Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

There is not a lot going on right now, for sure, though I did buy myself a few extra days by getting George Washington. EA is tossing me about a donut a day for visiting neighbors, so there's that.

I was getting bored with this so I decided to nuke it from orbit. After all, that is the only way to be safe.

3.5 hours later, and I haven't even put in trees yet.

112 (free) donuts. I guess I should start visiting neighbors again.

Not sure what I want to buy though. Proffesor Frink maybe.

How are you getting all those free donuts? I don't think I've ever gotten donuts from visiting neighbors.

You need to be at the maximum Friend Point level. They'll randomly come from tapping the buildings. I'm usually moving through too quickly to notice them. If I take note of the number of donuts before I start, I'll usually have 1 or 2 more after I finish.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Phew.. I thought I lost my town for a minute.

Started up the game and it started to download an update. Then the screen flashed and was sitting at the "Enter your age" prompt. I entered that and it loaded the game and played the very first animated bit and then took me to an empty town.

Force quit the game and I was able to sign in and it finished downloading the updates and then went into my town.

Scared me for a moment.

Saving them.

Seriously, that's probably over 6 months. We have had events that give you free donuts, 10 or so. I've received free donuts visiting friends, but I'm not that lucky that I receive one every day, of course. Leveling up you receive two. But being maxed out, that's not too often for me. And finally, after you are maxed out, you can buy some items that give you a lot of XP, that let you level up faster, and then you receive up to 3 donuts. I always go for 3. You need a lot of cash for that. I had around 20 million, when I did that.

And oh yeah, receiving 30 donuts from the mystery box always helps. But most of the time I get parking slots.

Ok I am at max friend level and don't think I've noticed getting any when tapping in friend's towns.

At first I thought you got them all from tapping in other people's towns which is what confused me.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

In addition to bringing back several old buildings for the yard sale, EA made them smaller. The Ultrahouse 2 and Cool Brown House are both a bit smaller. The Helter Shelter looks positively tiny now. They chopped 2 squares off the width and it's quite a bit shorter. Maybe it's a shelter for homeless Funzos now.

The payout for the CBH has been changed from $90/6hr to $6/5min. Payouts for other stuff has been improved to premium levels.

I believe that makes CBH equal to a regular Brown House now, which if true makes this essentially a Brown House skin.

On the upside, though, now that this and several other previous items are now "premium", those who already had them will probably see an increase in their XP/cash bonus % rate.

Interesringm so is the CBH truly a skin for ANY brown houses or do donuts only nab you one CBH total? Could actually be interested if it were a skin.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

It is a unique building. The Cool Homer skin comes with it and should pay a premium rate. Also comes with a quest.

Hmm, will think about it.

Wish Gil would've had a donut sale right before the yard sale or July 4 event.

Was thinking of getting a building with a character but was wondering if the stage has got a lot of funny tasks with it or not. Thoughts?

Hmm.. I have all the other Mayan stuff... not sure I want just a skin for Marge... Now, if it was the Witch Marge skin, I'd probably pick that up as I don't have that.

I have the Cool Brown house already, Father Sean, Ultrahouse 2, the Grandpa skin...

Not sure if I want the Ninja Homer since its just a skin...... The Cherry Tree is up to give Washington, but I don't have Lincoln.. I assume there is probably a quest for both of them?

I have 262 donuts.. not sure what I want to spend them on .

You may have to wait until Christmas. Two of the last three donut sales were during the Christmas events:

Dec 23-27 2012: "25% More Donuts" ... same prices, but 25% more donuts
May 24-28 2013: "Day Old Donuts"... same donuts, but prices 25% off
Dec 24-31 2013: "Christmas Donut Deal" ... up to 30% more donuts, see below

The Christmas 2013 event offered a varying # of free donuts, depending on which donut purchase you made:
$1.99 12 +1 (8% extra)
$4.99 60 +6 (10%)
$9.99 132 +18 (14%)
$19.99 300 +45 (15%)
$49.99 900 +200 (22%)
$99.99 2400 +720 (30%)

Since we didn't get a mid-year donut sale, either one is on the horizon or we're only getting the one Christmas deal this year.

I don't have the stage but it certainly seems to involve a lot of different characters, which is nice. Sometimes when I think about getting a new building, I consider the ones that might fill gaps with certain characters who I can't assign on certain tasks (e.g., I think Squeaky Voiced Teen needs the Aztec to work four hours).

I think I read here or elsewhere that there is not, unfortunately.

Man, I don't want to tell them how to run their business as they seem to be making plenty of cash, but there appears to be a lot of fatigue around the game this year (a natural thing and maybe unavoidable after it's been going for so long) and pulling back on the Gil deals seems like a misstep.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

^ Concur

EA hasn't made much money from me as I've only bought two scratchers. But through no fault of my own I've got a little over $60 in iTunes money sitting in my account... nearly all of it from gift cards I've received over the past year or so. I've got nothing better to do with it (I buy all my music from the Russian Mafia) so I'm planning to spend it on Donuts. As soon as ol' Gil shows up with a deal, EA will get my money.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

While I appreciate EA bringing back stuff that I missed before, I think everything in the 2014 Yard Sale costing donuts is a very EA thing to do (especially in regards to the Easter characters). At least in last year's Yard Sale there were some items you could buy with cash.
