Re: GTA Online Thread Of Law Abiding Citizens

I think the biggest mistake they made was making these intro missions mandatory to actually play online. I mean do you really need to be taught how to go to an icon?

Following that, I really hated when it couldn't connect online that it would dump you back into single player. Annoying. Same as when you replay a mission and it bumps you back into single player. I get that the idea is to make it seamless, but the end result is anything but.

The sad part is that once you get in, it's pretty fun.

Yeah but people really should be careful before installing these updates as they are rally affecting the single player mode as well (and in some cases eveb worse than the online mode).

I just lost the ability to change between characters and lost all my weapons today.

Well I finally got enough cash saved up to move into a halfway decent apartment. Pretty nice to have a place to call home in the game now. Also got a 6-car garage included with it.

I just installed the new patch and it didn't mess up my save or my online character. Not that I've had those issues.

I'm desperate to the point now that I'll install any update they put out. I haven't been able to do any missions since late Tuesday night. I've even tried the just leave the game on and walk away for a while trick that has worked for some people. No luck.
I don't have high hopes for the new patch coming out either. A couple people with the same problem as me, only they're on PS3, said the new patch didn't fix their single player. I want to finish the story but if the only option is starting over, it's getting traded. Way to many hours spent to begin again.

Re: GTA Online Thread Of Law Abiding Citizens

I like how the defenders of Rockstar point out the online problems being directly related to the 16 million or so game owners like all 16 million are trying to play online at the same time. The bottom line is that Rockstar was ill-prepared for this launch and should have spent some of their slut money on servers.

I wish I would have been one of those guys that played 8 hours a day and got the single player wrapped up before the patch. This game is a complete mess. The GTA Forums is just swamped with people not being able to play single player or online. This should have never been released yet.

I hardly ever buy games release day but I had faith in Rockstar. Now I wish I would have stuck to my guns and just bought the game in a couple months so all this crap would have been worked out.

Re: GTA Online Thread Of Law Abiding Citizens

Just saw a response from Rockstar on the single player issue. Not a response to my exact issue but someone else.

I understand your frustration, but these are the only solutions we can offer at the moment. And generally, once a save file has been corrupted, there's very little that can be done to recover it. I did have a customer report that, after playing for 2 hours in the open world, he could access missions and change characters again. There have been other reports of this working, so it could be worth a try, if all else has failed.

Best,

Raymond B.

Sounds like no patch will help. Diablo III has been staring at me for a few weeks now. On to that I guess. I have a feeling this will be even more widespread as more people get further in the game. It seems it all takes place in the game around the same place...after the first patch. People that finished it up before Oct. 1 seem to be fine.

I'll take my chance and just rent it to finish it up in a few months if they ever come up with a solution where I don't have to start a new game.

Yeah, I was really lucky to get through the tutorial on launch and have been playing online. Once you get past the tutorial and in game with some friends it really is a blast to play.

I stole a helicopter and a buddy and I flew from store to store where he got out and robbed each one.

How much was the apartment? I am coming up on the level that lets me buy property.

The cheapest apartment is $80,000, which comes with a 2 car garage.

My apartment cost $140,000, and has a 6-car garage. Those start at around $125,000.

I might even advise that you buy a garage as soon as you can afford it. You save so much money when you get free repairs (or at least I do). That, and it's an asset you can sell later, and not worry about losing all your cash from dying. The cheapest garage is like $26,000, but it's in the boonies. Around 30, 35 you can get a cheap 2-car in the city.

It's midnight PST and still no patch for 360.

Where the fuck are our free games at?

Sort of. You get a mechanic with the garage, and he gets $50 a day. But that's still far better than getting your car repaired at the respray shop. Plus, he'll deliver a car to you if you need one.

And I think I saw a second $50 fee, but wasn't sure if it was just the mechanic fee or something different. Either way it's chump change.

I just finished a session. Was fun till some ass Troll kicked me for no reason! All i was doing was getting my first car at the custom shop. I get a warning message telling me if i continue to be bad I'll be grouped with the other "bad sports" WTF This just sucked the fun out of the game.

When i got back in I started a store robbery and sure enough someone shows up and kills my ass taking my stash

Got a few missions done and checked things out a bit. It's time to start learning where all the ATMs are at.

I'm not raving about the game just yet but once I'm leveled up and have access to more things I can see things getting better. It was pretty damn cool to exit a mission and find someone stealing my ride. He either was a shit driver or wanted to show off a it so he proceeded do doughnuts in front of me. I wonder how much the shop will charge me to remove the chunks of his brain and skull from my interior. :)

I have to get a few levels higher, get some decent weapons and I'll be ready for some crew jobs.

You can open the internet on your phone and deposit money directly from there. No need to visit an ATM unless you want to.

Also, you still lose money when you die even if it's all in the bank.

Had fun last night running around with sauce. did a couple of missions but mostly stuck to racing and goofing off. Did a couple of jumps near the airport demolished our cars and then went and used random vehicles in jumps while taking pictures. learned that box trucks are horrible at jumps and semis are only slightly better at reverse jumps.

Updated my 360 version. Glad I haven't seen any issues with my single player yet.

We need to play online sometime. I'm in our DVDTalk Crew and my buddy has a crew that I am part of. It is cool to be able to be part of more than one crew and switch to the one that you have friends online at the time.

Went online and did a few of the first basic things, did the first race, got the drugs, got clothes, got a car. No issues this morning on 360.

Added you! I wish the damn servers for the PS3 version were working. It would be nice to be able to play this on Saturday during a period where all of the college football games that they are showing on tv are the least bit interesting.

MasterofDVD 10-05-13 09:14 PM

Going to be on for a bit. If you wanna join or invite me I'm down.
