Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

My quest is still scheduled to end at 2 a.m., and I'll be out this evening so I went ahead and put a bunch of my characters on 24-hour tasks. Sounds like I'll be waiting for a bunch more tiles on my next leg of the quest.

My most recent mystery box had a tree. But feenst's tip to use it for practice is a great one -- I will do that next time!

They finally fixed the part 6 glitch(not itchy and scratchy store), so now I can complete my missions.

Nice! Attempted the Homer Buddah twice just now...150 donuts and 60 donuts! Time to speed up some boardwalk pieces

I'm just getting started on this, it seems like it will be fun. I'm not sure how much I'll be able to play, but if you want another neighbor with a small, probably disorganized beginning town, feel free to add me.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I know people are pissed, but I like the pace of it. I was at nearly $300k waiting for some quests, which allowed me to buy that $200k building (forgot the name). I've still got nearly $100k for the other buildings I need to buy on squidport.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I am so far behind -- I have $67k in the bank right now and turn anywhere from $40-$60k per day depending on how much I play. This is what I have available to build:

Fat Tony's Compound: $136000
Herman's Military Antiques: $249000
Just Rainsticks: $52000
El Chemistri: $92950
Pimento Grove: $72800

My rule of thumb is to prioritize buildings that give characters first, then ones that advance quests, then the remainder, so I'm looking to build in the order I have them above, though I may bump Herman down the list because $250k is a lot of money.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Yeah, do character ones because they often give you more $ on quests than regular buildings would.

Yep, you've got the priority of buildings right.

My queue of customers at the Frying Dutchman, and some others weren't even finished yet (oddly, Herman was the only person who refused to eat there):

... and then everyone left the restaurant en masse:

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Got bored this morning and decided to move my power plant to the very top of the map. Took me over 300k to buy the land to get up there!

That's funny I was going to post the exact same thing. I just finished that quest this morning.

Mine was exactly the same when I did the frying dutchman.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Then it's directly on to the 1.5 day missions

I guess I'm level 27 and still haven't caught up with level 25. I've been too busy buying land to keep up with the plot.

I've decided to hold off on land right now. Not really cost effective. You are better buying buildings that give constant money, than wasting it on land. That is, of course, as long as you don't need the space.

I would move the squidport missions to the front. It seems like Squidport is going to be a major part of the game and there is only one road to travel down thus far. Stay on top of squidport until and if quests tree off.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I'd only work on Squidport until right after Itchy & Scratchy Store where it has you build another section of the boardwalk, after that I wouldn't worry about Squidport quests, but continue to build the boardwalk pieces.

I agree. There doesn't seem to be any reason to rush the buildings or quests. You end up waiting for enough tiles to be built before you can move on. It seems like you could put squidport on the back burner for a few weeks and catch up in no time.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

The Squidport expansion is permanent which is why I'm not focusing on it the way I did for Whacking Day, when I never did anything but snake related quests for the characters who had them as an option.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

That's why I'm saying start it. Even though it's permanent, after a few the boardwalk pieces start to take days to build. This way when you're ready to do Squidport, you won't have to wait around forever for the pieces you need.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Yeah, there's plenty of time to do other things while Squidport is building. However, there may not be plenty of money depending on the state of one's town. The land, ocean, and boardwalk tiles are all expensive. I would favor trying to build the boardwalk since that takes so excruciatingly long.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

Yeah, I can see if money is an issue, but it would only take about 2 days at his pace to get enough money for the 3 pieces of land needed ($19,000, $33,000, and $35,000). The Entrance is only $4,500, the Houseboat is $15,000 and includes a character he can use on more quests. The Itchy & Scratchy Store is $32,000. Tiles 11-15 take a day each and only cost $5,000 each, 16-30 are $7,500 each and take 36 hours each to build. Doing what I'm saying would cost 2 days, but by the time he gets to finishing the Squidport stuff he won't stall out early having to wait for more tiles, he'll have a decent supply.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

My squidport is very small and everything is tightly packed in there. You can barely see the performers. Tiles take too long to build, I wish there was a faster way (without using doughnuts).

Oh, don't get me wrong -- I've always got a tile building so that when the time comes to build the Frying Dutchman (for example), it's just a matter of buying the land (water), laying down the boardwalk, and then buying the building.

If it makes you feel better, I started the mafia compound last night and Just Rainsticks is next on my build list.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

The squidport buildings are pretty cheap thats why I say focus on that. Definitely keep the tiles going but always try to keep a little extra $ for squidport buidlings. Squidport buildings have been pretty cheap compared to everything else I've been buying lately. IE Fat Tony's compound, Skinner's house, Herman's Military.

Just got my 2nd Mystery Box Gazebo, purchased one early on in the game, so now I have 3 Gazebos. Two I could do without
