Yeah, 40GB doesn't sound too crazy to me given the size of other games out there also. On PC, the Beta was about 12 GB with just those couple of maps and apparently is going to need 48 GB of free space

The final resolution on XB1 has not been confirmed yet. They mentioned 792p as where they were a few weeks ago, but also that they were working on pushing it up more.

A search doesn't show it being mentioned, so thought I'd post that Best Buy added this to their $10 reward zone cert promo. Even sweeter if you have GCU and can get it for $48.

That said, I was kicking around picking up the 360 version, but just realized I'd have to renew my Live Gold, which is expiring after 7.5 years. Between my PS4 with PSPlus and WiiU, I can't justify renewing it at this point, so I guess I'll sit this one out.

So with the Xbox One Titanfall bundle coming out I was thinking of grabbing it. Basically you get the game for free, but it says that it comes with a download code for the game. So is that going to be some crazy 40G download?

Irrelevant. If you bought the physical disc, you'd still have to use the exact same amount of HDD space.
The only difference is that with the disc, you wouldn't have to download all that data. I suppose that might be preferable if you have a data limit on your Internet connection.

That's the issue, yeah. I have 90G monthly and I find the downloads from Xbox Live painfully slow.

It's only 20GB, if that helps any.

Titanfall Goes Gold
It begins.

Rejoice! Titanfall has officially gone gold, according to Respawn's official Twitter account:

This game looks good, but I don't see what everyone else sees. What makes this standout from other FPS MP games? Mech use?

However, I would also like to point out that in the original Halo: Combat Evolved thread from like 13 years ago, I state that I don't think it is a system seller.

A few months ago someone bumped that thread and I saw what I wrote and almost fell out of my chair laughing.

I think the Mech action, the movement and the balance of Titans vs. Pilots goes a long way to make it just feel good to play and traverse the game.

I'd say add that in a time when BF4 is janky and CoD is fine but stale, that Respawn/EA picked a perfect breeding ground/time to launch a well made FPS.

That is what Titanfall is to me. A well made FPS w/ some interesting mechanics, that plays damn good in a time when most other MP FPS games are just meh.

This. Also, it helps that they've made it fun again for those of us who aren't hardcore FPS players. I just want to pick up the controller and shoot some titans and stomp on pilots, and this game lets everyone do that, while still making it competitive for the hardcore guys if that's what they want.

For me, i've been waiting for a faster paced FPS for awhile now, akin to the old Quake and Unreal games. The standard military shooter mechanics were really boring me, as much as i've enjoyed Battlefield 4. The mechs are just icing on the cake.

re: Respawn's TITANFALL has landed (PC/Xbox One/360)!

I played a lot of Gears in the last generation. I also had seasons of Halo. The last 6 months have been all about COD:Ghosts.

I tried the beta of this game and yeah, I wasn't that into it. I, of course, think it will sell like pancakes, will be a system seller, and the reviews will be great. Most of the people love this game. So I'm in the minority this time.

No next gen game has an online pass (which is an enclosed code required for online play)

Yeah it's essentially those inserts with a code that they started using to try and curtail the resale market.

Season Pass

Get the Titanfall Season Pass and extend the fight on the Frontier with three new content packs. The Season Pass expands Titanfall by delivering all three planned content packs as soon as they become available at a one-time price of $24.99, a savings of $5. REQUIRES TITANFALL FOR XBOX ONE, XBOX 360 AND XBOX LIVE GOLD, BOTH SOLD SEPARATELY.
So, $24.99 for three map packs.

Seems fair comparing it to other season passes. I'm in.
