lighting stuff up. I was doing a mission for Nick getting some Holotapes and Raiders started to attack and then The Brotherhood drops down, wipes them out, Ghouls appear they get wiped out and of all things a Deathclaw appears and they wipe him out. And then last night I just established a new base when I hear shooting and Children of Atom and The Brotherhood are going at it......should I go ahead and commit to them or is it just coincidence they're showing up at times. |

Thanks...every time I try to talk to them it's "this is official police business" or "out of the way wastelander". I wonder if and when I join the conversation is a bit more nice?
