Netflix is getting a new interface today. It's going to be a similar interface across all streaming devices. This way they can easily update all platforms at the same time. But I noticed this part at the bottom of the article:

So with the PS4 games getting pretty bad reviews and an overall unimpressive debut (defective consoles, crappy UI, missing features etc), how do we think the X1 will fair next week? I think this is Microsofts big chance to swoop in and regain their footing as the possibly superior console as of right now. I'm not confident in their launch games review scores either, but I think they will be slightly higher overall and the console will garner more positive remarks across the board. Anyone wanna take a stab at review scores for the games since not much is going on this week Xbox wise?

Here's mine:
Forza - I'd say solid 8.5's but I'm not a racing fan so I could be off
Dead Rising 3 - It will get slammed for its graphics but be fun and get 7-7.5's.
Ryse - This could go either way and could end up being a huge surprise, but I doubt it... 7/10.
Killer Instinct - Probably some 7-8 scores
Zoo Tycoon - who knows? I hope it's cool...maybe 7's
Power star Golf - I wish it was amazing since I'll be buying it, but probably 6's :(

Overall, nothing amazing on the X1 side of things either, all about on par with Killzone scores, but nothing as bad as Knack. Forms will earn the highest overall scores across both consoles.

It'll go fine. Missing features aside, Microsoft hasa good infrastructure so the networking side should work well, and the base OS looks quite stable.

Though I will say your comment on the PS4 UI is the first time I've really seen any kind of slam on it. Most seem to be complimenting it thus far.

I see Ryse being the Xbox One's Knack (currently sitting at a 57.39%), it just looks really terrible. Dead Rising is a game that will probably need a re-review after a couple patches.

Forza is my big ? since it plays the same, has fewer cars, is a pretty solid graphical update (but not a massive one, Forza has been a pretty game series for a while), and is trying to basically sell you on buying what would have been included with previous Forzas as DLC. By comparison, Forza 4 featured over 500 cars and 26 tracks, Forza 5 features 200 cars and 14 tracks.

Killer Instinct as a full game will probably be alright if there are a few modes to keep it interesting. I think Crimson Dragon will be well reviewed but wind up with lower sales than it should.

The PS4 UI is just missing basic features and made stupid choices for things that people are hoping will get patched. Can't sort installed games?? Wtf?

Anyways, I forgot about Crimson Dragon. Probably another solid 7 but if it's cheap I'll check it out :)

I'm betting on Ryse surprising people, but could definitely be wrong.

Ryse was originally a Kinnect only title. That's all i need to know to avoid the game.

Amazon says in my "Day One" Edition description that "The product does not come with the converter."

I'm just thinking it will end up being kind of like a Dante's Inferno type game, with Rome crap in it. Kind of like a more simplistic God of War clone. Dante's Inferno was good. Again, I could be wrong, but I'm betting on the underdog here ;)

Dante's Inferno was God of War-ish. The hero was quick and agile.

Doesn't look that way at all in Ryse. However, it could surprise everyone and feedback from those that have played it extensively was not particularly [embargoed text]. Who knows.

Hit up metacritic for the games for a good overview. Sites like Kotaku and Polygon say not to buy Killzone and hold off on the PS4 altogether. Even people on pro-Sony neogaf are reporting dead consoles I guess. I saw that on reddit.

Couple all that with some basic functionality issues and the fact that CoD was not actually 1080p on PS4 (720p just like X1, it's getting patched) and it's been a pretty low day so far.

Literally one reviewer said that the first unit he got had a defective HDMI port. It was impossible to plug anything into it to make it function, so he had to get it replaced.

I was skipping this game originally but it's BECAUSE of the recent clips that I'm looking forward to it. I really like counter based combat like the Arkham and Assassin's Creed series and I was a big fan of Spartan: Total Warrior back on Gamecube.

Couldn't have said it better.

The comparison vid of COD:G looked exactly the same on IGN except for color settings looking stange. I knew that 1080p claim was bs.

The weirdest part of the entire resolution ordeal is that both systems were 720p and the PS4 still had framerate issues.

I'm a total Xbox guy but I think you are a little optimistic here.

Forza I predict an 8 tops.
Ryse I think looks legitimately decent but I predict 5-6 range.
Killer Instinct I predict a 6. I bet lag will be an issue for online play.
Zoo Tycoon I want to be good. I want it to be good so badly... but I think it is going to be awful and get reviews around a 4. Wal-Mart exclusivity for the disc and such. I bet it is terrible.
Power Star Golf I think has the potential to be a 7 or 8. I think it might be one of the surprise fun releases.

These seem more in line with what I expect too, except KI - I think that the lag will be all but gone. But I think Golf will be the shocker and be higher based on fun/value alone and you all should buy it and friend me on XBL so I can beat you.

I will probably be buying it simply because it has asynch play which sounds fun.

I am concerned about KI and lag due to all the other online fighters. DOA4 solved the issue by slowing things down when lag hit. MK just never solved it, lag issues all around.

I suppose if the cloud stuff works well it might be able to solve the issue?

Is Spartan Assault kind of RTS-ish like Halo Wars? Really liked that game.
