I just started up the Lost Chapters expansion and the graphics still hold up well on a SD TV. One thing they really need to fix for the remake is the quest reloading. It's retarded how if you fail a mission they send you back to the guild school and re-enter the teleporting portal over and over again

Amazon had a placeholder date of December 31st, so no it really did not have an official release date. But waiting until February '14 when I've already pre-ordered it for a couple of months is a little sucky

I certainly get that delays happen in game development, but to delay an HD port of a ten year old game? To bring it out on an outdated console a full quarter into the next generation? That's pretty amateur-hour.

On time is all relative based on the dates set, so the comparison is a bit silly and irrelevant. I do think its dumb to put out a release like this at the start of a new console launch, whether it be now or 3 months from now. I think Kingdom Hearts is in the same boat.

Nope. Should it take longer to upgrade one game to HD than it takes three?

And, for the record there were two Halo games last gen, not that MS had any interest in bundling the upgrades together.

Unless you know when development started on the remakes, who's working on them, the size of the team, the effort going into the remake, etc I don't know whether you can estimate if it's taking longer or not.

Certainly that's true. But if you're not going to even be able to make the final year of a console's lifespan, why even bother? Yes, there may be a bigger install base, but as a company with a first-party game, wouldn't it make more sense to put out the upgrade on at least your current gen console so that you can feature something new to play? Nintendo certainly thinks so.

The amount of work Lionhead is putting into Fable Legends probably means there's only a small team working on this HD version.

I think the reason Nintendo is releasing Windwaker HD on the WiiU is because the WiiU is their first HD console. Also, the Wii can play the original Gamecube Windwaker.
