I just download it thanks. Again I don't want to get carried away with spending money on the game. Will it let me know in regards to updates that cost money? I am new to portable phone games.

I've spent maybe $25 total plus $50 in gift cards in the last three years on a game I play several times a day. I'm as close to F2P as you can get, save for a few bucks. There is NO way to spend money without confirming it first (similar for spending donuts, the premium currency). Yes, it's worth it, come join us! By the way, donuts are easier to get these days but NEVER RUSH A TASK and waste a donut! When you have a username, let us know and I'll add you to the OP.

Really glad I didn't try to go for the magician guy and save my spins. I have 300 ready to go and I'll go through them tonight - I'll pull a majorjoe on this one. I like ALL of the prizes this round, so I'm excited. Especially for...

You won't have to pay for updates. The only thing you can pay for is in-game items, but you can get plenty of characters and buildings without it. I've probably paid out as much as story over the same timeframe, and I could've easily gone without spending even that.

You'll earn donuts as you play, and you can save them up for premium items. As story said, don't pay to rush an item. To avoid doing that by accident, turn on your option to always confirm a donut spend, once you have your game up and running.

Cool, thanks for the tips, that will help. I have this and Ghosbusters for the PS3 to start playing, thats enough video games to keep me occupied for a while.

Started the day off with about 110 tokens. Got me the first prize easily and close to the 2nd.. I passed the second through earned tokens today and tapping casino patrons in my town. So not a bad first day start. I did a little of the st. patricks day stuff but trying to keep casino earners for that task.

I still haven't gotten the second prize, but I haven't spent that many tokens yet. I played dice for a while but was on a losing streak so I played slots. Then I switched to house of cards. It's weird because it's not poker, with only 10 cards to draw from, but you're trying to achieve the same hands, and the odds seem pretty good with only 10 cards. Just getting one pair earned me 70 chips, while four of a kind was 200 and a royal flush 250. I'm guessing that there's no hand that will win me 300 like the other games. :lol: But I think I'll keep playing this for a while.

On the other hand, I just got something called a Random Sampler worth 400 chips. I couldn't tell if there was any card pattern before it disappeared or if it was just... random as TSTO Addicts said it would be. :shrug:

I just play cards now, there is one hand that wins 400. Homer calls it a royal sampler, it's a nothing hand with no face cards in it. At least I think that's what it is. Homer occasionally goes back to his blackjack days and you win 400 as well, i guess thats the equivalent of cheating. I think the turnouts are best for the cards. I go cards>slots>dice.

Yeah, that's real time, unfortunately. That's why this sort of game is called a "grinder." :) But don't give in to the temptation to rush it with donuts (if you have any yet). :) It's a little frustrating when you're getting started and you don't have a lot of other things to do, so you might have to come back to the game later.

So after a couple of days, I just don't get it. I have the Simpsons and Flanders house, The brown house next door, and the kwike mart thats it. It almost feels like a World of Warcraft game, that their is so much to it, I don't know where to begin.

I just got the last prize and the last player's club tier so I'm just cashing in donuts bonuses from here on out. I'll figure out some stuff to craft, but I don't really need or want any of them so I'll basically pick some plants, fountains, and spotlights and probably store most of them.

I scored 12 donuts yesterday from Maggie and the daily challenges! :banana:

I didn't play WoW, but basically your goal is to build up your town. So assign your characters to jobs and collect income from your buildings in order to accumulate dollars and XP. Your characters will probably have some questlines you can follow in order to get more stuff. Building up your XP will unlock stuff, and you can use $ to purchase more buildings.

I had a little better success yesterday. I have played with the controls a little more and I'm starting to understand it. I also have the Burns Casino. Do you recommend creating an EA account?

Excellent! (Burns voice intended) Yes, as you unlock stuff like the casino, you'll be directed to follow certain quests to get more stuff. Some of the posters on this forum like kenbuzz come up with fun ways to mix and match stuff in interesting ways.

Yes, definitely create an account. That will save your progress in case your game crashes or you want to switch devices. Also, it's useful in the rare instance that you want to contact EA to fix a problem (I never have).

I've officially unlocked everything (including the black diamond player tower and safari casino). Now begins the daunting task of designing an area around all this madness lol. Good event imho.

Yeah, I was looking over my Vegas complex and thinking we got a lot of stuff. 14 buildings! :eek: And I like the signs too.

My tokens are stacking up again. :lol: Although I mix it up a bit, I've mostly been playing the cards. The payouts seem fine, and the game just feels faster than the others.

The latest in-game update gives you the option to spend 5 tokens on a casino game at a time for 5 times the reward. That's a relief. Right now I'm at 451 tokens - and counting! - and it would've been a real slog to play that many games.

I'm annoyed by yet another questline requiring the same characters. I'm going to send Marge on the same eight-hour task three times because I don't want to use the characters who are earning event currency. :lol:

This is a great thing, and how Tiny Tower Las Vegas works. I was approaching 700 tokens this morning, but I've since spent 250 of them and racked up multiple donut bonuses.

Note that unlike the monorail prizes, currency that earns bonuses doesn't roll over to the next prize. So if you need 100 chips to earn the bonus and you get a 400-chip payout, those extra 300 are lost and your next bonus will start at zero. Just a tip for those trying to maximize their chips. :)

:up: Thanks for accepting my friend request and visiting my town! I don't think the game explains it well, so basically the idea of visiting someone else is to earn $ and XP for yourself by tapping on their town buildings. If you tap on, say, my brown house, then that will start the next cycle for my earning more money and XP even before I come back to my town. So when I visit other people, I try to tap their longer-running buildings because it benefits them more. But it doesn't make a difference for you so you can ignore that until you get more used to the game.

One thing to avoid is vandalizing buildings because that hurts your obedience rating as well as that of the person you're visiting. It doesn't really matter for someone like me who's been playing the game for a while, but it'll hurt your town rating. One of your peripheral goals is to build up your star rating (called the Conform-O-Meter and shows next to your level number) because that increases your multiplier. Again, not something you need to worry about as you're building up, but when you have more money to spend, that will help guide your purchases.
