I meant the first GTA that comes out for next gen systems - according to Rockstar.....GTA V is for the current gen systems only but it's all good as I will probably be playing V for years...just enough time to last me before buying the new xbox.

I highly doubt I'll end up with either. I got a PS3 (and actually have two) because it represented the best value proposition for a blu-ray player at the time. I have played some games on it, but I'm not a big enough gamer to go for either of these consoles. Might get a WiiU when the price drops significantly in a few years.

Alright, now that we know more details, is everyone sticking with their original answers? I'm leaning more towards picking up a PS4 at launch and getting the One next year when Halo 5 and Titanfall come out. Or I might just grab them both this year. Decisions, decisions.

I picked both and am sticking with it, though the Xbox is first with a PS4 next spring maybe.

I thought Sony won E3's "Battle of the Consoles"...I've had a Xbox and now a 360 but it's a toss-up now. Maybe the Xbox One at first and then Sony PS4 later. Check and see what my friends will do.

I voted both a long time ago. Too lazy to check my post, but probably was something like this:
"Getting the Xbox on release date, and the PS4 the next year, just as I did this generation".

Did not see that one coming.
Whether or not PS4 had similar DRM, there's just no way I can consciously support MS with such an anti-consumer device. Drop the DRM, forced Kinect, lower the price and I'd reevaluate my pre-order.

Decision made. Owned all three this gen but I've primarily been an Xbox guy for the last decade. Pre-ordered a PS4 tonight.

I've only ever gotten one console a generation, and don't really care enough to get both.

PS4, and I won't even consider an Xbone until MS changes their policies. Even then, I may not bother.

The thing that sucks is I much preferred MS's exclusives shown today over PS4's, but I'll adapt. Destiny is going to be a beast.
I know not a single console has been sold yet, but it already feels like a small victory for ownership rights.

To repeat myself. White flags. Heads on pikes. A simple reversal will not bring MS back into my good graces.
(It does not seem proper that I am grouchier than you are. What the hell is this world coming to!)

I have both a XBone and PS4 on pre-order from Amazon.
Microsoft had better exclusives in my mind, like Dead Rising 3, Halo 5, and Titanfall. However, Sony spoke to the elephant of the room and came out and said absolutely no DRM on disc based games and no always online connection. The standing ovation they got tonight was deserved even if the keynote was pretty weak.
Here's my problem. While Microsoft has always been about the OS and the multiplayer experience, Sony has always struggled in that area. Even with Playstation Plus being a paid service, we still don't know if it'll be as an immersive as an experience as Live is. I'm willing to give into Microsoft's shitty policies as long as the experience trumps that of the 360's. If the internet goes down? Boo hoo. I have other things to do in my house. Fuck, I might just leave it!
I'll keep both pre-orders, but we'll see what happens over the course of the next few months.

I have always collected a ton of systems. I have never really had brand loyalty for too long as one company has always frustrated me enough to go find an alternative. From Nintendo to Sony to Microsoft with some Sega sprinkled in-between (Genesis/Saturn), I always try to go to the one that has the best to offer. I was honestly more than willing to go to the Xbox One as my next system if they did not completely fubar it. They fubared it and then some. I am still not an early adopter because I have such a backlog on the 360, but when I do...I am pretty sure I am going PS4.
To put it in a short sentence. Screw You Microsoft, and screw you on the horse you ride in on. (as I sit here and type on a Windows 7 machine, oh well

I'm going to be buying both. Probably the Xbox first. But it will depend on the launch titles. But Eventually I will get both.

Well, my position slightly changed. If things played out as they have, my original thought was I'd buy a WiiU now and get a PS4 down the road. Instead, I've preordered a PS4 and will get a WiiU in a year or two, once there are enough first party Nintendo games for it to feel worth it and a price drop. I have a feeling Microsoft's grand experiment will only last through early 2014 and next E3 they'll be dropping all of this shit like the plague. If that happens, I may pick up an Xbone after a price drop. It'll likely depend on how satisfied I am with the PS4 and how many killer exclusives Microsoft has between now and then.

PS4 at launch, Xbox One eventually. I was 360-centric this gen, but between the price and the DRM/always online stuff, I want to wait a bit before I get onboard.

PS4 at launch. I will eventually pick up the Xbox one for exclusives. It sucks switching though since I've been buying all the non exclusives on the 360. Now I will have to switch over to buying all those franchises on the PS4...
Hell I don't even care about the always online part of the xbox one. I only care about the used game aspect. I am a collector and they're making it so my collection will be completely worthless.

None of it is backwards compatible anyway, so why would that matter? Case uniformity on the media shelf? The cases for all 4 systems are going to be different anyway.

A big part of it for me is my friend base. i have like 2 psn friends, but thats mainly my fault since i'm never on there. if enough people make the switch, i'll go ps4. love my 360 but really hating some of the policies. right now, i'm in a "get through this gen" mode, though i'm sure i'll want a next gen console once games really start rolling out
