I spent my spins before seeing that. I may end up trying it eventually. I will still reserve the right to curse EA, however. Evil bastards!

I assume the Golden Scratch-R is gone because of the Gil sale, I assume it'll be back when that's over.
Could be. I did see another guy's game, and he had the Golden Scratch-R. He has the Christmas update, but I don't know if he ever had Gil show up.

Don't know if EA tweaked the odds or if I've just been extraordinarily lucky, but I would recommend trying the 5:1 dog a few times to see if you don't get the same outcome.

Peter Moore? (Sorry that's the only EA executive's name that I know off the top of my head.)

I tried that twice. Both times Raised by Wolves won. Third time I bet on him and he lost. I don't care because it's just worthless money that I got from that lousy wheel.

I cant remember the last time I bet on a dog race, seems a waste of time.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

At Christmas Eve dinner with a few families gathered around a table, I chatted with a guy my age who's worked at several video game companies, including EA. I asked him if, within the industry, there's as much vitriol toward EA as there seems to be from the gamer side. He said absolutely not. They tend to hire more for the long-term, that the employee demographics skew older as a result and it's one of the few video game companies where one can really work at what they like and have a family and do both really well. Plus, he said, the health benefits are tremendous. He conceded when they make mistakes, they're usually big and public, but all the little great stuff on the inside really adds up, from the perspective of industry insiders.

Keeping that in the back of my mind has helped me not have a meltdown the last few days every time my wheel goes right past Claus Co. ;)

I won Plow King on the wheel, so just Claus Co, Snow Shiva and the Krabappel apartment decorations left for me.

Just bet a 5-1 and won 12K

Calling down hellfire upon EA is what helps me. It's almost worth the cheating wheel.

Fat Tony? Why are you always digging at the Purple house?

I found out the problem. I had deleted my river and apparently you need one for that mission to be live.

After not betting on a dog race in months I just won a second 5-1 in a row.

Are they trying to hook me back in

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I play the 5-1 all the time and I will frequently, well worth the effort if you need the money.

If anyone would please tap my token at the Egg Nog bar to speed up the respawn process, I would appreciate it, thanks.

Wait, is this a thing?

story 12-28-13 11:55 PM

Maybe I'm wrong but I thought tapping it reset the clock so the 24 hours (or whatever) starts from the friend's tap, not mine. Isn't that how it works for other buildings' cash?

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I had 19 tokens stacked up so I just burned five of them: Four were cash, despite cash only occupying three of the ten slots.

Yes, that's how it should work, and I tap on people's tokens when I see them. But it's not really "speeding things up" as much as it is keeping a regular turnover cycle, especially if you're not playing when the building finishes--especially useful when we're in different time zones.

2 spins on the wheel today and I got the last two things I need! Holy cow, I am finished!!!!!!!

Bought the $19.99 package and got the cracker factory. Now to figure out which other buildings and multipliers I want.

I appear to have stopped earning tokens at 75K GCs.

just got the snow monster w/ my one of 3 spins. just need the homeless shelter to finish up. at 4 spins a day that gives me about 25 more chances or so.

I just want the Christmas Co., I'm usually at 3 tokens per day, not trying too hard to get GCs anymore.

Got the Shelter and snow beast today. I was in absolute shock at my two spin victories in a row.

I won the 5-1 three out of the last four bets on the pooches.

Plus I have 15 coins to spin so tomorrow I guess I'll spend what I have on the wheel.

The Yes Guy just unlocked.

Re: The Simpsons: Tapped Out

I saved up 10 tokens and used the trick Jcheckel posted. Had to uninstall/reinstall twice before getting Plow King on the sixth spin. Time to save up again to go after ClausCo, Snow Monster, the Shelter and a couple of snowmen.

At least I'm earning plenty of tokens with the "Hunt for the Simpsons" task.

We'll probably get the lame striped cooling towers just in time for the event to be over.
