Remember Me

[for size]
Spoiler:

I was looking forward to this game a while back, just because it looked cool (and I dig playing as a chick who kicks ass), but totally forgot about it and didn't realize it was out.

Anyways, it looks like the reviews for it are all over the map - haven't seen mixed reviews like this in a while.

Anyone get this? What do you think?

Re: Remember Me

I'm interested too.

I'm planning on getting it when it's below $30.

Re: Remember Me

Just picked up on the irony of forgetting about a game who's title is "Remember Me". Heh.

Re: Remember Me

I was planning on getting it this week until I saw all the glowing reviews for The Last of Us, which has not taken priority once I finish off Tomb Raider.

Re: Remember Me

I picked it up. I wanted to support a game with a new IP, Female protagonist and no forced multiplayer.

So far I am enjoying it. The combat system is similar to Arkham, and you can create your own combos in the menu lab. Certain combos will give you benefits like extra health when you complete them, so it encourages memorizing and not button mashing.

Altering someones memories is an interesting aspect of the game also.

Here is some behind the scenes info about the game:

Re: Remember Me

Interesting premise, but the reviews say to me wait for $30 or less. Would like to see a demo as well.

I know I might be getting Groucho'ed, but I don't understand what you mean, or what you're referencing.

Re: Remember Me

Well, if I had put this in Otter, yeah. But being that it's in the videogame forum, I figured it's obvious that the title is about a, um... a videogame.

Yeah, since it's in the Video Game Forum, it seems really unlikely that Groucho might use it as an opportunity to make a joke.

Re: Remember Me

Finally got this game. Used from Gamefly, so it only cost me $13.

I just reached chapter 4, of 8, and I'm really enjoying it. It's all I thought it was going to be.

It's a new IP and kid of reminds me of how I felt when I played the first Assassin's Creed. Meaning that I know that this was big, it was really exciting, but they need to refine the game play, still it was an amazing game. I feel the same here so far. The graphics are just perfect, I also love the artistic design, I can see that they did their homework there.

The story is really interesting to me, I can't wait to see what happens next. Really tempted to go and check some spoilers, I'm that interested.

I suck at the combat though, too hard for me. I keep dying at the big boss battles, the one at the end of chapter 3, I almost stopped playing.

Anyway, I really hope this game can get a bigger audience, and maybe even a sequel.

Re: Remember Me

Bought this game today at Target with B2G1 free they had. Also bought Dead Rising 3 and MG Rising. I hope it's good cuz it looked unique. And it's always great to have a cool female lead in a video game.

Re: Remember Me

I was interested in this game back when it was announced, but after reading IGN's review I took it off my wishlist.

Last year my brother ordered it clearance for $3.49 from Best Buy. I've had it in my collection to play it one day ....

Anyway after playing the awesome LIFE IS STRANGE, I was looking thru my collection to see what to play next and stumbled upon R.M. and I turned it over and saw Dontnod Entertainment. I was like oh shit it's the same company! I have to play it now.

Finished it last night and I liked it a lot. It's linear and small but that's ok. The remix of memories is a cool concept and was executed well in the game, but the constant rewinding was a bit of a hassle. I also liked the small combo system but forgot them mid fighting most of the time, until I finally mastered the 8-hit combo! and fools couldn't fuck with me.

Sucks that Capcom didn't greenlight the sequel, since the story was written and Dontnod Entertainment was willing to do it.

I'm now interested in what they do next, bring on VAMPYR! looks insane!

Re: Remember Me

Oh yeah, as I mentioned in my previous post, from 2013, this game is for an specific kind of audience. It doesn't have the best gaming mechanics, too old school or complicated, but it has a great story, if you are into that. I finish the game and thought it was really good.

Re: Remember Me

I also bought it after playing Life is Strange. Haven't made the effort to play Remember Me yet... still kind of hoping it ends up on the backwards compatibility list for XO.
