Unlocked that Venus "Vault of Glass" mission but I cannot do it due to not having better gear. Shit is like level 24 or 26.

I only have one item of Legendary gear and that's the cloak/cape that my Hunter wears. I also just leveled up to 22.

I picked up Suros Regime from Xur today. That thing is incredible. I hope the upcoming nerf doesn't make it useless.

I hopped in the raid just to check it out too. Looks like you need at least 3 people to get by the first "puzzle". There's 3 rings you need to occupy in order to activate them. While you're standing in them, Vex enemies spawn and you have to fight them off. As soon as you get out of the ring, they take it back over. I'm assuming you need all 3 activated at the same time... and I'm guessing for a good amount of time.

I just ran around killing enemies hoping for loot drops. They just keep spawning infinitely. I probably stayed in there for 15 minutes. I didn't die, but I didn't get any loot either, so I'm guessing you might have to finish something to get rewarded. All the enemies were level 26, so if you're less than that, you might need to level up a bit before attempting it.

The 1.0.2 patch will go live next week, and includes several changes to the Cryptarch and Engram experience. These changes guarantee that Engrams will always decode into items at or above the quality of an engram.

Only Engrams that drop after 1.0.2 are subject to this change.

Cryptarch Changes 

Cayde-6 took the Cryptarch aside and showed him a sack of doorknobs. He decoded that mystery pretty quickly.

•Legendary Engrams will always produce Legendary or better quality items, including Materials or Exotics

•Rare Engrams will always produce Rare or better quality items

•Rare engrams will have an increased chance to produce Legendary quality items


Activity Changes

•Daily Heroics, Weekly Heroics, and Vanguard: Tiger Playlist activities will include Rare and Legendary Engrams in addition to their existing rewards


Item Changes

•Ascendant materials have been promoted to Legendary to closer associate them with the gear they are used to upgrade

•Legendary Engram items that exist in your inventory will be demoted to Rare quality when the patch goes live, so decode them while you can. But let’s be honest--even if you don’t, we all know they were blues already...

This game is going to be so much better, and less frustrating, for new players 6 months from now. Kinda pissed that I bought it day one and have already nearly burned out on it.

All that means is that Destiny will actually drop less of the rare Engrams than before. I just have a hard time believing that Bungie knows more about what they want to do with this game than how they want us to be able to play it.

just over 2 weeks old and I think they are looking/listening and making some good adjustments

keep in mind these are "issues" that wouldn't have been evident in Alpha or Beta with the level cap at 8 like it was

I bought the Suros, but now that it's available that way, EVERYBODY will be using them in the crucible.

I also bought the Exotic Engram, and got the Warlock Helmet he was selling from it.

I bought the engram and got a Hunter helmet. My main character is a Warlock.

Doesn't matter much anyway since you can only equip one piece of exotic armor at a time (for now; I expect this to change in the future as well). I already have exotic chest and gauntlet both maxed.

I actually picked up two Legenday off enemy drops last night...and this happened after I bought my first Legendary Item from the Vanguard Titan. Since the update next week only covers drops after it get installed I'll go ahead and open the three I have. I do have a problem with this...

What I picked up was not BLUE....clearly a different color. Are they saying ones that were Blue that became a Legendary or All Legendary picked up?

Any Legendary engrams you have now will turn into blues when the patch goes live. Use them before then.

They were joking about the fact that the vast majority of legendary engrams turn out to be blue when you decode them anyway so them turning everything blue with the patch really isn't a big deal.
